Good morning everyone, as we start these next 36 hours of prayer and fasting, this is a time to post your experiences in the discussion section of the event. Amen. Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer. If you choose, you may also say this little prayer: I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen. Then go joyfully to your work, singing a hymn, like that of the Ten Commandments, or whatever your devotion may suggest.

This week we are reading through the building of the Temple and the reign of King Solomon. The text is really focused on the construction of the temple and less on prayer, worship and relationship with God. A reminder how easily we can loose focus on God when put other priorities first like a temple.

This week with Immerse, we concluded 1st Chronicles. We learn more about King David, his mighty men and rules setup for the temple. This becomes important as impacts also the New Testament with John the Baptist's Father. A reminder how all of Scripture is connected together and points towards Jesus.

This week, we started the book of 1st Chronicles. This book begins with lists of many names of the descendants of God's People. A reminder for them, they came from a people, they have a story. A reminder for us, we too have a story and come from people who were before us. We have faith because someone was willing to pass on their faith. We are descendants of Jesus as our faith has been shared.

Chronicles - Issues of the heart South Lake Church This week, begin our journey through Chronicles. We are reminded with our readings for the next eight weeks, this is about heart issues. Its not what we do, go or build, its a matter where are heart is at. Below is 1st John Chapters 1 and 2. For we are to focus on the light, on Jesus. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. Living in the Light 5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. Chapter 2 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. 2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 3 And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. 4 If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
