This weeks episode we learn about April's biggest obstacle to date, a back injury! April has been doing functional fitness for 10 years now and has never experienced any major injuries. This past week she was doing a normal day of exercising when she felt something happen to her back. In the moment her first thought was, this is all over! Everything that she has been working towards in her journey of weight loss and beyond was done. Learn how she dealt with that feeling and where she is at on her road to recovery. The first season of the Refuse the standard podcast follows the weight loss journey of my sister April. This first episode is an origin story, in order to better understand the things that April will go through in the future with her weight loss journey, we need to take a look at her past! From her lowest moment, of being almost 300 lbs, to some ups and downs in between and ultimately to our weight loss strategy present day. You will hear some insights into my coaching technique and hopefully will go away with some tips that will help you in your own journey of refusing the standard.
