Jacob Hayes sits sixth in 250SX West points in Monster Energy Supercross, but the Gas Monkey Energy/AJE Motorsports rider knows the pack in front of him belong to full factory teams. Hayes is a former Kawasaki Team Green amateur standout and the last champion of Amsoil Arenacross, so why hasn't he gotten the right break in supercross? He gets candid about his dad, his reputation, and more. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
KTM and Husqvarna are the dominant players in the off-road racing game, but there was a time when brands like Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha ruled the roost through the rocks and roots. But when several Japanese brands shuttered their programs during the global recession of the late 2000s, the European marques doubled down on off-road. For 2019, Kawasaki has revived its old Team Green off-road squad, shifting the Monster Energy Babbitt's Online Kawasaki team from the now-defunct Amsoil Arenacross series into Grand National Cross Country. Fred Andrews spent nearly a decade racing GNCC for Team Green, and then ran the factory program until it closed. Now that Kawasaki is back, so is Fast Freddie, who will run the outfit along with the Babbitt's team. In this podcast, Jason Weigandt calls up Andrews for tales of building the new team, and also some old war stories from his racing days. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura.

Former Miss Arenacross- Media Operations Manager Feld Motorsports About the demise of Arenacross All season long, we’ve heard rumors that Amsoil Arenacross was not long for this world and that the 2018 season may be its last. When Jacob Hayes clinched the 2018 AX Championship, he announced to the supercross crowd in Las Vegas he […]
Arenacross riders are animals. They ride hard, they bang bars, they take each other out, then they smile, shake hands and move on. As an amateur, Jacob Hayes was a top Kawasaki Team Green prospect but didn't get the big factory ride he hoped for when he turned pro, so he took a chance on arenacross and found a home. He fits right in because he's a little wild, a little crazy, and really fun to hang out with and talk to. But he's always had the dream of racing supercross, and now he will have to make it a reality, because Feld Motor Sports announced that Amsoil Arenacross is no more. Can Jacob prove himself at the top level? He thinks so, as he explains here. We also talk poking The Bear (Tyler Bowers), taking girls on dates in a windowless moto van, and why arenacross rides don't even flinch at the type of riding that gets supercross riders super angry. Jacob Hayes is one heck of a personality, and he could be coming to a supercross near you. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is sponsored by Yoshimura.
