I just returned from a trip to Los Angeles, California, where I went to a red carpet event celebrating Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes. I then spent three days doing interviews about the set at Summer Game Fest. This podcast talks all about that trip.

This episode is part four of a five-part series. In it, I go through every single Mood Swings card, in collectible number order, and talk about how they were designed, including many of the changes they went through and some strategic tips on how to play them. Note: This is a bonus episode for this week.

CannCon and Chris Paul close out the week with a show that whiplashes in real time right alongside the news itself. Trump tells Fox News in the morning that bombing Iran will continue and be bigger than ever, then hours later announces on Truth Social that strikes are canceled and a memorandum of understanding has been signed with eleven countries including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. In the Oval Office, Trump reveals the Strait of Hormuz has secretly been open the entire time, with hundreds of millions of barrels of oil quietly moved out at night while radar was jammed, directly undercutting the media narrative that blamed gas prices on a closed strait. Within the hour, Trump posts again accusing Iran of lying about the deal terms and says the war may be back on. Chris Paul makes the case that the discombobulation itself may be the point, an invitation to step back and simply observe rather than form beliefs from contradictory information. CannCon and Chris also dig into the Hill's reporting on a growing GOP civil war, with Massey, MTG, and Ro Khanna appearing together in ways that suggest either organic coalition building or a scripted third party operation. JD Vance heads to Europe to finalize the deal before a View appearance back home.

Jon Herold comes in Thursday on a slow news day that gets spectacularly un-slow mid-show. Trump posts a detailed plan to bomb Iran and take Kharg Island, Jon raises a Sun Tzu objection, and then within the hour Trump posts again canceling everything because a peace deal has been approved by every party in the region. Chris Paul had predicted the reversal in the Badlands private Telegram chat before it happened, and Jon finds that deeply satisfying. Jon also spends significant time on the New York Times Epstein book video and arrives at the opposite conclusion the Times intends: the entire narrative confirms the Epstein story was a coordinated op against Trump, not evidence of a coverup. MTG going on CNN to call Trump a traitor over the files does not help his read on her. Federal prosecutors issued subpoenas to JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo in a criminal political debanking investigation, and Jon says expand it immediately to PayPal, YouTube, Instagram, and every platform that kicked people off for political speech. The USPS just proposed new ballot tracking standards tied directly to Trump's election integrity order, and Jon connects it to the USPS blockchain voting patent that has been sitting quietly for years. Senate Democrats are apparently wargaming how to stop Trump from stealing the midterms, and Jon calls it the most telling projection he has seen in months.

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Sen Lindsey Graham calls in and gives us an update on his South Carolina primary election today. Graham is a reliable President Trump ally, who will advance the agenda, including properly concluding the Iran conflict, protecting Israel, and pursuing broader Middle East peace. Graham's opponent is heavily funded and endorsed by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep Thomas Massie, who lack any MAGA credentials; they are more aligned with the hard left. Also, our military, on the orders of Trump, hammered Iranian positions in response to the Iranian regime shooting down one of our helicopters. How much more delay and attack we will tolerate from this enemy? This is exactly what Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu did the other night when the same enemy fired 11 ballistic missiles at its civilian populations. The U.S. and Israel should both decisively beat the hell out of Iran militarily to end ongoing delays and attacks by Iran or Hezbollah that disrupt deals. Meanwhile, MTG and Thomas Massie continue to question Israel's alliance and push debunked spying claims and the USS Liberty issue. They are fueling anti-Semitism while promoting Putin and terrorist-linked Arab regimes. It is doubtful that many embarrassed Cornyn voters will be voting for Talarico, but he needs all the help he can get. Dems understand this and are aiming for more unity and a bigger tent this go-round. Some get that more than others. Al Green got it but has gotten it long enough. Mysterious Meddlers paid through Gop channels are placing fake Dems in primaries, including Texan Maureen Galindo, who is a lot more MTG than AOC. South Carolina's Gop gerrymander might be too late. Alabama's might be too racist. Neither Trump nor his Supreme Court gives a damn. Trump isn't fooling anyone. Everyone knows he's full of shit. That might make lying to your face even more satisfying really, because he can. Trump emptied the Board of Peace cookie jar while no one was looking, not that it was unexpected. Why bother putting effort into peace if it doesn't put money in his pockets? You might remember being assigned Roots: The Saga of an American Family, the book and miniseries in school.
