On this Freedom Friday, we wrapped up our weekly theme, “Transformational Tools,” with stories from our listeners. We asked our listeners about the tools, resources, people, or experiences that have transformed their lives. We also had Chris Baker join us as he shared his ‘Coming to Christ’ story and how God is using him with his Tattoo ministry, INK 180. Chris is the founder of INK 180, but before being called to that ministry, he was a youth leader. He worked to encourage kids to cover gang graffiti with artistic murals. He also won the 2022 FBI Director's Award for Community Service for his work in removing branding tattoos for Sex Trafficking Survivors. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. What to do when good ink goes bad. Today's letter writer got a new tattoo right on heels of a divorce. Now they regret it. And they also probably regret not telling the Advice Fight boys any details about that aforementioned tattoo—because Adam, Ben and Andrew have to use their imaginations. And those aforementioned imaginations have been warped and darkened through years of standup comedy (and perhaps poor nutrition). The results of such imagination abuse? You'll find that in today's very important episode. TALK TO ME, TEXT ITWelcome back! After a brief hiatus for a Tunica getaway (where I may have strayed from my diet and gained three pounds—but who's counting?), I'm diving into three bizarre stories that mainstream media won't cover. Take a break from the usual news cycle with these fascinating tales that highlight the strange and wonderful world we live in.First up: a Swiss woman so devoted to Red Bull that she spent $600 on a functional barcode tattoo that actually works at self-checkout registers! Complete with a worm design chomping on the code, this permanent scanner has gone viral with millions of views. Is this the ultimate brand loyalty or a concerning glimpse into our consumer-driven future? Then we'll explore wedding party drama featuring a bride who shocked her bridesmaid with an extensive spreadsheet detailing nearly $1,000 in required expenses. From $500 dresses to $300 hair and makeup sessions, this bride's transparency about costs raises interesting questions about modern wedding expectations and friendship boundaries. Finally, meet Violet Skye, a 24-year-old entrepreneur who's built an entire career around 1980s nostalgia despite never experiencing the decade herself. With her teased perm, vintage wardrobe, teal Camaro, and partnerships with iconic 80s brands like Def Leppard and Esprit, she's turned her passion into a thriving business. Her story reminds us how powerful nostalgia can be, even for eras we never personally experienced. What was your favorite band from the 80s? MTV opened up a whole new world for my teenage self in rural Southern Ohio. Do you have any regret about any of your tattoos?
It's that time of the week again, and we're solving problems. Or at least trying to. This week, Jeff and Alex receive a request from a previous caller who's problem was in fact not solved. They dive into the follow up questions and provide thoughts and clarity. Another dilemma includes a man with an interesting tattoo name situation, and a relationship that has never seen an argument.... Ever..... Is that a green flag, or red flag? You decide. It's your girlsssss, Tish and Brandi back in Nashville, catching up on everything from Tish drawing a stoner's tattoo to dealing with massive spiders. They dive into hilarious “what ifs” — like Tish playing Miley's mom on Hannah Montana — and even uncover the alternate ending where Tish showed off her (not-so-bad) acting skills. Plus, they're diving deep into some Dear MT and High Design submissions (we have VIDEOS this week!) to give advice on boho bedroom makeovers, vinyl display hacks, achieving the ranch-life dream, and why toothpaste might just save your security deposit.
