This is Questionable, a podcast where we review romcoms and compare it to our own questionable love lives. Search "Questionable Podcast" on Apple Podcasts and Google Play Music.
This movie had like a billion mediocre storylines woven into one big long confusing and awful story line. Watch at your own risk.
Meaghan chose this movie and then pulled a runaway bride on us. So we got our friend Charlie to step up to the altar and guest host with us! Thank you, Charlie!
You'll always be a part of me. Except maybe not. We deem this movie... forgettable.
If we were Julia Roberts in this movie, would we be good prostitutes? BONUS: Eric reviews the live action Aladdin movie.
Apparently boys don't actually go skinny dipping.
Katey Miller is not like most girls. She brings a sweater and a book to the pool.
You ever pretend jerked-off a baby corn with your ex-spouse? (Or maybe it was a baby carrot...)Then this movie is for you.
DAPHNE DOESN'T SHARE FOOD (unless by prior agreement).
WHAT A FEELING this early 80s movies gave us. Many close up shots of Alex running in place. No shots of her doing any ballet.
The big debate: Did Emma Stone's character SING at her audition?
Eric rated this movie from an "ok to a good" so I think that's a win.
The ultimate question: Would you date someone who has scissor hands?
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to listen to the ramblings of three people discuss "My Best Friend's Wedding" (1997). Talking points include who is America's new sweetheart, Eric and his distaste for the treatment of suits in this movie, and a special Karaoke break by Meaghan.
Just like in the movie, "A Star Is Born" (2018), we sing A LOT in this episode. Also we get very spoiler-y in this episode. Talking points include ranch hands, men who steal the spotlight from women and a bonus portion on bidets! Listen up!
WE ARE BACK! After a brief hiatus (watches Crazy Rich Asians once, flies to Asia ASAP) we come bearing gifts for each other! And a gift for you—this episode about "Made of Honor" (2008). Find out who is more compatible with Eric, Meaghan or Daphne and listen to us discuss whether this was actually a good movie.
THIS MOVIE. What can we say about "Crazy Rich Asians" (2018) that hasn't been said before? This wonderful, perfect, amazing romcom is what we all need in our time of need. Other topics of discussion include how this movie makes us feel, as asians ourselves, and how Eric might just not like romcoms...
And I said, "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?" She said, "I think I remember the film" Basically how our conversation starts about this old gem that is "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961). In rare fashion, we all liked this movie! Topics include racism, Holly Golightly's fashion and occasional fawning about the cat named "Cat".
Well here we go... "The Notebook"(2004). Another sappy love story, more rom than com. But at least we know for sure how to incite ire at a dinner party the next time someone brings up this GD movie that is so beloved for some reason. We talk about our own dating lives at the age of 17 (not great), whether we think Mr. Sparks is a creep (he might be?) and what kind of men Daphne doesn't think are acceptable (She kids. Sort of.)
WHAT a wedding it was. "Muriel's Wedding" (1994) is more than a romance and more than a comedy. It's about finding out that you're more than just a "Mariel". Listen as we hear why Meg found this movie sad and how it scarred her for life when she first watched it as a 7 year old. And no, we don't do any Australia accents.
As if! Like, this movie had us totally bugging about whether it's ok to date your step-brother, even if he is such a Baldwin. That's right... we're talking "Clueless"(1995). We dive into the fashion and talk about the different high school cliques and whether Cher was actually a good character. Also, did you know Christian was gay? Daphne didn't...
Episode 5 brings us "You've Got Mail" (1998)! We talk about whether Tom Hanks is attractive and was his character a jerk? Also, what do we think about their email banter between the two main characters. Is it endearing? Or is it just cringey... Also, listen in on the definition of cinematography! (You can thank Eric for that) So check your dial up connection and log onto AOL because "you've got mail!"
Episode 4 coming your way! We discuss "500 Days of Summer" (2009) and how much Eric loves this movie, Daphne hates it, and Meg is completely apathetic to this male-centric rom-com. Long live indie rock.
We did it! Episode 3 is here. We've got "Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) on the docket today and it turns out we all really love this movie. Who doesn't. Listen in as we go over memorable movie lines, talk about whether Meg would date Jason Segel and if Eric prefers blondes.
We are BACK for Round 2 of Questionable Podcast! Listen in as we talk about "Before Sunrise" (1995), which is more rom than com. Find out why Eric loved this movie and Meg... didn't. Certain parts that deserve honourable mentions: cans clearly being opened in the audio, Daphne doing a German accent(twice) and Meg's apathetic sighs in the background.
Here it is! The first instalment of "Questionable". Follow along as we discuss the rom-com "What's Your Number?" (2011) and compare it to our own love lives as we get increasingly drunk and disorderly. Let's listen! *Daphne promises to not speak so much in episode two. But she will make no promises to not get as drunk.
