3 Poems by modern_sooth. I'm a poet and a writer from central New York, my work consists of poems and lyrics of the divine nature. My rhymes tell my story, they convey each step I’ve taken in my journey towards personal freedom. My books are dedicated to my lovely girlfriend Alaina, who helped me see my worth and grasp the meaning of unconditional love. Growing up I always felt the call to do something beyond the norm, to follow my heart regardless of what others told me I was. Beneath everything I find myself called to put out my message, my heart-song. It's very easy to forget that life is completely subject to each individual choice made, and writing these rhymes helped me grasp the potential of trusting my true self. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Forever I’ve been looking for comfort, bleeding in the corner. Screaming I’m not a victim, when the facts can barely support it. I re-victimize myself every day, and In my thoughts I ponder. Can I find a way to escape, or will I finally start moving forward? Do I have to run away, or will I rise above the slaughter? There has to be a better way, and I will walk the path beside her. Not a thing can save the day, but in our love I’ve found, Forever. A poem by modern_sooth --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Strength Beyond Words Become who you are, my moon and stars. You have a strength beyond words, that can replace all your scars. You’ve traveled so far, And forgotten who you are. But no matter how far, Nothing’s ripped us apart. You found strength in your heart, and released years of hurt. You have courage beyond words, that expands as we search. You reached in and found her, the little girl trapped by the shed. She was shaking and hurt, and you gave her your hand. You’re a woman now, for sure, now that you’ve been left for dead. You have a strength beyond words, because you chose truth before death. A poem by modern_sooth --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Full Poem. Abandoned, disgraced, rejected, erased So embarrassed of my body that I ate up all my pain Always so bitter looking for my Mrs. Sweet I was downing Little Debbies always looking at my feet Wore the shame on my face and you’d hear it in my voice Not a choice I could make without feeling like a toy Played with by the world and my family did the same Every night in the mirror I’d have myself to blame I can’t go back but I remember where I started, Right here I choose the path to heal the broken hearted. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
