Su labor más destacada ha sido en su faceta de divulgadora científica, habiendo impartido talleres y conferencias en muchos países, publicado numerosos artículos y libros. En numerosas ocasiones ha colaborado en programas de televisión y radio, donde su pasión por la ciencia se vuelve el medio para dar a conocer el mundo de la ciencia a un gran número de personas. Artemis regresó al planeta Tierra

Fue el primer jugador de fútbol a escala mundial. Pasó de ser campeón en 1947 con River Plate y con la Selección Argentina, a formar parte del elenco estelar del Ballet Azul de Millonarios en Colombia que fue tricampeón en 1949, 50 y 52, marcando 90 goles en 101 partidos. Y fue tan notable su actuación frente al Real Madrid en uno de esos encuentros que resultó en que saltara de continente en 1953 para ocupar el centro del ataque de aquel renombrado club español. Fue allí donde Alfredo di Stéfano, «la Saeta Rubia», dio inicio al ciclo más brillante que jugador alguno haya tenido en un equipo. Ganó 10 títulos, se adjudicó dos veces el Balón de Oro, y fue cinco veces el máximo goleador de la temporada. Su cuota de 418 goles en total en 518 partidos oficiales contribuyó a que el equipo blanco de la capital española ganara, una tras otra, las primeras cinco ediciones de la Copa de Campeones de Europa entre 1956 y 1960, ocho Ligas de España entre 1954 y 1964, y la primera Copa Intercontinental en 1960. Por si todo eso fuera poco, en calidad de director técnico en 1971 sacó campeón de la Liga Española al Valencia. Y de vuelta en su natal Buenos Aires, llegó a ser el único director técnico en la historia de Argentina en ganar el Campeonato Nacional con los dos clubes más reconocidos y de mayor rivalidad: el Boca Juniors en 1969, y el River Plate en 1981.1  Durante la temporada de 1996-97, habiendo pasado de ser director técnico a ser asesor de la Presidencia del Real Madrid, Di Stéfano veía y evaluaba desde el palco los partidos. Tras la derrota de su equipo una tarde en que cayó un aguacero, disgustado por lo mucho que uno de sus volantes demoraba en volver a posiciones defensivas, se lo recriminó con su característica ironía, cantándole la atinada letra de la canción de Armando Manzanero que dice: «Esta tarde vi llover, / vi gente correr, / y no estabas tú...»2 Es que cuando a «la Saeta» le preguntaban cuál era su puesto en la cancha, el solía responder: «Mi quinta mide 110 por 70.»3 ¡Y en esa quinta corría como una gacela y jugaba como un genio! Verónica Llinás es una actriz argentina de teatro, cine y televisión, reconocida especialmente por su maestría en la comedia, dos veces ganadora del Premio Martín Fierro y un Cóndor de Plata. En 2015, protagonizó y codirigió con Laura Citarella La mujer de los perros, un autorretrato ficcionado y contemplativo estrenado en el Festival de Rotterdam, en el que exploró de manera admirable las posibilidades del lenguaje no verbal.Vladimir Durán es un actor y director colombiano radicado en Buenos Aires desde hace varios años. En 2011 compitió por la Palma de Oro de Cannes con su cortometraje Soy tan feliz y en 2018 estrenó en el Forum de la Berlinale su primer largometraje, Adiós entusiasmo. Ha actuado en películas de Franco Lolli, Alejo Moguillansky, Mariano Lllinás y Melisa Liebenthal. En su filmografía ha sido central el trabajo actoral como un proceso de investigación desde el cuerpo y un uso no informativo de la palabra, así como el examen de vínculos ambiguos, especialmente en contextos familiares. El Área de Cultura de Radio Nacional presenta Martín Fierro 150 años - El Poema Nacional, un podcast con motivo del aniversario de la publicación de la primera parte de la obra de José Hernández. (Día Nacional del Gaucho en Argentina) En 1872 el poeta argentino José Hernández publicó por primera vez los versos de El gaucho Martín Fierro, que llegó a considerarse una obra maestra del género gauchesco, lectura obligada en las escuelas primarias de todo el país, y que lo convirtió a él en el poeta nacional. Pero actualmente pocos saben que en el prólogo a la segunda parte de su épico poema, titulada La vuelta de Martín Fierro publicada siete años después, Hernández anhela que haya libros que aprovechen al máximo los géneros culturales de un modo entretenido y educativo, reproduciendo la jerga de sus exponentes y valiéndose de ellos para fomentar los perennes valores morales universales. Uno de esos exponentes, por supuesto, es el gaucho que, según Hernández, «canta porque hay en él cierto impulso moral.... ¡Qué singular es, y qué digno de observación, el oír a nuestros paisanos más incultos expresar, en dos versos claros y sencillos, máximas y pensamientos morales que las naciones más antiguas... conservan como el tesoro inestimable de su sabiduría proverbial..., que la civilización moderna repite por medio de sus moralistas más esclarecidos, y que se hallan consagrados fundamentalmente en los códigos religiosos de todos los grandes reformadores de la humanidad! »Indudablemente... —continúa el épico poeta argentino— hay cierta semejanza íntima, cierta identidad misteriosa entre todas las razas del globo que... vienen deduciendo desde hace más de tres mil años la misma enseñanza, las mismas virtudes naturales, expresadas en prosa por todos los hombres del globo, y en verso por los gauchos que habitan las vastas y fértiles comarcas que se extienden a las dos márgenes del Plata. El corazón humano y la moral son los mismos en todos los siglos.» De ahí que Hernández anhele que esos libros que hacen falta gocen «del dichoso privilegio de circular de mano en mano... y que bajo una forma que los [haga] agradables —[asegurando así] su popularidad— [sirvan] de ameno pasatiempo a sus lectores, pero: . . . . . . . . . . enalteciendo las virtudes morales... que sirven de base a todas las virtudes sociales; ... enseñando... el respeto a los demás; ... aconsejando la perseverancia en el bien; ... recordando a los padres los deberes... para con sus hijos; ... enseñando a los hijos cómo deben respetar y honrar a los autores de sus días; ... encareciendo la felicidad del hogar, enseñando a todos a tratarse con respeto recíproco, robusteciendo por todos estos medios los vínculos de la familia...; enseñando a los hombres con escasas nociones morales que deben ser humanos y clementes, caritativos con el huérfano y con el desvalido, fieles a la amistad, gratos a los favores recibidos, enemigos de la holgazanería y del vicio, amantes de la verdad, tolerantes, justos y prudentes siempre; ... As we enter the holiday season, we reflect. We reflect on the good and the bad. The things we're grateful for and the things we wish had never happened. The last bunch of years has been challenging for all of us. But no one has experienced the pain we've all experienced more than children. They've been subjected to a level of uncertainty that no other group of children has had to experience. From COVID cancellations and ambiguous school policies, to social media pressure, to whatever weird stuff hasn't hit our radar yet — the kids are not all right.  And so as many of us gather together with our families, we wanted to take some time to reflect and to get some answers and ideas on how to move forward past the trauma we've all just experienced. And we've got a returning guest that's the perfect voice to hear from on all of it. Anya Kamenetz (@Anya1Anya) joined us in Episode 57 in May of 2020 to break down the beginnings of the pandemic's effect on children. A deadly shooting at a gay club in Colorado Springs over the weekend left 5 dead and 18 injured. The New York Times tells the story of the hero who stopped the massacre: Richard M. Fierro was at a table in Club Q with his wife, daughter and friends on Saturday, watching a drag show, when the sudden flash of gunfire ripped across the nightclub and instincts forged during four combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan instantly kicked in. Fight back, he told himself, protect your people. In an interview at his house on Monday, where his wife and daughter were still recovering from injuries, Mr. Fierro, 45, who spent 15 years as an Army officer and left as a major in 2013, according to military records, described charging through the chaos at the club, tackling the gunman and beating him bloody with the gunman's own gun. “I don't know exactly what I did, I just went into combat mode,” Mr. Fierro said, shaking his head as he stood in his driveway, an American flag hanging limp in the freezing air. “I just know I have to kill this guy before he kills us.” Meanwhile, the NY Post reports on the suspect's background of abuse: A YouTube channel under his original name, Nick Brink, was started in 2010, when he would have been 10, the Washington Post said. It has 416 subscribers despite appearing to have only posted one video two years later — a profanity-laden, offensive cartoon titled, “Asian homosexual gets molested by floating piece of f—le.” It mainly features characters dropping f-bombs. When he was 15, Brink became a target of what the DC outlet described as “a particularly vicious bout of online bullying.” A Wikipedia-like website was created with his name, photos and online aliases, along with a fictitious biography riddled with insults and ridicule, the paper said, without identifying the site. La semana pasada el gobierno sufrió un revés en la justicia con su decreto que modifica las normas de empaquetado y etiquetado de cigarrillos. Recordemos, el decreto habilitaba el empaquetado de cigarrillos en cajas blandas y permitía a las empresas incluir en el cigarrillo o en el interior de las cajillas: colores, logos o inscripciones. Según reconoció el presidente Luis Lacalle Pou, la nueva disposición se aprobó a pedido de la industria tabacalera uruguaya Monte Paz, para competir en mejor condiciones con los cigarrillos de contrabando que son vendidos en cajillas blandas. El miércoles, la jueza de Familia María Elena Emmenengger acogió un recurso de amparo que había presentado la Sociedad Uruguaya de Tabacología (SUT) y dispuso la suspensión de la aplicación del decreto. El Poder Ejecutivo podía apelar. Pero el viernes comunicó que no lo hacía y quedaba a la espera del pronunciamiento del Tribunal de lo Contencioso Administrativo (TCA), donde está en trámite un recurso de revocación para anular el decreto, presentado también por la SUT. ¿Qué implica este fallo de la Justicia de Familia? ¿Qué se puede esperar, por otra parte, de la acción que se tramita en el TCA? There is, instead, a group of churches and congregations, some in Louisiana, who – they themselves, as they are allowed to do so, are deciding to leave the denomination over the issue of ordination and marriage of LGBTQ persons. That issue is at the heart of their decision to leave. And that issue has been debated for over 50 years. This series of conversations is not about those particular issues.
