This week I am joined with another one of my friends from WVU, Ty Harris. Ty and I are both advertising majors and became friends at WVU after we took some classes together for our major. Over the years we have remained friends and he always been a positive individual to be around. We both are in the creatives and both share similar views on how we look at the world and the impact we can make to it through creativity. Ty makes music in his free time to express his creativity and is always working on a project or hustle to improve his future self. He also shared some great perspective from his own life experience and how being a good person can help us all get along better and work together as a society. Ty has two new albums out now! This week I am joined with another friend and old roommate, Delia Feeney. Delia was my roommate for two years after she moved to West Virginia from Brooklyn, NY. Since she has moved to West Virginia, she has formed a core group of friends she now considers family and has learned to appreciate the small town vibes that West Virginia has to offer. Last year before the pandemic, Delia started her own clothing business, Double Dee's, where she makes handmade bathing suits geared towards women with larger breast. She also creates other unique accessories with her own touch of style and uses materials she can find or make herself. With mental health awareness month now over, I wanted to share something different from the regular episodes to encourage you to keep prioritizing your mental health beyond the month of May. My next guest is Jericka Handie, co-founder of SwiftEnough, an equitable space for self-care & healing. Jericka founded SwiftEnough with her brother over a year ago during the pandemic to make sure every type of person, especially people of color have a safe space for wellness and self-healing. Jericka and I met three years ago in Oklahoma at the National Press Photographers Association. We have remained friends and have stayed in touch over the years. I even got to go back to Oklahoma for a visit and Jericka came to West Virginia for the first time as well.
