In February 2025, the Fifth Circuit issued an opinion in United States v. Peterson, ruling that suppressors were not "firearms" and thus not subject to Second Amendment protection.George Peterson was the proprietor of PDW Solutions, LLC, a firearm business that he operated in part out of his home. In summer of 2022, as part of an ongoing Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) investigation, a search warrant was executed at his home. Among the items discovered was an unregistered suppressor. Peterson was indicted for possession of the unregistered suppressor under the National Firearms Act (NFA). He filed a motion to dismiss on the grounds that the NFA's registration framework violated the Second Amendment and that the search by the ATF violated the Fourth Amendment so the evidence obtained thereby should be suppressed.The district court in the Eastern District of Louisiana denied both motions. Peterson appealed and the Fifth Circuit heard argument on December 4, 2024. Ep #296 - Hope in the Uncertainty - An Interview with Medium, Hollister Rand  I am so excited to share this fun and insightful conversation of Empowering Chats with my guest Hollister Rand. All of my circuits are lit up. Hollister is a medium and the author of, "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the Afterlife but were Afraid to Ask.” In this chat, Hollister and I dive into interesting topics and this new state of awareness of how we live, not only here but in the afterlife.  I received Hollister's book as a gift from one of my students and after reading it I knew I had to have her on Empowering Chats. She describes the difference between Mediums and Psychics as follows: Mediums and Psychics can often get the same kinds of information but the source is different. Psychics get their information from people, places and things here on this earth plan. Whereas Mediums connect with spirits, spirit guides, angels, pets and those that have passed on to the other side. Hollister believes that more of our ancestors are making themselves known to people now because we are reaching out more and doing the ask. And having organizations like Ancestry.com and 23 and Me gives us the tools we need to reach out. And for this reason, Hollister believes tribes and more ancestors are showing up in the spirit world and making themselves known to loved ones on earth's plane. Hollister also shares that when you are aligned with spirit you don't have to figure out your life. The strategy for your life changes. Her direct quote is to “Live in confidence of the next step.” It's not about knowing it's about having the confidence to take the next step. Hope lies in the uncertainty. This is a direct message that Hollister received from spirit.  This is where the best can happen by allowing the possibilities to present themselves and not limiting ourselves by our own self-doubt. Hollister calls this place of all possibilities “The Place of No Fragments.” And I'd like to share a quote from her book that supports the place of no fragments: “A place where everything fits together, where it all makes sense, where we not only see the big picture but are also an integral part of it. Sounds as though this oneness is what spirits want to share with us. One puzzle piece at a time.” Ultimately Hollister feels that love is the answer. We have heard it so many times. And this is a love that we are only beginning to understand, the love of self. Because only from that spring of self-love can we spread love to everyone else on this planet. Fred Coulter Presents: The Stranger That is Within Thee Today, The Two Mikes spoke with Fred Coulter, the pastor of the Christian Biblical Church of Christ in Hollister, California. As Christians are marking Holy Week, Mr. Coulter threw a bracing bucket of cold water on the increasingly severe mistakes that Christians are taught throughout their lives, and by which they live their lives, while passing on inaccurate beliefs to their children. We spoke to Mr. Coulter for over an hour and there follows a summary of the several points he made. --Christians of the Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox faiths follow a version of Easter that was never observed by the Apostles. As on many other issues this world lives on the basis of lies. --Easter and Holy Week are not to be found in the Bible in the way we now celebrate them. As Ezekiel says in Chapter 8, God cannot be worshiped with lies and pagan theology.

Reflecting on the recent Halloween celebration, Mr. Coulter said that most people ignore the fact that the day of the celebration is really the day on which the martyrdom of St. Valentine is remembered and honored. The day that is now celebrated is a day for the pagans which began in Rome as a holiday for the fertility of women. Currently, Halloween Day is not only a celebration of paganism, but even more a day of honoring Satan and the depravity he brings. Even the Catholic Church has surrendered and poses no objection to Catholics celebrating Halloween and its demonstration of depravity.

Developer Third Millennium Partners has overseen the project from start to finish, with insights from golf architect Gene Bates—designer of the original course in 1996, along with PGA TOUR golfer and World Golf Hall of Fame member Fred Couples—who returned to modernize the layout in January 2022. The comprehensive restoration involved regrassing the entire course, including tees and fairways with perennial ryegrass, 007XL bentgrass on the greens and new drought-resistant Bermuda grass on the practice range. Installation of a new pump station and irrigation system reduces overwatering and achieves better playing conditions. A sinkhole at Bunker Hill Golf Course in Dubuque, Iowa, first appearing in May 2023, has raised concerns among local residents and golfers. The sinkhole, located near the 17th hole, measures 11 feet deep and exposes a limestone shelf, indicating a collapse into an underlying mineshaft. The golf course is situated above an old limestone mine, a common feature in the area, and sinkholes are not uncommon in the region due to the topography and historical mining activity. The City of Dubuque's Leisure Services Department, in collaboration with the engineering department, is actively working on a solution. Officials have confirmed that the depth of the sinkhole has remained stable, and the city is preparing to hire an outside company to repair it. The area has been fenced off and covered with plywood to ensure safety, and the city advises people to avoid the site. It's a new Taylor! Rebecca Budig is the new actress who plays Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. Budig took over the role in August 2024, replacing Krista Allen, who played Taylor from 2021 to 2024 8) Will is back, and he is grown up!Will is encouraging his parents Dollar Bill and Katie back together. Today Dollar Bill turns on the charm with Katie Logan. Dollar Bill sure falls in and out of love fast! On October 18, 2011, TJ Murray, a 23-year-old beloved son and brother, went bar hopping with a friend in Spring, Texas. After getting into altercations at a few bars, TJ was last seen walking away from "Rookies Sports Bar" at 12:37 am on what was now the 19th. During the subsequent investigation, detectives came to the conclusion that TJ was murdered after he left the bar. However, despite many searches, his remains have never been located. It's been over 12 years since TJ disappeared, and his family is still desperate for answers… TJ Murray was last seen at 12:37 am on October 19, 2011, walking south from Rookies Sports Bar on Sawdust Road in Spring, Texas.  At that time, TJ was five feet, six inches tall and weighed about 140 pounds. He has blue eyes, and short blonde hair. When he disappeared, he was wearing a red T-shirt with a white “Hollister” bird logo, khaki shorts, gray sneakers, and a dark colored baseball cap.
