Welcome back! This episode we discuss what happened in November and December regarding impeachment, and what the means going forward for the President as well as the election. Also, who's gone and who's left in the run for Democratic Nominee. We only have a few short weeks until the Iowa Caucus, which is the beginning and one of the most important events in what we call "Primary Season". Lastly, we briefly recap the debate from January 16th. And of course we talk about the Bachelor. #PickUsChooseUsLoveUs
We're a little late, but here is the coverage from the 10/15 Democratic Primary Debate. Topics Include : Healthcare. And that's pretty much it. Also, what is the purpose of mushrooms? Why is everyone coming for Elizabeth Warren? Is Bernie okay?? Next Debate is November 20th. Until then, #PickUs #ChooseUs #LoveUs
After taking a few weeks off to adjust to new schedules and give our selves some space from the tragic horror that is the 24 hour news cycle, we sit down with our pumpkin spiced coffee and get right back to work. What is there to discuss other than the impending impeachment of POTUS? Robert breaks down what that process looks like and what we could be looking at over the next year as the election draws closer. Also, who's gone + still here for the Democrats, what happened to Joe Biden's dentures, and why House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy still eats ass. Pick Us, Choose Us, Love Us.
This episode we put the 2020 election (mostly) on the back burner to discuss more major news from the past few weeks that ties into the political sphere. We give you all a recap of the month of July/Cancer season and what we've been up to since the last episode and how we've been handling the retrogrades. We go into a brief tangent about The Bachelorette and what occurred during this weeks Fantasy Suites. We felt this necessary to discuss because the Hannah/Luke P. drama is indicative of the male-dominated culture we live in. Hannah stood up for herself + women everywhere this week when she FINALLY sent Luke home and shut down his toxic patriarchal "future wife requirements". It may not be politics, but it's the current face of American culture and she rocked it in true feminist fashion. Most notable topics this episode -Next round of debates (July 30th + 31st) -Candidates that are gone / new candidates -AOC/Nancy Pelosi -Donald Trump's racist tweets + the House Resolution -Jeffrey Epstein #PickUs#ChooseUs#LoveUs Don't forget to follow us on Instagram @polidickspodcast www.polidickspodcast.com
One of the biggest questions coming out of the debates: Why does Marianne Williamson sound like an MGM actress from 1938? This episode we cover Night 1 and 2 of the Democratic Debates. In true Polid!cks fashion we discuss the absolute essentials : who fucked it all up and who was bringing that Democratic Daddy swag. But really, here are the specifics of our conversation.. -Mueller getting subpoenaed to testify -Conditions of the children in migrant detention facilities -Who did well / did not do well / most notable moments of Night 1 -Who did well / did not do well / most notable moments of Night 2 Some deeper questions.. Is America ready for an LGBTQ President? Is America ready for a female President of color? Is it fair to go after someone for something they said/did 40 years ago? Why is everyone speaking Spanish? Really, what is going on with Marianne Williamson?? Here are a few goodies we promised https://togetherrising.org/how-you-can-help-end-child-detention-horrors-today/ Together Rising is a non-profit designating their funds to end the chaos and tragedy occurring in the child detention facilities. We regret to inform you that Seth Moulton did not make it to the debate stage this coming week. We are mostly saddened by this because how fun would it be to have a President Seth? As always, we cover the 2020 Democratic polls and talk about the front runners going into the debates. Debates take place over two nights, Wednesday, 6/26 and Thursday 6/27, and includes top candidates each night. You can follow us on Instagram to see the infographic we posted from Politico showing who is going on which night. We also discuss different issues that have arisen in the past weeks. Is Biden and/or Bernie representative of the current generation? Has slavery reparations always been apart of political discussions? Is a gun buy-back program the beginning of the government infringing on our rights? Can people living hand to mouth afford to think about climate change? Impeachment talk has died down, as the modern day news cycle does not hold tight to one headline very long. As promised, here are links for abortion laws by state. https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/16/politics/states-abortion-laws/index.html Also, here is more information on the crisis in Sudan and how you can help. https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/13/africa/sudan-crisis-overview-trnd/index.html https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/13/africa/how-to-help-sudan-trnd/index.html
Impeachment is all the rage right now in Washington. Pretty much everyone aside from Nancy Pelosi is calling for impeachment proceedings to begin. We talk sporadically about impeachment, as well as many other issues that were prevalent in the news last week. We discuss the president and how he treats and talks about other politicians, as well as Robert Mueller finally making an appearance and speaking out about the Mueller Report. We venture off into some other topics, like is The Bachelorette anti-feminist? Are we ever going to stop talking about The View? James and the Giant Impeachment is a running list of all our political conversations this week, and then some.
If you're even remotely paying attention, you've heard about the Human Life Protection Act in Alabama that restricts abortion in any and all circumstances. Following in its lead are Heartbeat Bills being signed in Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, and many other states. We discuss the ramifications of laws like this, and *our thoughts* on what it means to be pro-choice or pro-life. Are we on our way to Gilead? Does taking a life supersede a woman's right to make decisions for herself? Should lawmakers be responsible for regulating medical procedures? Hear what we have to say and how we approach this topic with as much grace as we could manage. Given the content, the language is more explicit than previous episodes. If you're as outraged as we are about these laws, please consider donating your money and or time to any one of these organizations. American Civil Liberties Union The Yellow Hammer Fund - Alabama Planned Parenthood Pro-Choice Ohio Women in Need Fund - National Network of Abortion Funds - Georgia
In this episode, we talk about the Mueller report and the way it was delivered by William Barr, and whether or not he needs to resign as Attorney General. We also discuss who's leading and falling in the polls, and introduce another democratic candidate. Later on, we talk about the first amendment and how it relates to our current climate of mass shootings and radicalization.
This episode covers the 4 trillion people running for president, the three newest candidates that recently announced, as well as some important news that's occurred over the last two weeks. Town halls are a must, so important questions are covered as we wait for the June debates.
