Welcome to an episode where we explore the cutting-edge world of photobiomodulation (PBM) and its potential to transform the landscape of neurodegenerative disease treatment. This episode features an in-depth interview with Liam Pingree, CEO of Neuronic, we dive into the science behind PBM and the innovative Neuradiant 1070 device. Building on our discussion from last year, we'll uncover how this non-invasive therapy leverages red and near-infrared light to enhance brain health, with a focus on conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Photobiomodulation, often called low-level laser or red light therapy, is gaining traction as a promising approach to tackle the mitochondrial dysfunction and inflammation that drive neurodegenerative diseases. Today, we'll hear from Liam about how the Neuradiant 1070, with its unique 1070 nm wavelength, aims to penetrate deeper into the brain, offering hope for symptom relief and possibly slowing disease progression. We'll also spotlight the contributions of key researchers, including Professor Paul Chazot, whose work on neuroinflammation ties into this field, alongside pioneers like Michael R. Hamblin driving PBM research forward. Join us as we break down the device's features, clinical applications, and real-world user experiences, all while peering into the future of PBM as a potential standard in brain health care. Whether you're a science enthusiast, a caregiver, or someone curious about innovative therapies, this episode offers a compelling look at how light might just shine a new path forward for neurodegenerative challenges. Let's dive in! What You'll Learn in This Episode: The Science of Photobiomodulation (PBM): Understand how PBM uses red and near-infrared light to boost mitochondrial function, reduce inflammation, and promote neurogenesis, with insights into its relevance for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The Neuradiant 1070 Device: Explore the specifics of this home-use PBM device, including the significance of its 1070 nm wavelength for brain penetration and its quadrant control system for targeted treatment. Key Research Contributions: Learn about the work of leading researchers like Michael R. Hamblin, John Mitrofanis, and Paul Chazot, whose studies on PBM and neuroinflammation are shaping the field. Clinical Applications and Future Vision: Discover how the Neuradiant 1070 is being used for neurodegenerative conditions, supported by emerging clinical trials, and hear Liam Pingree's vision for PBM's role in prevention and treatment by 2027.
Here Liam and Will from Neuronic talk about their red light devices, the cognitive benefits and science and why they chose to use 1070 nm red light.
Another episode that is just so full of goodness, you'll wonder how we were able to pack it all into one episode! We go to Salem for this one, specifically the Gardner-Pingree House, which was once owned by Captain Joseph White. White was a a fair bit unsavory due to some of his business practices as a captain, but once he retired, he was murdered by four men who frankly, were not criminal masterminds by any stretch of the imagination. We talk his life, his murder, his murderers and their trial. They even had a special prosecutor, a celebrity lawyer of his time, Daniel Webster. We also talk how the former Captain became a ghost haunting his former home in this little bit spooky, whole lotta true crime historical episode of the Family Plot Podcast! Plus we crammed in a whole lot of love. Trigger Warnings for Suicide and mentions of slavery. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.

Send us a textThe Urgency of Building Resilient Communities Hannah Pingree, Director of the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future and co-chair of the Maine Climate Council, talks about the urgent importance of community action, planning and investments to build resilience to impacts of climate change following the devastating winter storms of December 2023 and January 2024. In response to these storms, Governor Mills proposed and authorized the largest recovery support package in Maine history -- $60 million for working waterfronts, business recovery, and public infrastructure projects -- and launched an expert Infrastructure Rebuilding and Recovery Commission to help develop Maine's first long-term plan for safeguarding Maine communities and people from climate effects like extreme storms, flooding, and storm surge. Hannah will talk about the need for state, regional and local partnerships to address this challenge and efforts underway through her office to support lasting investments in Maine communities, such as through her office's landmark Community Resilience Partnership program, which in two years has grown to include more than 225 Maine cities, towns, and tribal governments.

These week, we used our midwestern sensibilities and traveled to north to the Great Lakes State to taste and try a bourbon that was gifted to us during a recent barrel pick experience. From just north of the Motor City, Valentine Distilling Co. burst onto the scene a few years ago by sourcing some excellent MGP distillate. During that time, they were also barreling their own liquid. Is this juice worth the squeeze? Tune in this week as the fellas take a deep dive on this whiskey while giving an incomplete biography of Detroit's greatest mayor (Old Ping). -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky TW: https://twitter.com/themashupky Partnership Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

There is a lot of confusion over food expiration labels. Is it okay to ignore some but not others? There is no national standard for food expiration dates like that of many other countries. In an effort to standardize food date labels and cut food waste, congressional leaders including Rep. Chellie Pingree (ME) have reintroduced the Food Date Labeling Act. Rep. Pingree joined Dan to discuss.

This week, David, Joe, and Korbin discuss the Angus Underground Facebook Community Forum, and how it is here to provide answers to your burning questions and quench your thirst for new information, all within a welcoming and friendly community. Then, for the first segment, the guys welcome Logan Sampson from Ruby Valley, Nevada to talk about his company, Gene Brokers. Logan talks about how his impulse buying and desire for an open marketplace led to GeneBrokers. He shares the process of going from testing mode to a live site, if GeneBrokers is really like a shopping mall for semen, how the payment process works, along with the nuts and bolts of paying and shipping. Logan talks about the three entities where the semen is stored — the vendor, seller, and shipper, and how customers can use this for their best advantage. In the second segment, Robert Whitacre from Winchester, VA and Lex Carter from Pingree, ID join the show to discuss all things Breeder Link. They talk about how to use the filters to navigate towards what you want, the options for creating a storefront, and exactly what you can (and can't) sell. They walk us through a checklist of what you need to list something and give us a glimpse behind the quality control of listing sires into the program.Mentioned in this Episode:Montana RanchThe Montana Bred for Balance Bull and Female Sale — Call David at 406-210-5605 or send an email to Bulls@MontanaRanchAngus.com if you're searching for semen from balanced trait sires!Rafter 5M Land & CattleBruin RanchFacebook @AngusUndergroundInstagram @AngusUndergroundContact AngusUnderground@Yahoo.com or call 406-210-1366 if you are interested in becoming a sponsor for Angus Underground.Angus Underground Ep. 9: “Angus on Dairy with Eddie Veenendaal”American Angus Association® (AAA)GeneBrokersBreederLinkQuotes:“I'm not going to tell you how to breed your cows, and no one should either.
