You want to ride a MotoGP-bike? Yeah, good luck with that: everyone knows these are machines made for murder, beasts of technology that only those gifted with near-superhuman reflexes can manage. These days, those rides have about as much in common with your average road bike as a space shuttle has in common with a paper airplane. What can I say; you can't walk the cutting edge if you don't expect to bleed a little. Except that once upon a time, there was a bike that was different. Fast as lightning but turned on a dime. Easily built in bulk, yet suited to almost every riding style under the sun. Rossi rode it to victory. So did Max Biaggi. Like a samurai blade, its deceptive simplicity was only possible because it built on ages of experience with every complex mechanic under the sun. Its name was the Honda RC211V and it was the bike that changed everything. It's a machine born out of necessity: when the sun finally fell on the era of the two-stroke engine, it was a whole new game for everyone. MotoGP itself was different then, too: way more of a technological wild west, where there were many different ways to build your ideal racer as long as those ways weren't electronic. It's impossible to avoid: telling the story of the RC211V means telling a story about MotoGP itself, because its role in racing history is just that big. Luckily, we've got some great storytellers in Mat and Peter here. One of them even rode the bloody thing! This is going to be one of those episodes that you really don't want to miss, so pour one out for a legend and get straight into it...-----Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon. Tired of paying more to the IRS on your investment gains? A self-directed IRA can help you take advantage of tax-advantaged investing while giving you more control over where your retirement dollars go. Book a free 15-minute call with Directed IRA to learn more and get started In this episode of the Directed IRA Podcast, Mark and Mat Sorensen break down the Rule of 72 and explain how investors can use this simple calculation to understand the power of compounding and the time it can take for an investment to double. The conversation explores how rate of return, taxes, fees, and the type of investment account can significantly impact long-term wealth. Mat and Mark use real-world examples to compare different rates of return and demonstrate how even seemingly small differences can create substantial gaps in portfolio growth over time. They also discuss how self-directed IRAs can give investors greater flexibility to choose from a broader range of investments, including real estate, private lending, private funds, precious metals, cryptocurrency, and other alternative assets. The episode highlights the importance of considering not only potential returns, but also tax efficiency and investment costs when evaluating long-term strategies. In this episode, they discuss:How the Rule of 72 estimates the time it takes for an investment to doubleWhy compounding can have such a significant impact on long-term wealthHow different rates of return can change the trajectory of an investmentThe potential impact of taxes and fees on investment growthWhy tax-advantaged accounts can help reduce the impact of taxes on investment returnsHow self-directed IRAs provide the flexibility to invest beyond traditional Wall Street assetsThe importance of evaluating investment opportunities based on long-term growth rather than short-term performanceThe episode ultimately focuses on a simple question for investors: How can their money work harder for them over the long term? For questions or to learn more about this episode's topic, book a call with an IRA specialist here: https://directedira.com/appointment/Interested in learning more about alternative investments? There is a scene in the 1999 documentary Beyond the Mat where Dennis Stamp tells Terry Funk why he's not going to be at his retirement show: "Because I'm not booked." Dennis would end up appearing on the show, but "I'm not booked" became a classic line from the movie. In music, there are plenty of songs that are "not booked," so to speak, in that they don't make the original tracklist for the album. They might end up appearing on B-sides, reissues, deluxe editions, compilation albums, or box sets. On this episode, Andrew and returning guest Kevin Hare (Voices of Wrestling, 185 Miles South) play a selection of songs that didn't get booked. Artists played include Alkaline Trio, Faces, Chamillionaire, Oasis, Black Flag, The KLF, The Undertones, and many more. Grab the weights and jump on the trampoline, because you never know when the next booking will come.Theme song: "Hemispheres" by Silent PartnerBluesky: @MusicoftheMat / @justandrewListen to Kevin on the 185 Miles South podcast: 185milessouth.comAll VOW podcasts, articles, previews, and reviews: VoicesofWrestling.comJoin the VOW Discord to discuss Music of the Mat and other shows/topics: VoicesofWrestling.com/DiscordDonate to Music of the Mat and other VOW podcasts: VoicesofWrestling.com/DonateAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
On episode 150 of the BJJ Balance Podcast, Mat and Kenny go deep on the algorithm rabbit holes we don't tell our friends about before breaking down why women's MMA has struggled to build the same rivalries and star power as the men's division, using Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, and Amanda Nunes as the exception, not the rule. From there it's a full GOAT-style MMA debate: Mat makes the case that a prime GSP would give Islam Makhachev fits, breaks down why title fights produce fewer finishes, and explains why Khabib's Dagestani camp (allegedly 102 wins, 2 losses) might be the greatest MMA camp in history compared to AKA, Jackson's, American Top Team, Team Quest, and Extreme Couture. They talk BJJ and MMA camp loyalty, GSP's unique path training everywhere from Tristar to Greg Jackson's, and UFC roster depth. Then it's tattoo talk: neck tattoos, back pieces, tramp stamps, Craig Jones' leg piece, Prince Albert piercings, and the "no-gi guy" tattoo stereotypes. Mat also tells a legendary UPS route story about blown-out socks, a busted shin, and Lieutenant Dan wisdom about keeping your feet dry. They get into a real breakdown of technique versus power in grappling, why smaller technical guys need longer rounds to win, and Mat's advice to stop being "too nice" when you roll. The episode closes with a hard look at attendance-based belt promotions at big-name BJJ gyms, why some professors care more about commas in their bank account than real practitioners, and Mat's own belt journey from starting jiu jitsu at 21 to getting his black belt at 32. Plus: Gordon Ryan's "Moneybagg" versus Craig Jones' Jonah Hill debate, tongue ring stories, and the usual chaos. If you're into BJJ podcast content, MMA GOAT debates, jiu jitsu culture, and grappling community talk, this episode has it all. This episode is brought to you by Optiva Wellness. No race? Nope! It's the second summer mini-break, giving everyone some time to catch their breaths. It also raises the question what a million dollar rider does to relax. Drinks at a tropical beach, anyone? That'd be our plan, surely. Not sure what cocktails would be involved, but feel free to let us know your best guess for your favourite rider. The last time we had a break like this was last month, and we spend it talking about the characteristics of the top five riders. This week we're doing something similar, but looking at the other side of the equation. That's right, it's time for shiny metal and high tech wizardry as we dive head first into bike analysis! There's five different machines, and while some are clearly better than others they all have some very unique characteristics. And if you're like Mat and Peter, this is the kind of stuff that keeps you up at night. Small wonder, then, that your hosts have plenty of thoughts on the matter. In fact, I'd argue that this week's episode is so big it might just kill any spare time you'd have had until the next race. Lucky! So go imagine yourself on some brilliantly sunny shores, pour out that cocktail and press play. We've got some serious bikes to discuss...-----Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon. Whether it's the loss of someone we love, the end of a dream, or a broken relationship, grief has a way of making us wonder "will I ever be myself again?" Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Amy knows firsthand what it means to walk through multiple deep losses, and she shares in her book "Arise: From Grief & Flourish Again." She tells us how God met her in the middle of grief —not only bringing healing, but restoring joy, purpose, and hope. If you or someone you love is carrying the weight of loss, I believe this conversation will encourage your heart. Her books are available on Amazon and Kindle. Her website is amyjoob.com

Recompense on the Beast and Harlot (1) (audio) David Eells, 8/12/26 Destruction Comes for Apostate Leadership B. A. - 06/23/2015 (David's notes in red) I dreamed that I found myself in Jerusalem, back in Jesus' day, and I was looking up at the temple (a temple made by man's hands which God does not inhabit). Act.17:24 The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; (Church buildings are not holy, the people must be.) 25 neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 and he made of one every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 that they should seek God, if haply they might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us: 28 for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and device of man. 30 The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commanded men that they should all everywhere repent: 31 inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. There were stone steps leading down from the temple, and on the steps stood Pharisees and Sadducees (Representing those of our day.). I was standing with a crowd of people in an open area a little ways from the temple and the stone steps, and just as I was looking around me in this crowd of people, I saw a man come forward out of the crowd who began to sternly address the men who were standing up (or exalting themselves) on the stone steps of the temple. I knew that the man speaking was Jesus. (Representing those in whom He lives by Word and Spirit in our day.) Mat.23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted. As Jesus began to speak, I began to recognize the “Word” He was speaking to these men, since I had heard these same words before. Here is what I heard: Mat.23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves. When Jesus spoke the first “Woe”, I heard a loud pop-like sound and what sounded like a crackling sound. I looked down upon the stone steps of the temple where these Pharisees and Sadducees were standing, and I noticed a large, deep crack had run right up through the middle of those stone steps, and they were beginning to crack and crumble. I noticed that the deep crack was between the feet of a rather large and extremely overweight man. (This represents the apostate leadership of our day overcome by their own flesh.) 16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. Then, when Jesus spoke the second “Woe”, I heard another much louder pop-like sound and more of the crackling sound. I looked around to see where this sound was coming from, and I saw that a large, deep crack had gone all around the temple foundation, and it was cracking up and crumbling as well. (Everything that can be shaken will be.) 17 Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold? 18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor. 19 Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? 20 He therefore that sweareth by the altar, (The crucified life.) sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. 21 And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. 22 And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. 23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law (So tithing is of the law. This is the leaven of the Pharisees Jesus warned about.), justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel! (Making unimportant things important.) 25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also. 27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. 29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous, 30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets. 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. 33 Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell? 34 Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: 35 that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem (John said Jerusalem is the Bride but there is a false bride.), that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. (Devoid of God) 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Just as Jesus had finished His Words to these men, the stone steps gave way, and all of those men standing on the crumbling stone steps fell down into a deep pit that had opened up under them. And just after that happened, the entire temple came crashing down on top of them and covered them up. I noticed that from Matthew 23:15 through verse 39, there are “six” woes -- “six” being the number of man. Also, I found it interesting that there is a “Woe” in Mathew 23:23, and the date of this revelation is the 23rd, and 23 means “death”. (This is clearly a reprobation of today's apostate leadership and their fake temples, as Jesus pronounced in His day, and is now a repeat of history.) The Recompense on the Wicked Anna Stewart - 7/24/25 I dreamed that a few others and I were at a safari ranch. There was a ten-foot-high impenetrable wall of dead-looking grass going around the perimeter of where we were. (“All flesh is as grass,” said Peter, representing the flesh of the beast people, the Dragon devouring in Rev 12. Judgments are spreading over the world from these people.) We were told to get back into our vehicle because the grass was full of lionesses (representing the curse and judgment) just waiting to jump out and grab someone. I wasn't afraid, but I did get back into the vehicle. My father (representing THE Father) was driving the vehicle. I was in the front passenger seat (the bride), but someone behind me had left their door open. Three times, with authority, I commanded them to “SHUT THE DOOR.” I knew they were primarily endangering themselves, but also putting the rest of us at risk, as well. (The vehicle represents sanctification, and we must all keep our own doors shut, for ourselves, but also for the sake of the body.) We began to slowly drive down a narrow, one-way dirt road lined by that tall grass. A woman I know, who represents the harlot, was walking alongside us on the left of our vehicle. It wasn't safe to be outside, and she began to nervously knock on the door of the vehicle and say, “Let me in, let me in.” The woman was not afraid, just slightly nervous, not realizing how very real the danger was. Rom.3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. To my surprise, my father continued driving slowly along, completely ignoring her. I said, “We need to let her in,” but still he didn't stop. Luk.13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are; Then I saw a huge, fierce-looking male lion (Satan) behind the vehicle on the right side. I said, “In the name of Jesus—” to pray for the woman's safety, but the Lord didn't even allow me to pray. In an instant, without warning, the lion pounced onto the woman, and there was a graphic spray of blood and body parts. It was horrific. I wailed, “Jesus!” Not just for the gore I had just seen, but because I knew that no repentance had happened. Mercy had run out, and there was not so much as a second for her to repent. And now it was too late. Pro.6:15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy. End of dream. I knew the Lord was speaking of this woman as a group of people. What I saw was His recompense that is before Him. Their time had run out. This is a warning, but the apostates this woman represents must confess their sins and run to the Lord now, or they won't escape. Let's continue to pray and believe for them. Apostates Neglect Their Spiritual Man Sam Paguaga - 12/10/2012 (David's notes in red) In a dream, I was in a large house with a lot of people around. There seemed to be a lot of rooms and a lot of stuff going on. People were talking and hanging around and doing their own business. I saw my mother (representing the apostate Church we were born from). (In reality, her name is Iris. (Which means “rainbow” in Greek. This could represent grace God wants to give to the Church of all nations.) She had a small child with her who seemed like a kid from a third-world country. He was very dark-skinned (representing her spiritual man in darkness), like from India, wearing worn-out clothes (not putting on the works of Christ). He seemed to be sick, and she didn't seem to be tending to him. (Representing the fruit of the apostate church's spiritual man, which they are not feeding and clothing.) If I had to say, he looked around three years old. (The fruit of their spiritual man is very immature.) My mother then gave him to me. (Those who minister to the mother Church will care for and feed their spiritual man.) I took him to a room, like a toddler room, where I was going to clean him up and put new clothes on him. (Cleanse him from sin and dress him up in the works of Jesus.) When I changed his shirt, I noticed what looked like a tumor on the side of his face by his right ear. (His hearing is under the curse. He hasn't heard truth.) Without a thought, I placed my hand over it and began to pray, “Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, heal him, heal his sickness, in the name of Jesus. Be healed. Be well. Thank You, Lord. God, thank You”. As I began to say, “thank You”, I felt under my hand something like bones cracking. (the bones of the inner ear, representing spiritual hearing) They were going back in place and the tumor was diminishing. (“Faith cometh of hearing and hearing by the Word”.) I continued to thank God. I knew he was being healed, so I left my hand over his face until I was sure he was all healed. (Their face needs healing: 2Co.3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.) I noticed one of my sons was there looking. (My firstborn, whose name is Eliasaph (“God has increased or added”). We call him Eli.) I told him, “Look. God healed him”. Then, full of gladness for the boy, I grabbed the little boy's hand and walked him over to where my mother was. She was sitting in some type of large living room, on some couches. She was talking to somebody else and some other people. I was trying to get her attention and said, “Look. He's healed! Look, Mom. He's healed”. (They must believe the Gospel that their spiritual man is healed in Jesus' name.) But she just kept talking to the other person, like I wasn't even there. I tried one more time. “Look, Mom. Look. He's healed”. I'm not sure what happened to the little boy by that point. But my gladness turned to rage because she (as the apostate Church) was ignoring the work God had done. (In the natural, my mom is not at all like that. She is very caring and loving. And I have a good relationship with my mother and father. The mother in the dream is like the apostate church, not looking for God's will and rejecting God's spiritual work, in pursuit of earthly things and the entertainment of followers for money. Why did I want my mother to see? The latter rain will be rejected by the apostate church because it will lack the earthly treasures they value, but true treasure is in Heaven.) I picked up a wooden chair that was close by and threw it on the floor and it smashed. (The harlot church cannot rest from their own works, just as was seen in the example of the Jews in the Gospels and Acts. Heb.4:3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.). Everyone looked. I felt like I was furious. I started walking down the hall. I picked up another chair and threw it toward them. I wasn't trying to hit them, but it landed right in front of them. (So they could see that they had no rest from the curse and sin through unbelief. Jesus crashed the money changers party for the zeal of God's house.) Then I started going up the stairs to the second floor, as I smashed another chair. (They are not graduating from kindergarten to higher levels.) Then I woke up. I wondered to myself why I had gotten so upset. I'm really not the kind to lose control in anger and in a fit of rage. (This was an expression of God's rage that the apostates care only for the world and not for their own souls or those of others. Heb.2:3 how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard. Rev.3:16 So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.) Devastation of Charismatic Christianity P. O. - 08/03/2009 (David's notes in red) In a dream, a man is walking the earth as if he is checking things. He comes upon a scene of violent disarray. (The best way to describe this scene is that it puts one in mind of how a car accident would look, but there's no car.) It's his bride, his wife. She's dead, but beautiful and at peace. Her luggage, apparel, and various items are in disarray around her. Many of these items are marked “The Enrique Hotel”. Also, she is dressed in a way that is reminiscent of the time the historians called “The Roaring Twenties” (which occurred right before the Great Depression). Then I heard a voice that said, “She's been lied to every day, every step of her life”. (Even though they will enter the Kingdom and be at peace, being lied to by false leaders will cost many Spirit-filled Christians their lives and possessions, at the hands of the violent beast. Hos.4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...) When I woke up, I researched the name “Enrique”. It is derived from Spanish or Portuguese, meaning “Charismatic Ruler”. Another site mentioned that it is similar to the English “Henry”, which means “Home Ruler”. (The hotel represents the Church, which, according to Eph.2:19-22, is many houses built together into one Temple for God. Each individual house represents a person. The Spirit-filled people have the position of bride, even though many will not manifest this. The Charismatic leadership, typed by Judah, has gone far astray and is more guilty than the northern 10 apostate tribes because they have had the presence of God's Spirit in their midst to lead them, but have refused to follow His Word.) I also asked the Lord for something in His Word that would coordinate or connect what He was giving me. He laid on my heart a page number in my very first study Bible. When I turned to it, I discovered that He had taken me to 1 Thessalonians 2. The verse that seemed emphasized was: “For ye, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus: for ye also suffered the same things of your own countrymen even as they did of the Jews...” End of Dream. (I interpreted the top part of this dream before I saw Judea and the rest of this verse. Truly, the Charismatics have imitated the churches, rather than the Scriptures, and they will suffer the same violent attack of the Beast as the Jews did from their countrymen.) One of the reasons why I knew the dream meant something was that I would never, in the natural, dream about something named “Enrique”. I live in Indiana, and there's very little Spanish influence here. I thought this dream was meant for me personally, for the Lord to show me that I was part of the Bride, that I had died to the flesh and was now at rest in Him. I have suffered some persecution from family over the past year. As a personal dream, I was not going to pass this on to anyone. But this morning, I noticed that there is news now on the Internet, originating three days after my dream, regarding the latest Hurricane or Tropical Storm of the year. It, too, is named Enrique. Living in the Midwest, I do not follow hurricanes or keep track of what storm names are coming, so this was a total surprise. I'm not a mathematician, but for a Hoosier, English-only speaker, to dream a name that three days later hits the national news as the newest coming storm seemed to me to be 'up there' in the range of improbability, so that's why I've sat down and now typed it for you, thinking this may be for the larger body of believers. A violent storm is now coming straight for the Charismatic Church, most of which believe they will fly away and so are not preparing to escape the Beast. What is it that we should know and do to escape this Beast? The president of scripture over traditions of men. The Harlot's Fire Is Coming Apostate Church Cut Up and Cooked Like a Goose Cal Spinner - 08/07/2007 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was in the person of the Son of Man. I was in a giant library or bookstore with many books (I.e., religious teachings) and many, many rooms. I met a beautiful woman who seemed Western. She was dressed quite modernly and was wearing makeup, gold and diamond jewelry. We began to converse, and I invited her to come with me. As we began to go, we met another woman who was dressed more Eastern in a plain white dress, with a head covering over her head. She had no jewelry or makeup, just a thin gold belt that was like a rope. She was wearing plain sandals, whereas the other woman wore stockings and high heels. It seemed we all knew each other, and I invited her to come with me as well. (This seems to contrast women of the world and their fake persona, with humble women of the Word to show who is the qualified Bride. 1Ti.2:9 In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment; 10 but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works.) We then walked out of the library and into what seemed like a honeymoon suite of some hotel. The room had a good view of the ocean and elaborate wicker furniture. It was very beautiful and was all decorated in very pure white. There were two king-size beds side by side. I said to the women, “See, there is plenty of room; you both can stay”. They agreed, and both presented me their feet (representing their walk), which became like reeds. It seemed like reeds for making baskets, although I had an impression of water as well, like certain reeds that grow in the water. I took shears and clipped their feet off. Then the beautiful Western woman became jealous of the other woman when I gave her attention. (As the Lord will) I said to the Western woman, “You can't get away because you cannot stand on your own”. I then laid the woman with the head covering in the bed. (The sign of submission to the Lord as husband.) Then the scene suddenly shifted to a kitchen, and I was placing the other woman in the oven. She had the left arm and leg missing, and the right arm and leg were bound with a string. She was on a tray and had an apple in her mouth. She was weeping as I placed her in the oven and shut the door and turned it on to cook her like a goose, but the apple in her mouth reminded me she was a pig. (full of flesh) Then I woke up very disturbed and asked the Lord for interpretation. I am still, at the time of this writing, quite shaken by the vividness of this dream and the quickness with which the interpretation came to me. This is a terrible warning! This is the interpretation the Spirit revealed to me, although there may be more. The great hall with many rooms and the many books represents all the many doctrines of man and his religions. There were many people there partaking of the various books. The Son of Man is in the store or library with all the other doctrines of the world, but only invites some to go with Him. The two women represent the church -- those invited to wed the Lord. The woman dressed more plainly with the head covering represents the true Bride. The head covering symbolized willingness to submit to authority and headship of the bridegroom. The modern woman who was selfish and jealous and dressed in jewelry and fakeup represents the apostate church. (Who believe they are the bride.) The clipping of the feet is when we come to the Lord. We agree not to stand on our own but to be carried by the Lord. (Although both groups acknowledge they cannot stand on their own but by grace, the true Bride will be made to stand by grace because of true faith.) The cutting up represents the denominations of the apostate church that are one-sided, missing one arm and one leg. (The left side [goats] being missing will mean that through their own works they will have no power to escape and be saved. The right side [sheep] represents that they are unable to do the works or walk of the Lord, but are only bound by a string, symbolizing that they could be free if they really wanted to.) The Lord will judge them for being worldly and self-absorbed and put them in the oven Himself. They will cry out, but He won't hear them and will send them to be baked. He won't hear them because they are like pigs concerned with only themselves, rejecting His authority and headship. They will not allow Him to carry them to His bedchamber (where His seed is sown in them to bear His fruit), but instead, they will try to do things their own way, being more concerned about what the world thinks of them than the Lord. It will be grievous to them, but those who are truly the Lord's will be saved through the fiery trial that will cause them to give up their self-works of wood, hay, and stubble. 2Ti.2:19 Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness. 20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master's use, prepared unto every good work. 22 after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Those who truly are the Lord's will lose the wood, hay and stubble of their self-works and any reward they thought they would have from this, but it is here that they will be saved from themselves. 1Co.3:12 But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire.) We should all take heed with great fear and trembling and submit ourselves to the Lord's authority with all haste. The time is at hand to come out of Babylon or be destroyed by the east. The Righteous Offend the Beast and Harlot Vincent Xavier 1. I am coming to do great injury and wrong to that which is not of My Father. My nature contends with the nature of the beast. This nature of the beast is in the heart of men who have not been sanctified by My Spirit. That which has not been fully sanctified remains an offense to me and I will be an offense to it! Yes, I will offend the Beast in this hour! I will release a shockwave of glorious power that will cause the Beast to reel to and fro like a drunken man! The nature of the Beast has cleverly entrapped MY people and has caused them to err in their hearts concerning what is acceptable to My Father. A learned practice of what is acceptable to men has been the standard by which men have been judged, yet that standard shall be fully violated in this DAY. Religious leaders have led My people into complacency and have lulled them to sleep with their fairytales and ideas that originate in their own minds. Their words are not My words for their words carry no sanctifying power. Their words carry no influence in the realms of darkness to the liberating of the captives. The nature of the Beast is empowered by sin and the message of the religious leaders has not emancipated the conscience of those who believe in me. It is the SIN CONSCIENCE that must be dealt with. It is the SIN ISSUE that must be fully realized as the open door to Satanic power in the souls of those who believe. My nature will make war with the Beast within the soul of men and will execute judgment upon the Beast. Be prepared, for many shall be offended in the last days and it will be I Who is causing the offense! Those who are righteous indeed will be an offense to those who are religious indeed. 2. I am going to exceed all bounds of decency and reasonableness. Follow My life! Look at me! Was I approved and acceptable to the approved social order of My day? Was I subject to those who were in control of the day? Was the Roman government My head? Were the religious leaders of Judaism My head? NO! My only supreme was My Father and I always did what My Father told me to do, even at the risk of upsetting the standard order of the times. Yes, it was I who entered into the temple and turned over the tables of the moneychangers. This was an acceptable practice for those Jews at that time, but their practices were not ordained of My Father. It was I who caused outrage in the hearts of those who would take me to the cliff to throw me down the mountain! It was I who stirred the crowds into chaos and confusion, causing divisions among men! It was I who upset the religious mindset of the day when healing on the Sabbath and doing good to those who were in need. It was I who caused offense in the hearts of the hypocrites! Yes, it was I, and I say unto you that I am going to upset the world again, and I am going to turn it upside down. I am going to shake the world of all its social graces and practices that are an offense and abomination to My Father. Two thousand years ago, I sent a people into the world and they, according to My will, TURNED THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN! So it is on this, the THIRD DAY, that I am going to release My people once again from the caves of obscurity who have hid from the religious leaders of this Day and bring them out into the open, and oh what an offense they shall be to all the social orders men have labored so hard to erect and put in place. Consider My servant David and the men who went out to meet him in the caves of Adullam. These were not the kind of men who were subjected to the religious order of Saul, and neither will these be those I release in this hour. Surely I say to you that they will enter into your places of worship and contend with all that is not of My Father. They will be an offense to many and will reveal the hate and control in the hearts of the leaders who have refused to LET MY PEOPLE GO! Consider My servant Joseph. He was thrown into prison by his OLDER brothers. Surely he shall arise in the earth having great authority and will rule over those older brothers in the days to come. Yes, those who were an insult to them because of their pride and jealousy will bow their knees to them and will acknowledge their authority and will know of a truth that I have loved them with an everlasting love from before the eons of time, or else they shall perish without a word. Let it be known that I AM an offense to the world, for the world is surely an offense to me! I have watched the world and have watched My people in the world and those who claim to be Mine. I ask, what have you learned since you believed? Have you not yet departed from that which is an offense to me? Have you not read that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of Mine? You have not yet COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE! Therefore, you shall incur judgment against yourselves for I have determined to destroy Babylon! I am not speaking of the Babylon in the Middle East, but the Babylon in the middle of your heart! I am speaking to your Babylonian ways and mindsets! When I walked upon the earth, I did not call attention to the Roman authorities but to the condition of men's hearts! Yes, I am coming to topple that which appears before men as most religious. That which is so acceptable today is an abomination to me! That which has become the social order of the day, the acceptable form of worship, is coming to an end! For I have determined to FINISH the house that has been in building for two thousand years. Yes, out of the ashes will arise a new building, complete and perfect, a people who are in the exact image of My Father! I am not concerned with social graces and what is acceptable to men; I am only concerned with that which belongs to my Father! How will I come? I will come to you in the form of men and women! I will come to you with great power and anointing when once I release My reserved ones. I come! I come in them to stand before the multitudes in order that I may bring truth to My temple! I come! Surely I come! 3. My presence will be very shocking and offensive in this DAY. A heavy blow will come to the earth! For heaven has witnessed the actions of men in the earth and their actions have been weighed in the balance. I will cause to stagger all nations by the news they shall hear. What men have deemed as “good taste” shall surely become bitter by what I am about to do. Indeed, that which was once approved of men and acceptable in the eyes of the admirers shall become a revolting offense, even disgusting. My people, who are seated with Me in heavenly places, are prepared to appear in the earth before the eyes of men. These shall be the reason for the “shock syndrome” that will come. For that which was once accepted in My house by men shall be seen as a detestable thing in comparison to the holiness that My sanctified ones shall walk in. Their presence shall reveal the disgusting abomination that has been hidden in the hearts of men while doing many outward works of righteousness. I say that those works of outward righteousness shall be seen for what they truly are, mere religious robes covering the filth of an unsanctified life. My pure presence within My beloved ones shall cause the heart to fail in those who are unrepentant. 4. My appearing shall be violent in action and disposition. When I come, I will come with a violent disposition that will cause men to pale and pine away. For I will take the nations by violence, and I will destroy that which is false with a strong overthrow. How will I come? I will appear through My servants, the prophets! Their words shall be as a hammer violently breaking in pieces that which is an abomination to My Father. A destroying fire shall come out of their mouths to the burning up of all chaff in the hearts of men! There will be no arrogance when they come. Those who would oppose their words will come under swift judgment. For these are My battle axes, My weapons of war, who have been reserved for a time such as this, yet it is I who am working in them beyond their own understanding! They have yielded to My will and have surrendered their lives so that I may live in and through them. It will be I who am contended with by those who would oppose them. I have said that violent men take the Kingdom by force, and it will be at this time that the Kingdom shall be taken by those full of divine energy and power. Satan shall be cast out of the heavenlies and thrust down into the pit. I am speaking to the hearts of men. For it is within the heart that all evil comes. Not outwardly in the skies above but within the very soul of man that Satan has taken his seat along with the Beast and the false prophet. These evil spirits have held the dominion, but shall now come under a violent blow that shall shake them from their high places in order to release My Kingdom in the hearts of those who believe. 5. Because I am going to exceed all bounds of right, morality, and decency known to man, I will be INTOLERABLE to the modern religious and social leaders of this day. My people, hear me! What has been erected as decent, moral, and acceptable to men is truly an abomination to me. You live in a time where men call evil good, good evil, bitter sweet and sweet bitter. It is a DAY wherein light is called darkness and darkness is called light. Because of these conditions, I will come as an INTOLERABLE force of emptying magnitude. I will so completely overturn that which is hypocritical that nothing will remain. Understand that what I have tolerated for so long will no longer be tolerated. In My intolerance, I will lead a militia of chosen warriors through whom I will shake the earth! Many will find My ways intolerable from behind the pulpit in these moments of time, for many in the congregation shall be offended because of the righteousness that flows from the minister's lips. Yes, I have ministers, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal, who will demonstrate My glorious power in these days. To them shall many flock. For the true shall know My voice in and through them and will know them by their fruits. Man has played with power greater than himself and by so doing has opened the gate to a great flood of evil. But no man has ever witnessed the magnitude of My intolerance as what shall be witnessed in these days. My presence will become unbearable to the wicked. My words will be too severe for the hypocrites! I will appear as a cruel one to those who have been cruel! Many will not be able to bear with me. Yet to My beloved shall I appear with an intolerable love and grace! Yes, many will not be able to bear My love, mercy and grace that I will bestow upon them, and these shall be swept away in rapturous moments in My glory. These shall be overwhelmed with My love and blessings! Many great and wonderful blessings shall abound to their account, and their inheritance shall be released unto them. These are those who have come to maturity and have grown up beyond the mere religious practices of many. These are My sons and daughters who will set the creation free, even as I did when I walked upon the earth. He came as a Lamb but comes as a Lion!

Wanderlust is embedded into the human DNA. It is as much a part of us as thirst or hunger, and just as powerful a motivator. Humanity did not cross the Bering Strait because Asia ran out of space, we crossed because it was there. We spread across the world like a global pandemic, and now that we have airplanes, that pandemic has become airborne. Travelers traverse everywhere, and thus citizens of foreign lands need a place to put all these explorers. Just like airports have customs lines, and the Everglades has Alligator Alcatraz, popular cities have Tourist Traps. Some random, worthless artifact is given Can’t-Miss status and these groups flock to line-up and self-contain. But if your goal is to explore a new city, why waste time taking a selfie at the most photographed places in the world? Blend in with Mat and Veronique as we seek out new life and new civilizations by boldly going where everyone else already lined up for Tourist Stuff! *Grumbles are specifically off-the-cuff, no research went into this grumble. _____________________________________ Support the show and become a Grumble Kid! Podzimní schůzka, londýnský hotel. Tři muži a zelený čaj.
In week one of Well Rounded, Mat sits down with Sally Campbell-Evans to talk about what it means to keep growing in faith—and what that growth looks like when we're raising the next generation. Drawing from Proverbs and John Wesley's understanding of discipleship, they explore how following God engages both our heads and our hearts, why we never truly graduate from learning, and how raising faithful kids can become part of our own journey of faith. Because teaching children what we believe also invites us to keep asking questions, growing, and living out that faith ourselves.Find out more at HydeParkUMC.org/NextSteps
Some things are just meant to be together. You know: peanut butter and chocolate. Salt and pepper. Silverstone and Aprilia. Yes, Assen and Phillip Island are nice. But bring these bikes to Silverstone, and their aero really starts making the difference. The result? A clear domination, where in one historic weekend the Italian manufacturer managed to lock down the grid's front row, take all three top places during the sprint and then doing the same during the main race in a pretty historic victory. The result? Three of Aprilia's four bikes are holding steady in the top three positions of the tournament. So congratulations on that - but are these bikes getting a little too good for sportsmanship? We're not in Formula 1-land just yet, but Peter's feeling a little spooked. When does a briliant design become a danger to the game? That might sound grim, but luckily there's still the factor of the riders themselves and what they bring to play. Good thing Mat and Peter got some thoughts on those, too! So come join us as we discuss Silverstone. Cheers! ---Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon. In this recap episode, Lesley Logan and Brad Crowell revisit Lesley's conversation with Amy Dickens, a joy advocate, author of 101 Ways to Spread Joy, and creator of Joyfully You. Amy found joy after years of mental health struggles and turned it into a practice for nervous system regulation. The hosts get honest about what it costs to stay positive inside a negative industry, and why joy is something you build rather than something you wait for. Like, that would be a toxic positivity thing. Finding joy is the neighbors that came over and showed how much they love and support you, and brought you new items and new things. I think finding joy or being the joy doesn't mean that you're not feeling feelings. It just means that you are not hyper-focused on all the shit.Lesley Logan 0:25 Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Brad Crowell 1:08 Take it away.Lesley Logan 1:09 Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap, where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the delightful combo I had with Amy Dickens in our last episode. If you haven't yet, listen to that interview. Feel free to pause this now. Go back because you missed out on some joy stuff. Like it was all joyful. Super joy. Brad Crowell 1:23 Yes you did. Lesley Logan 1:24 So, if you want to miss on joyLesley Logan 1:26 It was delightful. Lesley Logan 1:27 You can listen to this first to see how much joy is in it, and then get that joy intrigue fixed by listening to her episode after. Today is August 6th. It's a day after my brother's birthday, 2026, and it kicks off. Brad Crowell 1:39 Clutter Awareness WeekLesley Logan 1:41 Which I'm sure the people who have clutter also hate that it's kicking off on a Thursday, but that's how they did it, which takes place annually, shining a light on the often overlooked issue of physical and mental clutter. Ooh, mental clutter too. This week encourages individuals to identify, confront, and overcome disorganization in their lives. Join the movement by decluttering a space, donating unused items, or learning new organizational strategies. So, I am super excited to say that I have, by the time you listen to this, taken all of our old dish towels, studio cleaning towels, old towels, Brad doesn't like that, but I'm taking old towels, all to the SPCA, the Nevada SPCA, because they will use them, and I got myself some new microfiber towels for the studio. And I'm gonna find kitchen towels that actually soak up shit because the ones we have, I don't know if you noticed, Brad, they just move it around. They just move the liquid around. There is something wrong with these towels, so they are gone. I'm taking them away. Time for some matching cute towels.Brad Crowell 2:45 That is funny. Yeah, you're not wrong, and it's interesting because sometimes it's easy to get stuck in cleaning just so that you can focus, and then... Lesley Logan 2:55 Well that's definitely ADHD...Brad Crowell 2:57 But then other times I go through not cleaning, and it just piles up. Things just pile up. Lesley Logan 3:02 I'm looking at a basket, and I was looking at it before we started this call. Before I knew what the week announcement was, and I was like, "This should be a box. Why is this an open basket? And why is this basket here?" And then if we take, you guys cannot see because what you see is very strategic, but this podcast room has become Monica's closet. I'm just gonna say it. If you know Monica from Friends, this is Monica's closet. And by the time you hear this, I'm going to say that we have done something to it because it's time.Brad Crowell 3:34 It's time to declutter.Lesley Logan 3:35 Alright. So tell us. Make sure you send a win in of what you decluttered this week. Send in a win to the beitpod.com/questions. Okay, really quick, as you have heard, the rumors are true. I created a teacher training program for new teachers or somewhat trained teachers who want to study Pilates the way I teach it. So if you like the style of my Pilates instruction, you like my tutorials, my flashcards, you want to go through my training. It's called UpLift, the capital L. And the educators for this program are people who trained with me through my mentorship program, eLevate. And so, if you are a comprehensively trained teacher and you want to study directly with me, then you want to do eLevate. If you actually just want to train through a training that I've created and that I'm very intimately involved in, but my eLevate grads will be teaching, you want to go through UpLift. So, UpLift's waitlist for teachers and people who want to be in that training is xxll.co/uws, and if youBrad Crowell 4:29 Yeah, that's just to also make a distinction, UpLift is for people who are not yet teachers.Lesley Logan 4:34 Not yet teachers. However.Brad Crowell 4:35 But eLevate is are for comprehensively trained teachers already.Lesley Logan 4:40 Yes, and I have to keep saying this because it's important. The industry is very unique. There are people who've only been trained on Mat or Reformer or Mat and Reformer, and so if you want to do a comprehensive training, you could go through UpLift because you cannot go through eLevate because you have to have had a comprehensive training to do eLevate. Yes. If you are already a comprehensively trained instructor and you're like, "Oh, I want to learn your teaching style, but it doesn't have to be directly with you. I prefer something in person." You could be a bridge participant in UpLift. So it's definitely for people who want to become a Pilates instructor. But there are ways where you're already doing some sort of teaching that you may prefer UpLift to eLevate. Those of you who are asking me how you can be an educator for eLevate, I love you. Thank you. I'm so glad you're so excited. You actually need to go through eLevate. So the actual proper channel is to go through eLevate, and so you want to go to lesleylogan.co/elevate. If you just want to study with me and not teach UpLift, you can still go through eLevate, but you have to be a comprehensively trained instructor. Boom. There, we did it. Okay.Brad Crowell 5:41 Slayed.Lesley Logan 5:41 We are on summer tour. We are on the road. It's happening. I don't even know what day, we must be in Lawrence, Kansas, or we might be in Nashville today. Hold on.Brad Crowell 5:49 The 6th. I think we're in Lawrence or Knoxville. Let's see.Lesley Logan 5:53 Well, I don't know what day the tour starts, and I actually haven't looked, but we do start in Denver. That sold out. Lawrence, Kansas, that's sold out. Then it's Nashville. Then it's Knoxville, a rooftop location for the mat class. It's going to be so freaking cool. Then it's Greensboro, North Carolina. I know we have a day off before we go to Augusta, Georgia. Then Atlanta, Georgia.Brad Crowell 6:13 We're in Lawrence on A ugust 6.Lesley Logan 6:14 August 6. So this is Lawrence, Kansas. Second day of the tour is August 6. Oh, we start on my brother's birthday. There we go. That'll be easy to remember. So there is, at the time of this recording, still space in stops 3 all the way to 14, but spaces are very much running out in Atlanta, Huntsville, Birmingham, Jackson, and Tucson. In fact, they might already be gone by the time you listen to this. But there is some good space in Nashville, Knoxville, Greensboro, Augusta, Frisco, and El Paso. So in El Paso, we're going to be teaching in Spanish. I mean, I'm going to have a translator. I don't know how to teach in Spanish. I know how to understand if she's saying what I said in Spanish. So don't worry, I can hear that. So our tour is powered by Balanced Body, which means we have gift certificates and prizes to give away. We have the Contrology equipment to bring in, so you can try it out. We have a discount, something you can use to buy your own equipment. Sure. So come on down, opc.me/tour. And then if you're new here, don't forget to check out our Pilates flashcards and our posters. Our flashcards are amazing, and you can buy them from us and support an amazing small company, and part of the money that you spend goes to the Nevada SPCA, which helps dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and bunnies get well taken care of till they find their furever home, as they would say, furever home. And if you want our posters, we have those, too.Brad Crowell 7:38 I caught that (inaudible).Lesley Logan 7:39 Yeah, well, you just looked around like, "What did she say?" So, opc.me/flashcards, opc.me/posters. Look how easy we make those links. What is not easy is if you want to send your win in to celebrate that you got those posters or flashcards, you have to send it into beitpod.com/questions. All right, we no longer take your questions here. We do those on Sundays on YouTube, on our YouTube Live, so come to that. Our OnlinePilatesClasses.com has a YouTube channel, and we go live every Sunday chatting with you. So instead, we bring up a charity that's topical for the time. So what is it, Brad?Brad Crowell 8:15 That's right. All right, this month is Vaccination or Immunization Awareness Month.Lesley Logan 8:19 Vaccination or Immunization Awareness Month.Brad Crowell 8:22 That's what it is. So August, we're focusing on Vaccinate Your Family. Kicking off our immunization spotlight, we're featuring Vaccinate Your Family, a nonprofit with serious roots. It was founded in 1991 by former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.Lesley Logan 8:34 Love the Carters.Brad Crowell 8:36 And former Arkansas First Lady Betty Bumpers.Lesley Logan 8:41 It looks like "Ladybug" if you go too fast because it says "First Lady Betty Bumpers," and I just read "Ladybug."Brad Crowell 8:46 That's amazing. Originally as Every Child By Two, renamed Vaccinate Your Family in 2018. Lesley Logan 8:52 The goal was to like get people vaccinated by two years old.Brad Crowell 8:55 Its mission is to protect people of all ages from vaccine-preventable diseases by reaching everyone in the U.S. with science-based information and a real pathway to immunization, including a tool that helps families figure out how to actually pay for vaccines and a grassroots advocacy program that trains everyday people to share their stories. In a year where measles has come roaring back across our entire country, the work matters more than usual. And this month we're featuring a very well-vetted...Lesley Logan 9:22 YesBrad Crowell 9:23 ...charity. I mean, they don't get more vetted than this. They have a 92% score and four-star rating from Charity Navigator, plus a Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid. Whether you're a parent, a caregiver, or someone who just wants families to have clear answers and real access, this one is absolutely worth a look. Find out more and support them at vaccinateyourfamily.com.Lesley Logan 9:42 And I think this is really important because it's a really weird time right now where people are trusting influencers over actual science-based information, and that can be very harmful. Not just for the people who get misinformation, but also for the people that that misinformation negatively affects, right? Like there are people who believe that these vaccines are causing autism out in the world. Autism has been here before vaccines. It's not a thing you catch. It's a thing that's part of how your body and brain all work together. And when people spread that misinformation, it negatively affects people who are autistic in a way that's unfair and unwarranted and awful. But the other reality is there are people who cannot get vaccinated for whatever reason. Like there are people who are either not old enough for certain vaccines or their system is going through something. They have cancer or things like that, and so they cannot. And so as a community, we are supposed to be doing this together. And because of misinformation about vaccines that has been debunked too many times, the U.S. is no longer measles-free, and in fact, they think that we'll never get it back. And it's a sad thing because measles does ruin your entire immune system, including things you were already immunized from.Brad Crowell 10:59 And you could die.Lesley Logan 11:00 Yeah, you can. And if you want to see a real-life example of how they educate and talk about that and be entertained, watch The Pitt. Yep, very interesting episode about that. Maybe you don't die, but maybe the person that got exposed to it in those first four days that you had it...Brad Crowell 11:12 Yeah.Lesley Logan 11:13 ...couldn't be vaccinated. I mean...Brad Crowell 11:14 When they did, I can't remember if it was smallpox or measles back in the day. The pitch was not everybody can get the vaccine.Lesley Logan 11:22 Yeah.Brad Crowell 11:23 So therefore, it's incumbent on us to give a shit about our neighbors who can't get it.Lesley Logan 11:28 It was polio.Brad Crowell 11:29 I think it was polio.Lesley Logan 11:30 Your great uncle got polio.Brad Crowell 11:31 You're right. I think it was polio. So not everyone can get the vaccine because of immunity stuff. So the best thing for the community is for everyone who can get the vaccine to get the vaccine so that we are not carriers or passing things along. A nd it protects others.Lesley Logan 11:49 Well, and also it's really interesting. Dr. Divya on Instagram did this whole thing about the best peptide you can get, the best peptide. And she talked about how amazing peptides are, what peptides are, how they come from your body. GLP-1, the P stands for peptide, and everyone in the world is super into peptides. And she said the best peptide is a vaccination.Brad Crowell 12:09 Right. B ecause that's what they fucking are.Lesley Logan 12:14 That's what they are.Brad Crowell 12:16 Right. Yep.Lesley Logan 12:16 It's hard. It's fucking hard. Anyway, there's a lot of bad stuff. I understand there's all the awful history about how a lot of vaccinations were done and how racist stuff happened, and so I get that there are so many layers, and I don't want our conversation here to be pedantic or small about it. But I do want to acknowledge that we got rid of fucking measles, and now we're not.Brad Crowell 13:17 Yeah, now it's back.Lesley Logan 13:18 Vaccinate your family, if you want to help support them, to help people who are not misinformed yet get taken care of and get the help they need because a lot of these things are free if they know about it.Brad Crowell 13:30 If you have a charity that you think should be featured or we should be talking about, let us know. Go to beitpod.com/questions, and you can also leave us a win for the Friday episode. Stick around. We'll be right back. We're going to talk about Amy Dickens.Brad Crowell 13:43 All right, welcome back. Let's talk about Amy Dickens. Amy is a joy advocate, author of 101 Ways to Spread Joy, and the creator of Joyfully You. She helps people reconnect to their joy as a tool for nervous system regulation and transformation. After struggling with mental health challenges into her mid-to-late 20s, Amy discovered that finding joy became her turning point. Her experience led her to explore how community and intentional joy practices reshape lives, and she's known for leading joy parades in the streets and helping others overcome social anxiety to build meaningful connections. That's pretty freaking cool.Lesley Logan 14:23 So cool. And I have to be honest, I'm sure someone in her life was like, "You're gonna make money doing this?" But she is, and she's doing a great job, and she brings such a smile to your face. I loved so much of what she said. When we show up as the joy that we wish to see in the world, that creates this invisible ripple effect, and it's so true.Brad Crowell 14:43 Did you say be it till you see it?Lesley Logan 14:45 Be it till you see it. I think that's what she said. That's what I said. Yeah. No, and I think this is so true. If there's an idea, if you need love, go give love. If you need joy, go give joy to people. Go smile. Go be. She says in a world full of fear and divisiveness, joy acts as a breath of fresh air. Yeah. And it really is true. In the industry that I'm in, it can be really negative, really nasty. I'm super pissed about people taking my IP and all this stuff. But I have this girl who's in a similar situation where someone in another country is using her stuff, has gone through all these efforts, and she's finally at the end of the rope. She's like, "All I can do is actually just put all the evidence on Facebook, call them out, and blast it because I can't go any further." And she's like, "Would you help me share this?" And I said, "I can't do that." I said, "It's not that I don't support you. Not that I probably wouldn't do the same thing. It's that I try not to put out negative stuff in this industry. I try to find a positive way to talk about the shit so that there's hope." And that goes through, like, how can we figure out a way to be the breath of fresh air?Brad Crowell 15:50 Yeah.Lesley Logan 15:51 In our offices, in the family situation, so that not only do we experience joy, but people do too. And maybe those people who are fearful and divisive might actually, I don't know. Maybe something happens when they experience a little bit of joy..Brad Crowell 16:03 Yeah, it's interesting. It's tough to stay focused on the positive, especially if somebody is maligning you or stealing from you. So yeah, that's a hard thing.Lesley Logan 16:14 I think that's a distinction in the joy. And then we had a guest last year where we talked about toxic positivity. Being a breath of fresh air and finding joy does not have to be in the shit that's happening. It can actually be next to the shit, right? It's like the idea of, like, okay, your house burnt down, so at least I get to design that master bedroom that I wanted. Like, that would be a toxic positivity thing. Finding joy is the neighbors that came over and showed how much they love and support you, and brought you new items and new things. I think finding joy or being the joy doesn't mean that you're not feeling feelings. It just means that you are not hyper-focused on all the shit.Brad Crowell 16:54 Hyper-focused on all the shit. Yep. I really loved when she was talking about how do you predict joy and happiness. She said that the number one predictor is your relationships.Lesley Logan 17:09 Yes.Brad Crowell 17:10 In life.Lesley Logan 17:10 We were talking about this with another person. Not us, with another person. You heard a guy talking about happiness and quality of relationship. It has to be with three prongs. So this is very fascinating. Your number one predictor of happiness is your relationships, and it's like the idea of you're the average of the five people you hang out with.Brad Crowell 17:28 Yeah, sure.Lesley Logan 17:28 So if they're shitty people, you're probably not going to have a lot of joy.Brad Crowell 17:31 Yeah, she said it includes both deep, intimate relationships, but also saying hi to random strangers.Lesley Logan 17:37 I like that you do that. My mom does that. I think I smile. I acknowledge.Brad Crowell 17:43 Yeah, I definitely started doing that when I was a teenager, and I would just compliment people. You know, "I like your shoes," or "I like your sweatshirt."Lesley Logan 17:52 All the time. They don't even listen sometimes. He said something one night in the airport. He told this one person, "I like your jacket," and a guy with a shitty jacket was like, "This thing?" And it was like, "No, I was talking to her."Brad Crowell 18:02 It was like, "Oh my god."Lesley Logan 18:04 But anyways, we all had a good laugh, so there was joy there. And you were a little pocket of joy for someone.Brad Crowell 18:09 So funny.Lesley Logan 18:09 Yeah. But if you are, "I can't say hi to strangers because what if they're crazy? What if they come at me?" Ladies, I feel you, which is why I actually make sure I'm very kind to the people behind the counter of the places that I get coffee. They are safe. They are behind the coffee thing.Brad Crowell 18:26 Yeah.Lesley Logan 18:26 Someone vetted them to work at that coffee place, and so I will bring joy to them. And then if I want to the people around me, I have a witness. So I feel good about it. I don't do it on the street as much, but, you know.Brad Crowell 18:36 She said that even saying hi to your neighbor actually matters for your mental health and joy. Yeah. So saying hi, or waving, or being kind to the mail person or whatever. She said we are in a loneliness epidemic right now, and learning to build community is a skill.Lesley Logan 18:51 Yeah. Brad Crowell 18:52 Learning to build community is a skill. The hard part requires being brave, that moment of hello, but the payoff is actual community and connection, right? That is amazing for our own loneliness, our own mental health, for our own joy and our own happiness. So she said, you have to put yourself in situations where you feel really scared and you're doing it anyways.Lesley Logan 19:17 It's like she listened to the podcast.Brad Crowell 19:20 Yeah. Actually, I was laughing because so many things—do it scared. She didn't say "be it till you see it," but she basically described that. A lot of the things that she was talking about, I was laughing because I was like, "Oh yeah, we say that. We talk about that."Lesley Logan 19:35 I love it. I love it. I know, and I think that's really true. There is a loneliness epidemic. One thing that I love about our situation where we live now versus the apartment, because we couldn't really just, I guess we did know our mail person at the apartment, but we know our FedEx driver, we know our UPS people, we know our mail lady. And even the ones we don't know, we're always out there. We meet them outside, like, "Hey, how's it going?" They know. They're like, "Oh, this is the Pilates house, right?" They probably don't have a lot of engagement. They're just on the roads dealing with people. So if you just even be nice to them, you might be the impact that they need.Brad Crowell 20:20 By doing that, you're the impact that you need.Lesley Logan 20:22 Yes, I agree. I remember, oh my gosh, when I worked in retail, we had the same UPS driver Monday to Friday and a different guy on Saturday, and we loved our Monday-to-Friday guy. We would talk to him every day. One day we didn't have him. He's like, "Oh yeah, I was subbing around in Newport." "You're going to leave us for the ocean, aren't you?" And he's, "No, I'm in AC all day. I don't have to do anything." But we were such good friends with our UPS driver, and it was something to look forward to every day. It's like part of the routine. Here he comes.Brad Crowell 20:47 That's fun. Yeah, I love it. Well, stick around. We'll be right back. We're gonna dig into those Be It Action Items. Welcome back. Let's talk about those Be It Action Items that you had with Amy Dickens. What bold, executable, intrinsic, or targeted action items can we take away from your convo? She said she uses two practices for maintaining joy. The first one is miracle walks.Lesley Logan 21:12 I love this.Brad Crowell 21:13 Yeah, and she said... Lesley Logan 21:14 Like, the miracle dreams person we had.Brad Crowell 21:17 She said, just walk around. Walk your block. And she said, "Look up." She changes her perspective instead of looking down at her phone or ahead on the sidewalk. Look up. What are you actually seeing? She said, "You cannot return until you identify three miracles on this walk." Okay, so miracle number one might be dew on a leaf or birds singing, right? So three things where you're just observing something that is amazing, something that is astounding.Lesley Logan 21:43 I do this every morning. I take a note of the moon and the sunrise every morning.Brad Crowell 21:48 I love that.Lesley Logan 21:48 Yes. I see if I have a third one.Brad Crowell 21:51 For me, it's often like a cactus. I'll take a closer look at them because they're all fascinating, how they grow. It's completely different.Lesley Logan 22:01 They change every day.Brad Crowell 22:02 Yeah, it's crazy.Lesley Logan 22:03 Especially right now because of the flowering.Brad Crowell 22:05 Yeah, I know. This part of the year is so beautiful in Vegas. She said this trains your brain to actively scan for beauty and joy in places you've already walked a thousand times.Lesley Logan 22:16 Yes.Brad Crowell 22:16 So instead of just letting it all pass you by, even in the city, there are amazing things to see. So I love it. Miracle walks is one. Two, calendar blocking. Prioritize scheduling connection and joy before filling your calendar with work.Lesley Logan 22:31 This is actually very much on brand with what I say when I teach people how to do their schedule on our retreat, which is you have to put your priorities first.Brad Crowell 22:40 Yep.Lesley Logan 22:40 Sleep.Brad Crowell 22:41 Yep.Lesley Logan 22:42 Light is genius. Sleep.Brad Crowell 22:43 Yeah, your rocks in your schedule, the way we describe that, is prioritizing the opportunity for connection and joy should be paramount. It should absolutely be a part of your schedule.Lesley Logan 22:56 Yes, yes.Brad Crowell 22:57 You know, for me, youLesley Logan 22:58 You cannot fit joy in. You're gonna fit it in. It's gonna stress it out.Brad Crowell 23:02 Yeah, for me, it's been sitting on the front porch, drinking my coffee in the morning, just gathering my thoughts and enjoying the day. You know.Lesley Logan 23:10 You know what we have not done?Brad Crowell 23:11 Tell me.Lesley Logan 23:12 We have not told the podcast we have a dog.Brad Crowell 23:14 Oh. We have a new dog.Lesley Logan 23:18 Yeah.Brad Crowell 23:18 Congratulations, us.Lesley Logan 23:20 Yeah. We'll talk more about that another day.Brad Crowell 23:22 Yeah, we'll we'll share that more, if you're on socials. I'm sure you've seen it on Instagram.Lesley Logan 23:26 And your morning, the reason that thought dolphined up, is because you sit out on the porch in the mornings with the dog.Brad Crowell 23:43 Yes.Lesley Logan 23:43 And Darla tried to join this routine, and it did not bring Darla joy.Brad Crowell 23:47 She lasted about five minutes. It did not bring Darla joy. Lesley Logan 23:50 No, no, no. Brad Crowell 23:52 What about you? What was your biggest takeaway?Lesley Logan 23:53 Okay, give yourself permission to follow your joy, whatever big or little ways that might be. Okay, this is really important. Let me finish her thought. Take a deep breath. Be honest with yourself. Write it all down. Say, "Okay, today, what would I feel like if I was 5% more alive right now?" So she's giving you permission to follow your joy, whatever that is. I want to just make sure I say this. My loves, my ADHD people, my high overachiever perfectionists, just because something brings you joy does not mean you have to get paid to do it. So please, permission to follow your joy and not make it have a return on investment other than joy.Brad Crowell 24:35 Right.Lesley Logan 24:36 As soon as I started telling people I was reading my tarot, I kept having people say, "You do a reading for me." No. Don't take my joy from me. And so I stopped telling people because they're trying to make a job out of it. And then some people might go, "Oh, why are you doing that? You can't make money from that." That's not your point. So just protect your joy thing. Yep. Okay.Brad Crowell 24:52 I love it.Lesley Logan 24:52 So, in giving yourself permission to follow your joy, you don't have to rewrite your whole life story, but allow yourself just a little of that as a tiny little reframe, like a new way of telling the same thing about yourself or a new way of adding something in. You're not changing everything about yourself to add a little bit of joy, but you are probably an affirmation of, like, "I am someone who sees joy in my morning walks." That's not changing everything you are, but it's changing that one little spot and reframing those things. So, anyways.Brad Crowell 25:22 Yeah, I dig it.Lesley Logan 25:23 I think she's great.Brad Crowell 25:24 This was a really fun podcast. Her demeanor and her attitude were amazingly joyfu and it's contagious.Lesley Logan 25:30 Oh yeah. And also, 101 Ways to Spread Joy.
