This is the final episode of the Mechwarriors Heavy Duty podcast. The reasons why are at the end of the show. Before that, I breeze through Movement and Terrain, most of which is unchanged from the original rules. Thanks to those who listened, and to the very few who gave feedback. Keep playing, have fun, and nuke a friend!
Welcome, Mechwarriors, to Episode 7! In this episode I discuss the Unit Type Special Rules which we have come up with to give the game more depth. Also, I have started putting the unit review in with the podcast, giving you only one file to download. No game report this time, as the holidays shot down any games. Sorry about the delay in posting this, but Christmas, New Year's, and extreme allergies have all rolled crits on me. Enjoy! Rule Number 6: THERE IS NO RULE NUMBER 6! Nor, it seems, is there an Episode 6 Unit Review. Listen to the audio for the reason. What it boils down to? I'm a dunce.
Episode 6 is live! Combat Part 2 for you today. Finishing up most of the rules and regs for destroying one another in the most gruesome fashion possible! And, finally covered Artillery! There have been questions, so here are the answers! Note: For space reasons, after Episode 7, I will have to move Episode 1 to another download point. I will let you know where in the Episode 7 podcast and show notes. This game report is, by far, the coolest yet. Ken and I played a big game, and he got to sit in for the report! 1500 points, 4 to 5 hours. Devastation!
Not much of a game to report on this time. Your illustrious host put out a game surface that was too freakin big! Well, it's been a long time, listeners. Too long. I apologize for the 4 week delay. I have been busy, but that is no excuse. This episode, we cover the first part of Combat! After all, without shooting and blowing s**t up, there wouldn't be a game, would there? Also, the rules have been posted! They are online in a couple formats for you to download. The links are in the podcast and below. Get them and let me know what you think! Only one this week, and it's all live! Ken, Dave, and I give post turn reports for the short time we got to play til Ken had to go back to work. Warning! This one is unedited and unbleeped. You may hear some mild language. No pics of the teams this time. Sorry about that, guys!
Welcome to Episode 4 of the Mechwarriors:Heavy Duty podcast! This episode we start at the top of the rule book and start in. We cover the basic knowledge for the game and the Phased Order of Play. I try to explain our Simultaneous Action style of play. Sorry this is a couple days late. Life has been winning. This episode, I cover the Heat dials and the Special Equipment. There is another "What did he say?" segment, and an additional link, both in the podcast and here in the show notes. We also now have a Twitter account! Follow us at @MechwarriorHD. As I did last time, Unit reviews and game reports are separate files. Enjoy! 2 real quick game reports. Here's the quick version: I lose both times.
This time I review: The Colossal Poseidon http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=BF035 The Padilla Artillery http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=E040 The Wraith Battle Armor. http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=WS024
Welcome to Episode 2! This episode, we start talking about the rules for Mechwarrior:Heavy Duty, and introduce a new segment. “What did he say?” will highlight the dumb thing of the last episode. Since I am the only one recording right now, it’s something that I said. Hopefully, Ken or Dave will start recording, and they can take up some of the slack… Also uploaded the unit reviews in a separate file, as I did with the game reports. Putting them in the main podcast would have made the thing well over an hour long. This also lets you just download what you want to hear. We’ll see how this works out. Forgot to mention the links below in the podcast, so here they are: Links: http://www.lordsofthebattlefield.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=44 http://www.warrenborn.com/ http://www.classicbattletech.com/ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=108783714510&ref=nf mechwarriorsheavyduty@yahoo.com Enjoy!
OK, now the promo is ready! Ya know, it helps if you get the link correct IN THE PROMO! Feel free to use this promo in your podcast, or just listen to it for enjoyment.
Welcome to the first episode of the Mechwarriors:Heavy Duty podcast. MW:HD was created by Clay Dugger, Ken Edelstein, and Dave Huff, here in San Antonio, Texas. We spent 2 years writing the rule book. It started life as a few additions and modifications to the Wizkids game Mechwarriors, but quickly evolved into a much faster, much deadlier game. MW:HD was born from a love of gaming, several boxes of free Mechwarrior pieces, and the desire to totally devastate each other. As we say, "Invite a friend over, and nuke him. That's what life is all about!" Episodes will talk about the rulebook, and give detailed instructions on the rules, and how the affect other rules. We will talk strategies, and have in depth unit reviews, explaining the unit's abilities, short falls, and how to use it effectively in a game. Episode 1 only features Clay, as Ken and Dave are working on getting the equipment and time necessary to record. Clay talks about why he plays and a few of the rule changes. There are 3 unit reviews at the end. The units reviewed on this podcast are: AOD Blade #089 http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=AOD089 Wolfstrike Patrisan AA Vehicle #033 http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=WS033 Annihilation Ravager #017 http://www.warrenborn.com/Unit.php?ID=AN017 Next episode will begin the description of our rules, and how they work to make the game exciting! Also, expect more unit reviews.
