The life of a Christian is not easy. We sometimes go through long seasons of deep suffering. So how do we deal with that and endure the suffering? Thankfully, in Psalms like these we are given a language we can use to express our pain and we are also given guidance on how we can pursue God in the midst of suffering.
To kick of the summer series "A Summer in the Psalms" we are beginning with Psalm 1 which teaches us the widsom of the good path, or the blessed and "happy" life. We let the Word of God define happiness and give us the wisdom of how to achieve that happiness, which is by holiness and a delight in God's Word.
The ministry of Jesus was not defined by unity, but by division and controversy over who people believed He was. In this passage, Jesus offers living water to all who would believe, but some let misunderstanding, ignorance, and arrogance keep them from believing. Therefore, only those who are willing to trust in what Jesus teaches will come to Him and believe and find life.
The focal point for the division between true followers and everyone else the identity of Jesus Christ. In this sermon we are faced with whether we believe Jesus is a liar, a lawbreaker, or if He truly is the Messiah.
After some hard teachings, many disciples stop following Jesus because it was too hard. So Jesus turns to the 12 and asks them "Do you also want to go away?" In this passage we see the truth that following Jesus is hard, and many will turn away. But if we truly follow Him we have life in Him.
When Jesus teaches us the significance and implications of His feeding of the 5,000 He says some hard things. He says that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood if we want the eternal life He alone offers. What does that mean?? In this sermon, we learn that when we come to Jesus, we must come with a heart to learn and we must come wholly and completely.
Each of us want to experience love, belonging, intimacy, happiness, pleasure, and fun. But if we date or marry as a means to have those things, then we will miss out on a deeper and a greater purpose for our lives and our relationship. And we'll miss out on a deeper and greater experiencing of those things we all long for. This sermon will look at what the Bible says about Romantic Relationships and how we can pursue those relationships the way God desires us to.
There is nothing our Jesus cannot do! He proves His unlimited power by miraculously feeding over 5,000 people and by walking on water. May this sermon encourage you to trust and believe all the more in your all-powerful Savior.
In John 3:30, John the Baptist says “He must increase, but I must decrease.” As Christians, we are to make Jesus BIG in our life because Jesus Himself is BIG. In this sermon, the Gospel of John shows us how to make Jesus BIG in our lives and why it is that Jesus Himself is BIG.
When Jesus is accused of breaking the Sabbath, He reveals His identity as God the Son and He has the power and task of giving life and executing judgement. May this sermon expand your view of Jesus as the eternal Son of God and lead you to trust and worship Him more!
In our passage, Jesus heals a lame man and proves to be the True Healer. But instead of praise, Jesus experiences opposition and proves to not only be the True Healer, but also the Rejected Healer. This story challenges us as believers to see others the way Jesus sees them and to not take for granted what God has done for us.
For our Christmas series, we are looking at the birth narrative of Jesus Christ as seen in the Gospel of Luke. This first sermon of the series will look at the events leading up to the birth of Christ and see that the miraculous conception of Jesus proves God's mighty faithfulness to fulfill all His promises and bless those who believe His promises.
In this passage, there are three characters that teach us about ourselves and our God: The spiritually blind, the persistent believer, and the gracious Savior. This sermon will seek to show that Jesus is our Gracious Savior and only those of persistent faith are able to see it.
God desires for all to people to know Him. As we finish up the story of the woman at the well in this sermon, we will see God's will in evangelism and the power of sharing our testimony.
We don't deserve God's grace, but yet we have it. In this podcast, Joel Forman preaches the story of David and Mephibosheth, which displays the unexpected and undeserving grace of God.
Jesus didn't just come to save and evangelize the religious elites of society, but offers living water to everyone, even the most broken people. In this sermon, we see the heart of Jesus as He has a divine encounter with a Samaritan woman at a well.
