The epitome of a tsedek (just) man is Jesus. Do get an image of what it looks like to defend mishpat and become tsedekah we need look no further than Jesus.
In this third episode of The G.O.A.T. Aj discusses the role the navi (prophets) play in terms of justice and righteousness. When Israel got away from their primary calling of representing God in the earth, the prophets would come and protest the rights of the vulnerable in their society as well as instruct Israel back into their calling.
In this lesson Aj invites you to explore what the OT law was trying to show us in terms of justice and righteousness. The law was a peace treaty between God and man and a constitution between fellow men and it's motive was to protect the sanctity of the highest image on earth, mankind.
There is a lot of cultural tension going on in North America right now and a lot of cries for justice. In this series of discussions Aj will focus on the Biblical definition of Justice and how the Biblical authors felt about someone who was righteous. We invite you to leave your religious dogmas and North American cultural at the door as we approach the ancient concept of justice & righteousness and let the Bible be the guide to how we proceed forward as Christians.
In this final episode of The Wild Beast conversation, Aj & Amanda discuss that God did not just want us to be aware that we are beasts but also to give us a plan of becoming something better! His plan was to transform us from a beast to a bride. In this episode we will explore the Jewish tradition of marriage and how Jesus fulfilled every marriage act as He was pursuing mankind. The plan laid out before us was a plan divinely orchestrated by God to transform us from our beast like status to a bride that Jesus could come back for!
In this second episode of the wild beasts, Aj and Amanda dig into Genesis a bit more as well as the New Testament and explore how mankind has fallen from the mountain of Eden thus losing their status of being spiritual beings to be reduced to the status of an animal. We will see this trend developing throughout the Old Testament pointing us towards someone who will come and be something higher than a mere animal, a son of man...
In this first episode of this new series, The Wild Beasts, Aj and Amanda dig into Genesis and explore how man and beast were created on day 6 and that man was created after the beast thus making man the second born. Both were created from the dust but man was made into something higher than the beast.Man inherits from God the breath of life (Hebrew nsamah; spirit). Both man and beast were a living nephesh aka creature, but man had the spirit of God breathed into him and was given dominion over the first born. God then separates man and beast further by giving them different diets. The mans diet would consist of fruit and nuts while the beast would eat from the grass of the field, until the first born decided he would cause the second born to sale the birthright... With this framework in mind, we can see that something below the surface of the text is beginning to brew to the top! Listen in as Aj and Amanda unpack this thought further as they discuss this first born animal
