Was steckt dahinter?
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of Mission Matters, Adam Torres interviews Luke Tennie and Noam Shapiro, Lead Actors, Producers & Writers at Dirty Coffee Pictures, about their award-winning short film JADE and its FilmShortage streaming premiere (January 14th). They share how they collaborated from a fast-writing process to a polished short designed as a calling card—and how they're using the release to build momentum toward a potential series. About Luke Tennie Luke Tennie grew up in South Florida, the youngest of three. Upon graduating from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2016, Luke booked his very first film audition, Shock & Awe (alongside: Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, James Marsden) with Rob Reiner at the helm. Since then, his career has become a steady crescendo as he's gone on to star in Deadly Class (Benedict Wong, Lana Condor), Snowfall, Safety (Disney+), CSI: Vegas, Players (Paramount+), and most recently Shrinking, written by the Emmy-award winning team of Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein & Bill Lawrence as well as Jason Segel, starring none other than Harrison Ford in his television debut on AppleTV+.” About Noam Shapiro Noam is a native New Yorker, currently based in the Bronx. He previously held a decade-long rap career, where he learned the basics of stage-craft, rhythm, and storytelling. Noam has worked on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, The Kill Room (opposite Samuel L. Jackson & Uma Thurman), American Horror Story, Lady In The Lake (opposite Natalie Portman), Powerbook II: Ghost, and Let The Right One In.” Noam is an acting professor at AMDA NY. On this week's episode we wrap up our time with the Judd Apatow comedies and an awkward trip to Hawaii with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Journey with us as we discuss this wild cast and the fun screenplay that comes from actor Jason Segel. Listen as we quote this film up and down and breakdown all those amazing supporting characters. Is this a modern comedy classic or is this another standard break-up movie? So pour some rye, grab your Dracula puppet, and get ready because the weather outside is weather. Cheers!

Writer, producer and director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People) is truly a comedy legend. He's behind some of the most successful TV and film comedies of the last couple decades, and he helped discover the likes of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and Lena Dunham. Not only that, he changed comedy forever by proving that awkwardness and insecurity could gross $100 million. But at the end of the day, Judd is really just a big nerd. Specifically, a big “Comedy Nerd,” which is the title of his new memoir. Judd sits down with Tom Power to talk about his lifelong obsession with comedy, the stand-up set he saw that changed his life, how he had to watch his former roommate Adam Sandler become famous before he did, the importance of a great mentor (in his case, the comedian Garry Shandling), and what he means when he says his early projects were “cool enough to fail.”Fill out our listener survey here. Mia Goth is the latest actor shedding a bit of light on the long-shelved Blade movie from Marvel Studios. In an interview with Elle, promoting her upcoming appearance in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Goth shared only that she is still attached to the film and commented that “It's for the best that it's taken the time it has. They want to do it right.” This is in line with Kevin Feige's comments this summer that the film is still moving forward. In an interview with the AP this week, Adam Driver dropped some major information about the Ben Solo movie in Star Wars that never was. Driver explained that Lucasfilm was interested in continuing his character's story in a film that had a script written by Steven Soderbergh. Driver was supportive of the script and the creative team took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman at Disney who turned the project down as they “didn't see how Ben Solo was alive.” Fan favorites Amber Midthunder and Walton Goggins will star in a new action movie from the creator of the John Wick franchise. The film, called Painter, has a major executive producer credit - with Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron serving in that role. Stunt coordinator Garrett Warren, who worked with Cameron on the last two Avatars as well as Logan and the Road House reboot, is directing the movie; a debut effort. The movie's plot will focus on Midthunder's character, trained as a child who must save her father after he is kidnapped.Lightning RoundKate McKinnon has joined the cast of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 3 and will play Aphrodite.Jim Carrey is in talks to star in a live action film adaptation of The Jetsons from Warner Bros. Nominated for an Emmy for his starring role in Shrinking, Jason Segel has proven his versatility across dramas and comedies over the last 20 years. In this sitdown from October 2024, Segel opens up to Willie Geist about working alongside Harrison Ford in Shrinking, his long run of comedies from Forgetting Sarah Marshall to How I Met Your Mother, and the life-changing advice he received from Judd Apatow.
Jason Segel starred in Freaks and Geeks, How I Met Your Mother, Knocked Up. But he's also an accomplished writer and creator. He wrote the classic romcom Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and revived The Muppets for a new generation. When Jesse talked to Segel in 2020, Jason had just created the weird and wonderful TV drama Dispatches from Elsewhere - a show he says put him "out of his comfort zone." He'll talk about that, and what makes the Dracula song in Forgetting Sarah Marshall... unforgettable. You can catch him on the Apple TV+ show Shrinking, where he stars opposite Harrison Ford.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy
The Emmys hit Sunday September 14 and on this episode of The Rehashables we are loaded with takes. We gush about Nate Bargatze hosting, run category by category, and make bold but lovable picks. The Studio to headline comedy with Seth Rogen vs Jason Segel for Lead Actor, Jean Smart and Jessica Williams lurking, Brian Cranston and Zoe Kravitz for those scene stealing cameos. On drama we are backing Severance to sweep, show love to Andor, size up White Lotus, Paradise, The Pit, Diplomat, and Slow Horses. Limited Series race is Adolescence vs The Penguin, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti get flowers, and teen phenom Owen Cooper is our "dont overthink it" pick. We close with watchlist fuel HBOs Task, Alien: Earth, Peacemaker Season 2, Netflix's Unknown Sender Catfish, and a quick Stephen King detour The Long Walk. Football all day, Emmys all night, lets argue.
This week on a special episode of The Business, Kim Masters talks with Shrinking co-creator and star Jason Segel, recorded live at KCRW’s Annenberg Performance Studio. Segel looks back on highlights from Freaks and Geeks, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and The Muppets. He also discusses how Shrinking, now nominated for five Emmys, came together with co-creators Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein. Plus, after closing the $8 billion Paramount Global deal with David Ellison’s Skydance, Shari Redstone tells her story in a New York Times interview: boardroom drama, her doubts about the Ellisons, and the Trump settlement that cleared regulatory hurdles. Matt Belloni and Lucas Shaw dig in.

It's a Pop Culture Thursday on the JTrain Podcast, and Jared kicks things off with Barbra Streisand's “penetration” memoir moment (yep, you read that right). From there, he dives into the absurdities of reality TV, Lindsay Hubbard bringing her baby to the Summer House, and the hilariously overhyped “epic” birthday party for North West. Jason Isaacs spills Hollywood tea, Jason Segel gets engaged, and Meghan Markle teaches her toddlers about money markets (because, of course, she does). Jared's got opinions, rants, and riffs on all of it, with the perfect mix of outrage and laughs. Plus, he plugs some upcoming shows, a great Hero Bread discount, and a YouTube channel that needs your eyeballs. Quick hit stories, maximum sarcasm, and that signature JTrain energy. This week on No More Late Fees, Jackie and Danielle go full punk (but make it Blockbuster) as they close out Lillard Mayhem Month with the ultimate ode to anarchy, angst, and aggressively gelled hair: SLC Punk! Joined by returning guest and punk-at-heart Simone, the trio dive into the 1998 cult classic that proves Matthew Lillard can monologue like a caffeinated philosophy major on open mic night. Come for the deep cuts on privilege, punk purity tests, and punk-to-public-educator pipelines—stay for the confusion over why there's so much organized anarchy in Utah.Things get hilariously existential as the gang unpacks Bob's tragically crusty bandage, Jason Segel's polite punch-outs, and the cinematic importance of the name “Heroin Bob” (spoiler: he doesn't even do drugs!). Danielle marvels at white culture in its purest punk form, Jackie reevaluates her teenage JNCO era, and Simone brings props—because what's more punk than reading poetry titled “My Feelings” while rocking pink hair? So grab your VHS copy, avoid mirrors, and brace yourself for the most philosophical acid trip since Bill & Ted.·Season 5 Episode 7—No More Late Fees https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com909-601-NMLF (6653)—Follow Us on Social:Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/nomorelatefees TikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@nomorelatefees Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/nomorelatefeesYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@nomorelatefees Twitterhttps://x.com/NoMoreLateFees —CONQUERingmyconquering.com10% Off Code: JACKIE10—NostaBeautyhttps://nostabeauty.com 20% Off Code: NMLF—Simone's Previous EpisodesLove and Basketballhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/love-and-basketball Pregaming with the Ladies of Role Call Podcasthttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/pregaming-with-the-ladies-of-role-call-podcast Se7enhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/se7en Our Favorite Brad with Role Callhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/our-favorite-brad-with-role-call Y2K - MTV Video Music Awards pt.1 '95 - '99https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/y2k-mtv-video-music-awards-pt1-95-99 Y2K - MTV Video Music Awards pt.2 '00 - '05 https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/y2k-mtv-video-music-awards-pt2-00-05 The Sixth Sensehttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/the-sixth-senseWe See Dead Peoplehttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/we-see-dead-people-counting-down-cinematic-ghosts-with-simone
