Podcast by Mike Vaughan
Listen to the ennui of a directionless 45 year old, unsure of what to do next! Can you relate? Can you offer any advice? Sounds 'fun' eh? x
As we ease out of Lockdown, I'm trying to get back into the practice of recording and releasing more of these. This, as the title suggests (!!) is just a brain dump I recorded basically because I'm procrastinating going for a run! I didn't really have a topic to discuss and just hit record and saw what came out! I mainly speak about the blissful return to gigging and what that means to me, and how having this back in my life makes me realise how much, to me, it's almost as essential as breathing. I'm also on the look out for people to talk to on here, so get in touch!! Mike :-)
Forgive the hyperbolic title, but one's gotta grab people's attention!! This is a continuation of Episode #009, where we discussed my Top 5 Tips For Coping With COVID Lockdowns. In this episode I expand upon that and suggest 7 little daily things we can do that will start a little daily ritual that will hopefully build a strong foundation of positive energy and feelings of self worth that will enable us to build upon and move towards our goals, feeling more energised and positive about ourselves. Give it a go, they are 7 tiny things can be be done in minutes but that could really help, especially in these challenging times. Give 'em a go, and I'll see you on the otherside
I had an amazing conversation with Patrick/Paddy/Panny Conner of The Sturmey Archers fame and we covered a huge breadth of topics. the main points, though, were what does 'success' mean, are you a musician or an artist? Both? One more than the other, or on the spectrum of both. We discuss so much it's hard to sum up[ in a pithy paragraph, but I really think any creatives will get something from this. The best place to discover Paddy's music, and fall in love, is here: https://soundcloud.com/paddyconner You're welcome
YAY!!! My first podcast in over a year!!
Aniya Savage is a Singer/Songwriter currently based in Bristol, UK. She is an amazing, talented and effulgent human being who kindly accepted the challenge of coming on a UK busking tour with me!! This took us all the way from Hythe, near Southampton, all the way up to Loch Lomond in Scotland. It was a beautiful experience and we chat about much of it here. If you'd like to listen to Aniya's music you can find her on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/AniyaSavage/ or Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/aniyasavagemusic/ Thanx for listening, and thank you Aniya for being a legend :-D x
This is the first podcast under the new name 'Will We Ever Get To Mars'. I discuss the reasons for the name change and the direction and goals for the new Podcast.
Just me talking for 55 minutes ;-) about various subjects, but mainly centred around the topics in the title. This was spurred on by watching several videos of protests and fights in Berklee and Portland Oregon between people on the 'right' and 'left'. :-S Watch me and my noggin go for a spin, get caught in several spirals and then become submerged in confusion about my left and right ;-) And a phone call from my mum. And various other revelries. :-)
New Podcast with just me talking about the potential new format of Audio Only, to test whether the iTunes link is still active, and to discuss what is 'normal'? :-) x
(this is the Second Part of my discussion with Scott) Scott is one of my closest friends and I have known him since I was 6. I think it's important to nurture these friendships and discuss life, the passing of time, who we were then, who we are now, how our view on life may ave changed or remained the same, discuss music, discuss parenthood. And talk bollocks. ;-) We do all of this and more in this Podcast, and me gets the feeling that Scott will be a frequent visitor to the Discussed Podcast forum...well, I hope he is :-D x He's truly a superb photographer and artist; here is his website: www.scottchalmers.co.uk

I sat down in the studio with good friend and AWESOME bassist, musician, and human being Aidan Hampson. Aidan plays bass for many projects; he also plays piano, guitar, trombone to name a few and he has a very successful series of 'Bass Transcription' book which are highly praised, often by the original players. We discuss all of that, and somehow manage to drift from bass transcriptions to Hitler ;-)I hope you enjoy this discussion as much as I did :-) Aidan's website is here: http://aidanhampson.co.uk/
Jon Matthews is a good friend and a talented comedian. We took a drive down to Brighton to watch Stewart Lee perform at The Dome. It was a great night and here is the conversation from the drive down...including when we get lost... ;-) Jon's website is: www.jonmatthewscomedy.webeden.co.uk
