Michelle is a forensic technician with a local county coroner's office here in northern California. She also works for 2 local businesses, the Parrish Pub and Venus Spirits. Tom Lopez is a video journalist with a local news station here in the Santa Cruz area. He's spent almost 20 years in this field and we discuss local news, how stories are chosen, journalistic ethics, and more. We also touch a bit on the coronavirus as this is the first recording I've done since the shelter in place order. We also talk a bit about music, cars and more. Dare is a queer, black, jewish, chef, grower and all around instigator and that is putting it mildly. Dare and I discuss a bevy of topics, mostly related to race, equity, and societal factors that create systems of inequality. With extinction a real potential, we owe it all to ourselves to learn more and do what we can.
