Send us a textThe first stop of the primary season is in Iowa. It is an important stop on the pathway to the Presidential Nomination in both parties. In 1992, President George H. W. Bush was way out in front and his challenger, Pat Buchanan, decided not to contest him in Iowa, and on the Democratic side Iowa Senator Tom Harkin was running and therefore the Democrats decided not to invest to much energy there either. But we are going to start there in Iowa. Then move you over to New Hampshire where at this point in the campaign both front runners are hemorrhaging badly to their challengers. Bill Clinton gets bogged down in two personal scandals, one concerning infidelity and an Arkansas lounge singer named Gennifer Flowers, and the other one about his attempt to dodge the draft and steer clear of the Vietnam War. The result of both of these scandals is Clinton drops from a clear frontrunner to battling to stay alive with Tom Harkin and Bob Kerry on his heels. He will spend this week trying to stop the bleeding, and as we shall see on election night, he does. Then President Bush is in a tug of war with television commentator Pat Buchanan. Buchanan wants to put "America First", to stop getting into trade deals, and stop providing foreign aid. His main theme is that the elite, personified by George Bush, don't care about you, and make decisions to the detriment of the working class. He wants to "Make America First Again", sound familiar.  That message is resonating in a New Hampshire then in the throws of a tough recession. In this episode, we will stop off in Iowa and then venture over to New Hampshire and the eve of the hard fought New Hampshire Primary and in both primary races they will serve up some surprises.  Questions or comments at , Randalrgw1@aol.com , https://twitter.com/randal_wallace , and http://www.randalwallace.com/Please Leave us a review at wherever you get your podcastsThanks for listening!!

Following former President Trump's decisive victory over former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire Primary, many Republicans called for the party to unite and focus on the general election against President Biden. One of those Republicans was Kansas Senator Roger Marshall. He thinks the GOP needs to stop fighting among itself and work to put an end to what he sees as the Biden Administration's harmful policies on the border and the economy. Sen. Marshall joined host Dave Anthony on the Rundown to discuss his support for Trump, the border crisis, and what he hopes a potential bipartisan immigration bill should look like. The Kansas Senator, who is a physician as well, also weighed in on the ongoing investigation into the origins of COVID and what he thinks the American people will learn as Dr. Anthony Fauci, former Director at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and other health officials from that period continue to get scrutinized by Congress. We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear our entire conversation with Kansas Senator Roger Marshall. On today's FOX News Rundown Extra, you'll hear even more of his take on the 2024 presidential race, the border crisis, and what he sees as a cover-up surrounding the origins of COVID-19. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode: 3:05pm- On Tuesday, New Hampshire held its Republican presidential primary with Donald Trump ultimately defeating Nikki Haley 54% to 43%. Meanwhile, despite not being sanctioned by the Democratic National Committee and consequently awarding no delegates, President Joe Biden defeated Rep. Dean Phillips 55% to 20%. Biden did not appear on the ballot—citing New Hampshire's refusal to permit South Carolina from becoming the party's first primary state—though his supporters did organize an extensive write-in campaign. 3:20pm- During a CNN panel discussion, political commentator Van Jones reacted to Donald Trump's victory in New Hampshire—arguing that President Joe Biden's general election opponent has now been established. He advised Biden to “stay hidden” and let his surrogates campaign on his behalf. 3:25pm- After a five-day Covid-instigated weekend, Matt returns to The Rich Zeoli Show. Rich and Henry mock him, though he believes he should be hailed as heroic for taking precautions and not getting anyone else sick. 3:30pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the Biden Administration has the authority to remove concertina wire erected by Texas officials along the U.S. Southern border—designed to prevent the unlawful border crossings that continue to plague the state. According to reports, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has continued to place “razor wire” along the border—arguing that the Supreme Court may have authorized the federal government to remove the wiring, but he remains legally permitted to use the wire when he deems it necessary. 3:35pm- During a White House press briefing, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby denied that the use of concertina wire prevented migrants from crossing the U.S. Southern border unlawfully. 3:50pm- Moron & Moron Law: Were you injured by razor wire? Well, Rich and Mike Opelka have an exciting new law firm that may be able to help you! 4:05pm- Dave McCormick—Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania & former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush Administration—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to talk about his campaign to unseat Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA). During the interview, he emphasizes the need to secure the U.S. Southern border. He also notes that Sen. Casey has recently endorsed a member of Congress who has regularly espoused anti-Semitic sentiments. You can learn more about his campaign here: https://www.davemccormickpa.com 4:20pm- Frank Kummer of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “New Jersey officials, stung last year when a major offshore wind developer backed out the state's first big project, moved ahead on Wednesday by approving two more utility-scale projects for off the coast, but this time much farther out to sea. The state's Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved the projects totaling 3.7 gigawatts, or enough to power about 1.6 million homes, according to the companies. BPU staff, however, put the number at about 1.8 million homes.” You can read the full article here: https://www.inquirer.com/business/energy/new-jersey-offshore-wind-phil-murphy-20240124.html 4:30pm- According to CNN exit polling, 70% of the New Hampshire voters that cast their primary ballots for Nikki Haley in Tuesday's Republican presidential primary were not registered as Republicans—instead they were “undeclared” registrants. The next race will take place in Nevada. Interestingly, Haley will appear on the state's primary ballot but will not participate in the state's caucus which means she will be ineligible to receive delegates in the contest. Trump, however, is competing in the Nevada caucus. 4:35pm- MSNBC's Joy Reid suggested that, despite losing the New Hampshire primary by double-digits, Nikki Haley should remain in the race just in case frontrunner Donald Trump is ultimately convicted of crimes that prevent him from holding office. 4:45pm- Prior to the New Hampshire primary results, former president Donald Trump said he “couldn't care less” if Nikki Haley remains in the race or drops out—arguing that the Republican party has already consolidated behind him. 4:50pm- CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig notes that the alleged improper relationship between lead prosecutor in the Donald Trump Georgia election interference criminal case, Nathan Wade, and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is problematic and “raises legitimate questions about the D.A.” 5:05pm- Frank Kummer of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “New Jersey officials, stung last year when a major offshore wind developer backed out the state's first big project, moved ahead on Wednesday by approving two more utility-scale projects for off the coast, but this time much farther out to sea. The state's Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved the projects totaling 3.7 gigawatts, or enough to power about 1.6 million homes, according to the companies. In doing so, the judges at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals confirmed what innocent victims of the raid and their attorneys have been arguing for years: that the FBI overstepped the bounds of its warrant issued in the case and failed to follow proper protocol when federal agents cracked open safe-deposit boxes, ran the contents past drug-sniffing dogs, and tried to seize some of the money and other valuables found in the boxes. The 9th Circuit's ruling pivots on a detail of the case that Reason first highlighted more than a year ago: the existence of so-called ‘supplemental instructions' for the handling of the safe-deposit boxes seized at U.S. Private Vaults in Beverly Hills.” You can read the full article here: https://reason.com/2024/01/23/appeals-court-fbis-safe-deposit-box-seizures-violated-fourth-amendment/ 5:15pm- If you buy the digital copy of a film or book, the holder of that intellectual property's copyright reserves the right to edit the original content. Should we be buying physical copies of books moving forward? 5:20pm- During a television interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, Senator John Fetterman accused Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey Senate candidate, and NJ First Lady, Tammy Murphy of spending years protecting allegedly corrupt U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ). 5:25pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the Biden Administration has the authority to remove concertina wire erected by Texas officials along the U.S. Southern border—designed to prevent the unlawful border crossings that continue to plague the state. According to reports, Gov. SEASON 2, EPISODE 110: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: THIS IS TUESDAY JANUARY 23rd, THE EIGHTH DAY OF TRUMP'S DEMENTIA CRISIS: While Trump and his defenders quadruple-down on the Orwellian lie that he MEANT to conflate Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi and January 6th, Trump adds a new reason for serious concern about his mental stability. In an interview in New Hampshire for the primary, Trump is asked about Haley's insistence he is not competent and in one answer invokes Dr. Ronny Jackson, can't remember his name, recalls it, moves to a different topic, and then brings up Ronny Jackson again - as if for the first time. There's a reason Ron DeSantis did NOT end his campaign, but, like Ramaswamy, only suspended it. Like Haley, they both know that something above-and-beyond all previous problems has hit Trump and they will stay quietly and obediently in the background until it - or something else - comes and gets him. There is little to report from New Hampshire, though the networks and newspapers will report it anyway. They will also tell you that Trump did better in Iowa than he will in the Granite State even though the reverse is true - because math may be hard but bucking the conventional wisdom is harder. Trump got 51% of the voters (and 7% of all Republicans) in Iowa. He may get 57% in N.H. That would be MORE. B-Block (20:23) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: It's time for The New York Times to stop publishing the same column Maureen Dowd has rewritten every week since 1997; how NOT to suppress the news in Colorado (28:25) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The DeSantis War Room loses the battle of South CAROLINIA. When not to sue because the ladies trashed you on Facebook. And when they invite you to sing at Dolly Parton's birthday and you start swearing and The Grand Old Opry has to apologize for - your career is over. C-Block (33:05) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: A friend gave me some winter clothing bearing her company's logo and I flashed back to this time in 1980 when United Press International gave me my official Lake Placid Winter Olympics parka and...the lining wasn't fur or down or foam but CONSTRUCTION PAPER.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SERIES 2 EPISODE 108: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: ONE of these days ONE of these judges will have to take the bullshit by the horns and jail Trump overnight for contempt of court. He made a mockery of all the laws of the nation again yesterday in New York and must be punished. Clearly somebody or something has punished him for something. Three or four red marks have suddenly sprouted on his right hand. James Carville thinks they're evidence of the secondary stage of syphilis. I think they're more consistent with an old man slipping on ice and grabbing something to try to stop himself from face-planting. But I'm sure Trump will claim they're stigmata. America's constipated political pundits have finally figured out that the interior numbers from Iowa confirm he didn't crush ANYTHING there; in fact only 8% of Iowa's Republicans voted for him! Oh and Nikki Haley is up to 38% in New Hampshire. Trump might not be the only one disqualified under the 14th Amendment. Representative Dan Goldman has moved to censure Representative Elise "Hostages" Stefanik B-Block (21:15) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: The fascists are going to get another win out of the Supreme Court. Marjorie Taylor Greene sets herself up for another dick-pic joke. (25:23) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Argentina's New President - the guy in the Wolverine costume - blames the world's ills on feminism. The Babylon Bee's best bit of satire is its belief that it's funny. Ben Carson says why not concentration camps? The migrants have to have a place to stay! C-Block (30:35) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Beaten puppy Sweet Cheeks needs our help in North Carolina. (32:05) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Trump's rage against MSNBC for not worshiping him enough is actually not something new. The Republicans think they can get away with bullying MSNBC because they succeeded at it as long ago as 2008 - with me - and with the help of Tom Brokaw.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: Zack Smith—Legal Fellow and Manager of the Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy Program in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit hearing arguments on Tuesday to determine the validity of Donald Trump's presidential immunity defense in his federal election subversion indictment. If the presidential immunity defense is dismissed, does that mean former president Barack Obama could be held accountable for his authorization of drone strikes which resulted in the death of an American citizen? On a recent episode of The Journal podcast, New Hampshire voters revealed that they are changing their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican prior to the state's January 23rd primary. Because they can't vote for their preferred candidate—Joe Biden—as he won't appear on the ballot following a Democrat National Committee feud with the state over scheduling dates, many Democrat voters are now registering as Republicans in order to vote against Donald Trump, supporting rival candidates like Nikki Haley and Chris Christie. Democrats have seemingly destroyed their own New Hampshire primary, are they impacting the Republican primary as well? During a Fox News town hall event on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley accused her primary opponent Donald Trump of orchestrating chaos. Lisa Kashinsky of Politico writes: “The New Hampshire attorney general's office is accusing the Democratic National Committee of engaging in unlawful voter suppression after the national party dismissed the state's upcoming primary as ‘meaningless.' Assistant Attorney General Brendan O'Donnell on Monday fired off a cease-and-desist order to the DNC, saying that instructing state Democrats to ‘educate the public' that the primary is ‘meaningless' violates the state's voter suppression laws.” You can read the full article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/08/new-hampshire-attorney-general-dnc-voter-suppression-primary-00134378 Steven Nelson and Josh Christenson of The New York Post write: “First son Hunter Biden's Manhattan art dealer shared details Tuesday about purchasers of the first son's novice works—while contradicting the White House's claim that officials brokered an ethics arrangement to keep buyer identities anonymous to prevent corruption. Georges Bergès said that Hunter, 53, actually knew who bought about 70% of his art—including Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, whom the dealer revealed purchased works by the first son both before and after scoring a prestigious appointment from President Biden.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2024/01/09/news/hunter-biden-knew-most-of-his-art-buyers-despite-ethics-plan-dealer-says/

SERIES 2 EPISODE 101: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: For the second time in as many days and the fourth time in one week, Trump has gotten the message out to the Justices of the Supreme Court - and especially the three he appointed - that they'd better rule in favor of Trump in the 14th Amendment and Presidential Immunity cases because he put them there. Attorney Alina Habba did it again, again on Fox. Wednesday it was in the afternoon; last night it was in prime time. The message is loud and clear, and God knows with the utter corruption of the conservatives on THIS court you could never convict anybody of doing anything, but this is either an illegal threat AGAINST Justice Brett Kavanaugh and others, or it is the back half of an illegal quid pro quo. Habba said she "had faith" in "people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place. He'll step up." A week ago today Maggie Haberman went on CNN and said Trump feared SCOTUS might rule against him because it was trying to look balanced. On Tuesday, his first simpleton attorney Christina Bobb said that any ruling - even one declaring that Trump was guilty of insurrection - would be irrelevant if the people wanted Trump as their ruler. Wednesday, Habba insisted that "Republicans" (she meant Supreme Court Justices) "unfortunately  sometimes shy away from being pro-Trump because they feel that even if the law's on our side they might be swayed much like the Democratic side would be, right? So they're trying so hard to look neutral that sometimes they make the wrong call." The political pressure is astonishing, even for Trump. And in the light of his stochastic terrorism against Justices Engoron and Chutkan, it is intolerable, and it portends true threats against any justice Trump feels hasn't been "loyal" to him.  THERE MIGHT be good news out of New Hampshire: one poll shows Trump leading Nikki Haley by just four points with two weeks until the primary. There was also a good opening advertising salvo by the Biden campaign against the threat Trump is manifesting. And the same Alina Habba went on another streaming show and insisted that given the choice between being smart or pretty she'd choose pretty because "I can fake being smart." Well, no, sorry. You clearly can't. B-Block (32:20) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Like every other rich fascist before him, Elon Musk wants to destroy the National Labor Relations Board. Politico has a good joke at his expense. RFK Jr's Super Pac apparently made it up about Dionne Warwick AND Martin Sheen. And the Associated Press article that actually headlines Bothsidesism on tomorrow's 3rd Anniversary of Trump's January 6th Coup: “One Attack, Two Interpretations: Biden And Trump Both Make The January 6 Riot A Political Rallying Cry.” C-Block (40:30) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: In 1913 just as in 2024, people are likeliest to believe the dumbest, the most outrageous, the least believable thing. James Thurber commemorates "The Day The Dam Burst" in Columbus, Ohio, the most noteworthy feature of which was, the DAM DID NOT BURST.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
