I got to know Aurélie online via some common friends and immediately fell in love with her work on simplifying complex topics (namely Istio and Kubernetes) visually. So I had to have her on the podcast. Aurélie holds two hats, a Cloud Developer and DevRel, so you are getting to learn about two positions in this episode, it's that cool? We talked with Aurélie about her background, education, and past experiences. We also discussed what she does these days in her current roles. Aurélie has an inspiring story that I hope you will enjoy. A Women in tech, Mom who code and SRE @Talend. Gaëlle Acas has a long and rich experience, from coding on AS400 and Unix systems to PHP and web to Cloud and SRE. I meet Gaëlle back in 2019 during kubecon Barecelona. We had a long conversation during the conference and kept in touch on Twitter. Gaëlle didn't hesitate to come on the show and share her experience and wisdom with us. If there is anything I'd like you to take from this episode is “Don't wait for people to congratulate you, pat yourself on the back, and move on”, that's the advice Gaëlle received at the beginning of her career and she still uses until today. I hope you will enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it. A new episode of the Cloud Careers Podcast is here, with a special guest. My very good friend Rustam Mehmandarov is a Chief Engineer with Computas AS in Oslo, Norway. I meet Rustam at a conference in the Nordics a while ago and we have been bumping into each other ever since. Including my last memorable in-person conference JFokus in Sweden. Rustam has been around for a while, he has a long career wearing various hats, he runs conferences and communities and gives talks often. We discussed all of that and the importance of giving back and helping others grow. Enjoy listening to this one.

Episode 01: Ilyas Bakouch, AWS Solutions Architect

My first episode with a very special guest. Ilyas Bakouch, who lives in Montreal, Canada, and works for AWS as a Solutions Architect. I and Ilyas grow up in the same city (Fez, Morocco) and we had a somehow similar education background, we both went through the public school system and ended up in the private ones to get our degrees, although to be honest, I'm a bit jealous of Ilyas as he studies Economics and finance in high school. Now at 35, I wish I was taught how money works at a young age. We discussed Ilyas's background, careers, experiences, and how he ended up with AWS. We discussed the importance of focusing on the fundamentals of CS, helping others, and being genuine. I really enjoyed recording this one, I hope you will enjoy listening.
