It’s not basketball, but our own little turmoils that have left us in a whirlwind of sorts. Susan shares and sounds more like “Susan off podcast” to me more and more with each recording and I just love this episode. Kim Pelt + Susan RyanOne of our favorite motivators, Brene Brown, says that perhaps JOY in our lives is not like a constant blinding floodlight. That would become unbearable in time. She believes "a joyful life is made up of joyful moments gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude, and inspiration." She thinks the "beauty of twinkle lights is a perfect metaphor for joy." It is so easy for us to imagine those two things...the blinding floodlights vs. the beauty of the twinkle lights...and see JOY in the twinkle lights. Why are these things so easy to realize when someone else says it so eloquently, yet even at our age we expect to be instantly filled with JOY magically 24/7? Is that not what we expect? Are we waiting on the floodlights to be lit and missing the beauty of the twinkle lights?This week, we share hard lessons learned, goals we've met, and people that have inspired us.
