Recap from our Wisdom of Community series in Ephesians
Interview With Larry Schembri, church planter in Castle Rock, Colorado.
The church on earth is engaged in a battle against principalities and powers. Through Christ, the victory is secure, but in this life we must be equipped by God to stand strong in the Lord and to join in his mission to unite all things in Christ.
Living wisely means living together in a way that honors the Father, Son, and Spirit, encourages other believers in their faith through song, and is marked by humbly submitting to one another.
The church is united because the Spirit has united each member to Christ. This unity does not mean that all believers are the same. Rather, the risen and ascended Christ has given a variety of gifts to the church to equip us for ministry.
The church glorifies God by displaying his wisdom. His wisdom is seen as he overcomes fundamental distinctions between people to unite them together in Christ and to create one new people for himself.
Despite being drawn from different backgrounds, the church has been reconciled to God and therefore reconciled to each other by the redeeming work of Christ on the cross.
The church belongs to Jesus. Christ is the head of the church, and his people are his body.
