The Last Victim, stars Prime Time Emmy Award® Winner Ron Perlman (Hellboy franchise, Beauty and the Beast), Ali Larter (Legally Blonde, Resident Evil franchise, Final Destination franchise), and Ralph Ineson (The Green Knight, The Witch, Chernobyl). Naveen A. Chathapuram's directorial debut is a stylish, white-knuckle neo-western set in rural americana, based on a story by Chathapuram and Doc Justin, and written by Ashley James Louis. The Last Victim follows a group of modern-day outlaws (led by Ineson), pursued by an aging sheriff (Perlman), who deal with the fallout of a crime gone wrong in the harsh landscape of the American Southwest. When a young professor (Larter) and her husband cross paths with the gang, they are drawn into a chain of vengeance where morality is ambiguous and survival is the only priority. With a deep understanding of the psychological and sociological underpinnings of people sidelined and disillusioned by the promise of the American Dream, Chathapuram crafts a unique vision of survival in the wilderness, exemplified by Larter's raw performance. Chathapuram previously produced Ca$h starring Sean Bean and Chris Hemsworth for Roadside Attractions, Night of the Living Dead: Darkest Dawn, and executive produced Netflix's Brown Nation.

Starting as a model in her teens, she moved on to acting, making a name for herself in the movie Varsity Blues…showing her comedy chops in movies like Legally Blonde and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back…but then proving she has the good to be an action star in the Resident Evil movies…and as a scream queen in the Final Destination films. Among the streets and sewers of Racoon City, Ben and Tao flee the relentless Nemesis, hunt an elusive vaccine, stop an unstoppable sociopath, and split up to look for survivors in Capcom’s riveting zombie horror remake, Resident Evil 3. They discuss the gimmick of the invulnerable enemy, the controversial redesign of classic characters for new generations and modern sensibilities, the role of partially locked map design to mitigate backtracking, the fine line between B-movie hyperbole and cult success, and how even originality of script and narrative can play second fiddle to good fun and near-flawless execution. Story spoilers abound. Seriously, don’t listen to this if you’re worried about spoilers, play the game first. Otherwise, come get some!Content Warning: PEGI 15. A subtle blend of lateral thinking and extreme violence. (No, not like ‘It’s a Knockout!’)Clarifications:The original soundtrack to Resident Evil 3 is by multiple composers, including Masami Ueda, Azusa Kato, Ryo Koike, Takumi Saito, Kota Suzuki, Takayasu Sodeoka, Saori Maeda, Jeff Broadbent, Zhenlan Kang. It’s available on SteamAs Tao suspected, there is an accompanying series of novels. Wikipedia says the first Resident Evil novel was Hiroyuki Ariga's novella Biohazard: The Beginning, published in 1997 as a portion of the book The True Story of Biohazard. The story serves as a prelude to the original Resident Evil, in which Chris investigates the disappearance of his missing friend, Billy Rabbitson.Ben says this is a continuation of the events of Resident Evil 2. It would be more accurate to say they happen in an overlapping time frame. Parts of Resident Evil 3 even take place before Resident Evil 2, though this concludes later in time. The YouTuber Gamer’s Little Playground does an admirable job of piecing the cutscenes together chronologically: Ben reviewed Alien Isolation here:The character of Jill Valentine also appears in Resident Evil 1 & 5 as well as some non-numbered Resident Evil games. Here’s the episode where we discussed achievements in Desperados 3: Audio extracts:Channel 4’s Spaced. I'm glad I did it, it's something I've been meaning to play for a while. unlike those other games, I don't think I'll ever play RE1 again. there is just too much about it that seemed dumb/cheap, that I ultimately used a guide for the final 1/3 of the game I currently own it for Gamecube, the DS remake (which lists for ~100$) and the digital Switch version. Hello survivors and welcome to The Blood Pact - a The Thing podcast by Resident Evil fans, for Resident Evil fans! Nobody trusts anybody any more… as we look back at a 1982 horror classic and it's 2011 prequel with this retrospective on The Thing! There's an air of paranoia as we discuss the atmosphere, story and effects on both films. Does the 1982 get the attention it deserves, even today? Does the 2011 film do enough differently? How well do the two connect? Headcanons abound with what exactly The Thing's goal was, and a revelation about the events that perhaps come before both entries. A few games journalists and activists cried about trans representation in Grand Theft Auto V, so Rockstar quietly censored their own game. We discuss this cowardly decision along with a Resident Evil 4 developer's support of censorship, Twitch's sexism against men, a woke Cards Against Humanity clone, and Lara Croft's slow transition to becoming a man.

Your Stupid Minds features another underperforming pandemic film with this hard reboot of the Resident Evil franchise, removing Alice and the laser puzzles of the Paul W.S. Anderson films and sticking to something closer to the video game remakes. It's 2021's Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City! Claire (Kaya Scodelario) is a former orphan from Raccoon City who returns to visit her brother Chris (Robbie Amell) and tell him something's not right with the town. She is almost immediately proven right when a warning siren goes off and the T-Virus zombified townsfolk start attacking everyone. Can Claire, Chris, and the rest of the S.T.A.R.S. police squad escape the city before it explodes? Can they cram as much stuff from the games as they can? Will Jill Sandwich make an appearance? You'll have to watch to find out!

Something that has cropped up recently in the land of video games is adaptations of those video games. While said adaptations were all the rage in the late 90s and early to mid-2000s, with the likes of Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and Doom receiving lots of attention. Then there was a seeming crash, but in the last couple of years, we've seen a sort of revival in that sphere of media with the likes of Uncharted, League Of Legends, Resident Evil, and Mortal Kombat all receiving adaptations in film or tv. So what we thought we would do for this episode is pitch our own adaptations of video game properties! So strap in because we've got some places to go!Media Discussed: Ambulance Chainsaw Man Community Everything, Everywhere, All At Once Video Games Discussed: some Dead By Daylight talk some Elden Ring talk some Stardew Valley talk Picks Of The Week: Josh: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once Austin: Instant Gratification-Dance Gavin Dance Dylan: Jack Harlow - Nail Tech As always you can find us on social media for all things Culture Bop, Hunting Pixels, and the Culture Bop family of content. For some reason Video Games have always been tough to adapt into movies and TV shows. There are a few exceptions of course but in general shows like Halo and movies like Monster Hunter and Resident Evil fall well short of fans' expectations. So what makes it so hard to make a faithful adaptation? We discuss why studios always fail and what they could do to avoid butchering our childhood favorites in the future. A lot of people dunk on the tank controls of the original Resident Evil games, but I always thought they worked pretty well when it came to dealing with slow moving zombies. But how they stack up in Dino Crisis, when you use those same controls against dinosaurs? Actually, not horribly. Dino Crisis gets referred to as "Resident Evil with dinosaurs", and I think it's a pretty fair comparison. Similar controls, graphics, that same fixed camera, and horrible inventory systems. But I think the puzzles are better, the enemies are cooler, and with the exception of Resident Evil 2, I think Dino Crisis does "late 90's PlayStation survival horror" better than Resident Evil does. My guest this week is my buddy Tyler, who makes his return to the podcast to talk about Regina (which was say wrong, as you'll hear shortly), stupid crane puzzles, dinosaurs, and crawling through heat vents. It's all about Dino Crisis week, baby! And before we talk what a piece of shit Gail is, I get into another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'! This week, someone asks why I love wrestling games so much, when they seemingly just do the same thing over and over again. Which non-Nintendo franchises am I praying for the video games Gods to revitalize? And let's talk about my let's plays for a minute... PLUS, we have another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', featuring three dino-centric games: Jurassic Park (SNES), DinoPark Tycoon, and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Are you on social media? Of course you are. So follow us! Welcome to Pocket-Sized Podcasting, brought to you by Alitu: The Podcast Maker. On this episode, we're asking a big question: Who are you making your podcast for?The thing is, unless you know exactly who you're making your show for, and why you're doing it, you've got no chance of growing an audience.Let's imagine a personal trainer who's making a health and fitness podcast to market their business. Their target audience might be people who are interested in healthy eating, weight loss, or HIIT training, or bodybuilding.Or, let's imagine a hobbyist who loves zombies and post-apocalyptic fiction. Their target audience would simply be folks with the same really specific passion. They might be fans of TV shows like The Walking Dead, and video games like Resident Evil. It's a good idea to sketch out what's known as your “avatar”. An avatar is a made up person that represents your ideal listeners in the real world. You make this detailed - with a name, age, job, background, likes, dislikes. You make this as real as you can, so it's someone you can know, deeply. The benefit then is that, with each episode you plan out, you can ask yourself the question “would Jane (my avatar) like this?” Asking that question is the key to making really compelling content, every time. For a really detailed look at how to create your avatar, and a bunch of examples, go to ThePodcastHost.com/listenerSupport the show (https://pod.academy)
Lets take your 2 favorite characters from the Resident Evil franchise, subtract one, and then drop Leon alone in some eastern European country to rescue the President of the United States' daughter who was kidnapped by a shadowy organization that is totally not Umbrella and being held captive in a badly guarded small church. Also there is a dog and a chainsaw wielding doctor. Thats right! It's time for Resident Evil 4 y'all!
