Ken Roczen owned Cleveland for Monster Energy AMA Supercross, with multiple events on Friday that didn't distract him from the racing task at hand. In fact, they probably enhanced it. Because everyone wants Ken Roczen to win right now--well, maybe everyone save Honda and Hunter Lawrence--but even his title rival would have to admit Ken is a good guy and this season has made for a great story. Jason Weigandt was actually with Ken at the Cleveland events on Friday and called the race for the fans on Saturday, and they went wild for the 94. Here's why. Presented by Maxxis Round 13 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, saw the 450-class championship go from the tightest ever at this point of the season, with three racers within five points, to Hunter Lawrence enjoying 10- and 15-point leads over rivals Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac. The hard-packed dirt inside Nissan Stadium posed a problem for many racers, and while Lawrence rode to victory and sole possession of the series points lead, Roczen and Tomac both hit the ground and finished third and 12th, respectively. We cover all of this and more on this week's Maxxis Kickstart Podcast.

There are so many answers to this: A favorite color. Human legs. An enjoyment of oxygen. But chiefly—this is the fun part—you can coach yourself to be better. Great, you say: How? We're glad you asked! Ross is a professional performance coach—he helps race drivers get faster. And many of them, pro and amateur alike, have asked how they can improve when he's not around. So we give you a primer! This show's format rotates weekly, because squirrel. We call this format “Ross Teaches Sam a Thing.” Warning: This one has some deep thoughts in it. And at least one Vampire Weekend lyric. Jeff is off this week because he is a grandparent and was needed for rad grandparent things. Related Trivia: Jeff's grandson Roczen is adorable. Ross has no grandchildren but does have an old Lotus, which is kind of the same thing. Sam has two small kids and he got in a war with them at bedtime last night where everyone threw stuffies at each other and then Sam lost and was dead on the floor no regrets the end. Jason Weigandt jumps into the discussion on the FIM Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, breaking down how the race was won by Team France (which has now won seven times in the last 10 years), as well as the performance of Team USA, Ken Roczen and more. This podcast also contains post-race audio from the Team USA trio of RJ Hampshire, Aaron Plessinger, and Christian Craig, as well as Roczen and Team France's Romain Febvre, Maxime Renaux and Tom Vialle. If Team USA doesn't win, it usually creates heartbreak from U.S. racing fans, but spirits were different this time because expectations for the Craig/Plessinger/Hampshire trio were not as high as for last year's Cooper/Tomac/Sexton squad. But would just getting the likes of Sexton and Tomac back on the team in 2024 automatically solve the problem? Weigandt wonders aloud if the 2022 RedBud win is really a sign that Team USA is back, or if the struggles from 2012-2021 might still remain. Also, he discusses the recent love for Ken Roczen, and if Team Australia will be able to get one of these Chamberlain Trophies during the window of the Lawrence brothers. Much to discuss, and here it is. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is hosted by Jason Weigandt and sponsored by Yoshimura, Leatt, and Steel City Men's Clinic.
