2021 is finally here! Along with the New Year comes resolutions. Most Americans commit to bettering their health and money. Sounds good on paper, but what are the reasons behind making those resolutions and how are they achieving them? This week I'm asking the question "what is your relationship with money?" We all have one. And whatever it is definitely will play a factor in your relationship with others. Will it be a benefit or make them worse? Let's see what the Bible says on regards to this.

What do the characters we know so well show us about relationships? That's what I'm talking about this Christmas season. Christmas has come and gone, yet there's another group of people that deserve our attention from the original Christmas story: The Magi. Who are they really? Did they start the tradition of giving gifts at Christmas? And when did they see the baby Jesus? I dig into these questions along with finding out what they can teach us about relationships. Plus, another look into what Christmas is like for us Pettijohns. I also reveal Santa's true identity, spoiler alert.

What do the characters we know so well show us about relationships? That's what I'm talking about this Christmas season. I used to not pay much attention to the shepherds in the Christmas story, but after deeper reading there's a lot to unpack. They soon became my favorite part. What can their story teach us about our responses to God? How to interact with nonbelievers and strangers? Also other Christians we might be judgemental towards? Plus, how dumb are sheep exactly?!? Haha. I also divulge what it's like to go caroling with me. I'm a decent singer, but you'll learn why I enjoy going with those that are tonedeaf in part 2 of my "Christmas is here!" mini-series!

What do the characters we know so well show us about relationships? That's what I'm talking about this Christmas season. Mary and Joseph played big parts, both individually and together, when it comes to obeying God and being devoted to your spouse. I'm not sure if I would've handled those circumstances like they did, but I sure would like to when my own hard and trying times come along. Let's talk about what we can learn from them. Also, a peek into one of my favorite things about Christmas: traditions. From reading stories to siblings staying in the same room to making goofy sweatshirts. I love this time of year!

Church attendance across our nation is dwindling. Watching church on TVs, computers and phones is becoming the new norm. Is this how it's going to be from now on? If so, why are some churches still meeting in person? I dive into Hebrews and Matthew to uncover the truth about whether church in person is important or not. There's no personal or political agenda here, yet some may get offended. I pray that's not the case and God's Word speaks for itself.

Probably because as humans we innately have problems with authority. Even believers don't want to listen to or obey anyone past Jesus. We think He's really the only authority we should look to. But Peter (and Paul) say something different. Join me as I look for the true meaning of really submitting to God's authority, even here on this earth.

2020 life sucks. Why? Many reasons, but this election week it's clear everyone is looking for someone or something to blame. We want an enemy. That process is pretty easy for most: find who doesn't vote like you, stand for or against what you do, or do or act like you. That's the enemy. Paul says differently. Paul's smarter than us. I think we should listen to him and find out who our real enemy is.
