Life at the End

Of all the topics and questions about faith, I think this one is the most important to fully embrace and try to understand.  The idea that you can do nothing to earn God's love, but also do nothing to take that love away is monumental.   The unconditional love parents have for their kids is a perfect place to start when thinking about grace.    Who doesn't love audiobooks!  This is a book I've written called "Simple: How Kids Help Us Understand God".  I've wanted to put it in Audiobook format and thought this would be the simplest avenue.  At this stage in my life, I am more likely to listen to a book than have time to sit and read.   Each week I will be releasing another chapter.

With all of our advances in medical science, why can we not predict the timing of someone's death? Maybe it's because human will is involved. 

There isn't anything simple about dying, especially when there are paradoxes involved. Can we learn to embrace paradox, even at the end? 

So many people worry that their loved ones are suffering at the end of life.  What is suffering anyway? 

Predicting the time of someone's death is a bit like predicting the weather. Here are a few signs that can help give clues to where in the process someone might be. 

Death is viewed so often as a moment. Usually death is a process, one that begins weeks and months before the actual moment. 

The word hospice often brings up thoughts of death. In actuality hospice is much different with a focus on living life to the fullest. Listen to this brief synopsis of what the hospice philosophy is all about.
