An episode from Liberty Behind Bars Ministry, a ministry serving the incarcerated across America located in Belfast, New York.“I spent half of my life in and out of jails, prisons, rehabs, and other facilities.  Unfortunately, the programs that were offered did not help me to become a productive member of society, it just made me a better inmate.  What changed me, was a new life in Jesus Christ and reading/studying a King James Bible.Many prisons, jails, and other institutions have heard from many of their inmates that they are changed due to religion. However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own people.This is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in.  Not only do we minister to those behind the jail walls we help them transition into society; differently than they did in the past.  The goal is to break the cycle of recidivism and help people have a changed life in Jesus Christ.  I have my Doctorate in Christian Biblical Counseling and use this knowledge to not only help those within the jail/prison walls, but also to support their family members. Summary This message reveals that divine order is not created by human structure, hierarchy, or position, but by submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. In this “new day,” individual independence gives way to corporate submission—each member of the Body aligned under Christ as Head. Ministries such as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are not ranks of authority but expressions of the Holy Spirit moving through different members at different times. No individual receives preeminence; the anointing belongs to God alone. Just as a physical body functions in coordinated harmony under the direction of the head, so the Ecclesia functions when every part submits one to another under Christ. Divine order is not democracy, nor hierarchy—it is Spirit-led alignment under the Lordship of Jesus. Show Notes 1. Divine Order Is Not Man-Made Divine order is not someone “setting people in place.”It is not structural hierarchy.It flows from submission to Jesus Christ as Lord.In this day, independence in spiritual life is not sustainable.The whole family must be aligned together. 2. The Holy Spirit Creates the Order The Holy Spirit is the source of all anointing.Ministry roles are not fixed titles but Spirit-led expressions.At one moment someone may function apostolically; at another, differently.The Spirit is the true Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.God does not share His glory with individuals. 3. The Body Functions Through Alignment No part is more important than another.Just as the physical body functions under the brain's direction, the Body of Christ functions under Christ as Head.When one part is missing or out of alignment, the whole body suffers.Divine order means the right function at the right time under the Spirit's direction. 4. Submission Is the Key Jesus washing the disciples' feet demonstrated mutual submission.Leadership exists for equipping the saints—not self-exaltation.“Submit one to another in the fear of God.”Lordship is not democracy; Christ is Lord.Under His Lordship, we are changed and refined. 5. The True Ecclesia The church is not a building but people gathered in submission to Christ.Ministries are gifts for maturity in the Body.God sets members in the Body as it pleases Him.The goal is a mature, functioning Body under Christ. This episode is focused on connecting with your body and soul through walking. Yes. Walking. Something I have had zero focus on my entire life. I looked at walking as a waste of time. But now I'm devoting near ⅓ of my exercise time to it. I am about to go out for a 2.5 walk with 45lbs on my back, right now. My guest here is Michael Easter who I've known about since 2021 when he published his book, The Comfort Crisis. In my peer group of people pursuing wellness, this book immediately became a mainstay and I resonated with the message hugely because I continue to question that our modern day conveniences have helped us at all. I think they have hurt us, and this is what Michael showcased in The Comfort Crisis. In that book he really helped put rucking on the map. Rucking is simply walking while carrying weight. It's well known in the military, but now has become commonplace amongst us civilians. Here we discuss the physiological and psychological benefits of not only walking with weights, but simply walking. I feel that through walking, differently than running or mountain biking or other activities, I am connecting with me, and possibly benefitting my body more than with all my more extreme athletic pursuits. Christ, the Son of God in human nature, died on the cross on Good Friday because of the sins of the human race.By being obedient to his heavenly Father, Christ made atonement for all our disobediences and set us free from the slavery of Satan and of sin.In his resurrection, his human nature was glorified by God the Father, and if we follow Christ faithfully in this life, we will all be offered a share in an eternal life of glory.During the forty days of Lenten, we make a commitment to fasting or giving up certain things in our lives as an act of penitence.The number 40 is significant throughout Scripture; Noah was on the Ark for 40 days, Moses fasted 40 days before receiving the Ten Commandments, and Jesus spent 40 days fasting in preparation for His work on earth.The celebration of Lent is not a commandment but an opportunity to renew our faith and edify our spirit.Today is the Optional Memorial of St. Polycarp of Smyrna (69-155), who was converted to Christianity by St. John the Evangelist. He was a disciple of the apostles and a friend of St. Ignatius of Antioch. He suffered martyrdom in 155 by burning at the stake in the amphitheater of Smyrna.Today's Gospel tells us that we must practice charity and perform works of mercy to all, without distinction, in the name of Christ. Author David Foster Wallace is credited with a story in a commencement speech, where he shares, "There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says 'Morning, boys. How's the water?' And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and says 'What the hell is water?'" We live in a culture where the expectation is to have absolutely everything.  And more. Obviously there is a material cost to everything. Money. And it takes time to make money. So we cost ourselves a lot of work to afford all the stuff. But regardless. Even if you win the lottery and can easily afford anything. Having stuff takes up our mental space, and I don't think we consider this. I sure didn't. I was just like the fish. Stuff? What stuff? I don't feel I bought things needlessly. Or for status. I had a big family. If we felt we needed something? Get it. Maybe get two. If someone might need it, let's have it on hand. This had its value. But my gosh. There is just stuff. Everywhere.
