Good morning everyone, as we start these next 36 hours of prayer and fasting, this is a time to post your experiences in the discussion section of the event. If you want to try fasting for 1, 4, 12, 24, or 36, this about helping us to center our heart and mind on our relationship with Jesus. Also, please share your prayer request as well as ways you are praying. Stay up to date at www.SouthLakeLC.org and https://www.facebook.com/EngageGrowShare/ Love y’all, below is Martin Luther’s Morning Prayer In the morning when you get up, make the sign of the holy cross and say: In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer. If you choose, you may also say this little prayer: I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen. Then go joyfully to your work, singing a hymn, like that of the Ten Commandments, or whatever your devotion may suggest.

Its not what we do, go or build, its a matter where are heart is at. Below is 1st John Chapters 1 and 2. For we are to focus on the light, on Jesus. Though this is a constant struggle, there is also love and forgiveness. Much Needed!! Have you wanted to start reading the Bible, make it a habit, or get to know Jesus more? Join us with the Immerse Bible Reading Experience as we start reading about Jesus in a fresh new way. Meet us 8am Saturdays at Noah's Ark Cafe in Bacliff 4438 Boulevard St, Bacliff, TX 77518 1 John Chapter 1 Introduction We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. Living in the Light 5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. Chapter 2 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. 2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 3 And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. 4 If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.

Message- Christmas Q And A

In true South Lake, Pints & Questions style, worshipers ask Pastor Rob some tough questions about the truth behind Christmas. Pastor Rob tackles these questions: * Does giving gifts take away from the meaning of Christmas? * Christmas is supposedly on a pagan holiday and celebrating it was banned. Is that true? Why? Why is Christmas on December 25? * Why did the wisemen bring gold, frankincense, and myrrh? * Where will we worship next week? (Hint: Worship on 1/5/20 will be in the Chapel of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay, Texas, at 10:30am.) * Why are the wisemen called wisemen? * Was Christ recognized as God at birth? Was it understood by people right away? * How does Saint Nicholas factor into the Christmas story? * Was Jesus really born in a stable?
