Harrison Burton, former NASCAR Cup Series winner at Daytona International Speedway and current NASCAR Xfinity Series driver of the No. 25 for AM Racing, is this week's featured guest on Bringing the Heat With Bryan Nolen. Frontstretch's Dalton Hopkins sits down with Burton to discuss an array of topics. The two take a look back at Burton's 2024 season and then his eventual departure from the Wood Brothers Racing. Nolen is then joined by James Jackson to take a look at the latest news and notes from around the sport, including Burton's appearance in the All-Star Race with Rick Ware Racing. The soundbite of the week is from Carson Hocevar, who took home the win in last week's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway. They discuss if Hocevar's gesture that he made to second-place finisher Layne Riggs as he was crossing the finish line was right or wrong, and how his personality is good for the sport Listen here or wherever you get your podcasts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1E592kvMQc&feature=youtu.be
NASCAR Xfinity and Trucks at Rockingham saw Sammy Smith win after Jesse Love was disqualified, and the appeal was upheld. Katherine Legge gets severe online harassment for an incident and the ripple effects of this towards the fanbase. Tyler Ankrum secured his first win in 4.5 years due to fuel mileage. Rodney Childers leaves Spire shortly after Cheddar Bob. The All-Star Race faced criticism for lacking fan-desired features, and the Championship Weekend will return to Homestead in 2026. Other topics include the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix results, the Sim Racing Enduro at Apex, and an NFL Draft preview. The episode also covers WEC at Imola, WRC Rally Islas Canarias, MotoGP/Moto2 at Jerez, NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, and a NASCAR Cup & Xfinity preview for Talladega including the Tate Fogleman Algorithm. Josh lets us know everything going on in iRacing on the Sim Segment before we call it a show.
In this episode of the Grip Strip Podcast, Austin Cindric wins the NASCAR Cup at Talladega, while Toyotas attempt to race around the half-throttle action. Austin Hill wins for the first time at Dega with a late yellow in XFinity. Cleetus McFarland gets a Top 10 in the ARCA race, which wasn't a total cluster. The announcing was also good since Jamie Little wasn't on the call. Thoughts about the "run what you brung" All-Star Race idea being canned along with Lionel halting die-cast production due to tariffs, but there are definitely other reasons. The podcast also reviews the NFL Draft for our teams and other key players, with the standout being Travis Hunter going to Duval. The GSP Roundup covers WRC Rally Islas Canarias, MotoGP/Moto2 at Jerez, NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at Charlotte, WSBK at Cremona, Formula E Monaco E-Prix, Indy NXT at Barber, F1 Academy at Miami. The guys preview and make picks for the F1 Grand Prix of Miami Preview, IndyCar at Barber, and NASCAR Tripleheader at Texas. Josh in the Sim Segment lets us know the information about iRacing and gaming before we close the show.
Phil and Josh return for E267 of the GSP to provide their usual unfiltered commentary on the motorsports events of the past week. At Barber, Hello Palou returned to his dominant position with a win from pole. The guys discussed the fully green flag event, standout performers behind the champ, and the points heading to the Indy Road Course. Anytime motorsports take place at Texas Motor Speedway, expect Phil and Josh to let you know their thoughts. In this case, why any racing takes place at that dump. Like certain people's facilities, this track is godawful and shouldn't have any part in determining champions in any series outside the Bass masters. Three pseudo demolition derbies took place across the major NASCAR series, with Joey Logano, Kyle Larson (subbing for Connor Zilisch) and Corey Heim win in Cup, XFinity and Trucks. Formula 1 raced at the Dolphins' stadium parking lot Grand Prix after announcing a 16-year extension for nobodies benefit. The most compelling race of the weekend was the drivers doing a parade lap in full size Lego cars. In the sprint race, Lewis Hamilton was a Fred Alonso crash away from possibly taking his second sprint victory due to the variable conditions. In the actual race, Oscar Piastri proved once again why he is the measure to fight versus Fish Lips and look to earn McLaren their first driver's title since Hamilton in 2008. Phil discusses the ApexOne GT3 sim league on Assetto Corsa Competitizione and his breakdowns of the splits plus his chances (or lack thereof). The guys discuss Homestead being announced as the finale for the 2026 NASCAR season, which is a welcome relief for numerous NASCAR fans. They will rotate the race among multiple warmer weather sites, so Las Vegas could finally be an option. The GSP Roundup covers F1 Academy, Indy NXT, Formula E, WSBK, IMSA, WEC, MotoGP/Moto2, and Supercars before the race previews and picks for IndyCar at the Indy Road Course plus NASCAR Cup and Trucks at Kansas. Josh previews his opportunity to become a two-time iRacing Indy 500 champ in the Sim Segment along with everything else going on this month as a lead up to the Greatest Day in Motorsports.

Finally back after taking a week to recover from being down with the sickness. We are back to catch you up on Bristol, Bahrain, Palm Beach, and Tony Stewart's first Top Fuel national win! We talk all about the Xfinity and Truck race from last weekend at Rockingham. We review the F1 race from Saudi Arabia, and IndyCar from Palm Beach. After Rory McIlroy dramatically became the sixth golfer in the modern history of the game to win the career Grand Slam at The Masters, Phil and Josh return to discuss this momentous occassion and everything that went on in the world of motorsports. Kyle Kirkwood added his name to the illustrious history at Long Beach, becoming a two-time winner of the event after winning pole for both races. Alex Palou's early season winning streak was ended, but he still had a strong finish. Multiple pit strategies and a completely green flag race made it interesting, while Penske's performance definitely was not Penske Perfect. Kyle Larson dominated 2/3 of the weekend at Bristol, winning the Cup and XFinity races. Yung Money ended up 2nd behind Chandler Smith in the Truck Series event. Rajah Carruth and Martinsville winner Daniel Hemric both had solid days along with the Niece duo. Oscar Piastri inserted himself into the title discussion with a dominant weekend at Bahrain, culminating in a win from pole. The McLaren driver held off Woody Russell and teammate Lando Norris to take the top step. Fish Lips was nowhere the entire weekend while Ferrari had mixed fortunes. Phil is competing as an Am in the ApexOne GT3 Endurance race at Catalunya, so he gives his thoughts on ACC and his feelings going into the event. Can Phil come through with a victory? Someone who many thought would have a victory at Augusta long before Sunday was Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman made it unnecessarily interesting throughout the final round, but held on in the first hole of the playoff to make history. Phil was focused on the Masters because it has always been his favorite golf tournament of the year, while Rory's win also was a happy result. The GSP Roundup covered F2/F3/F1 Academy, IMSA, MotoGP/Moto2, Supercars, Formula E, WSBK, WEC and Anthony Wayne Stewart's first career Top Fuel win at Las Vegas in the Four Wide Nationals, with Austin Prock (Funny Car) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) taking the Wally's in their respective classes. Phil and Josh preview the Rockingham return for XFinity and Trucks and make picks along with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Formula One race before Josh's Sim Segment and Show Close.

The NASCAR Cup Series had last weekend off, but the Truck Series and Xfinity Series were busy down in Rockingham, N.C. Rod Mullins joined me on our weekly NASCAR podcast to hit the highlights from the weekend, focusing on the DQ of apparent Xfinity winner Jesse Love that gave the victory to Sammy Smith, and the threats from fans that have derailed the week of Katherine Legge following a late-race crash.

The Chain Gang loaded up and traveled to the Rock to see NASCAR make its return to the track and boy were we glad we did! It may have new pavement but the racing action was still uniquely Rockingham as cars sped through the 22 degree banking and drove right on the edge of spinning out as they searched for speed.

On this week's episode of Rubbin' is Racing, we get a chance to chat with Xfinity Cup driver Brandon Jones following his big win over the weekend in Darlington. Spider, Large, Quigs, and Moonhead also discuss the hottest headlines in NASCAR and preview the upcoming weekend of racing in Bristol. Thanks for listening!
19-year-old phenom and current Hendrick Motorsports driver Corey Day joins Davey Segal (8:55) to discuss his transition from dirt to asphalt and adjustment to stock cars. They also discuss how he's preparing for Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend, going back somewhere for a second time, how the Truck and Xfinity car differ, leaning on crew chiefs Brian Pattie and Adam Wall for advice and the clear distinction that's been made of him being a HMS driver - NOT a development driver. Day also dives into how Jeff Gordon recruited him to Hendrick and the funny story that resulted in Gordon having to prove it was actually him on the other end of their text conversation, how he's keeping his new busy schedule straight, why live pit stops and racing as a profession have been extra difficult to adjust to and his beginnings on two wheels and transition to dirt in California. Plus, how he deals with being heralded as a "generational talent" and "phenom" of sorts, why he loves the haters writing him off, how it feels to have the support and belief from Kyle Larson, Gordon and other racing legends, what his goals are for the rest of this year and more, including why he's such a Taco Bell lover. Papa Segal also pays homage to the late Eddie Jordan and Davey recaps Darlington while looking ahead to Bristol.

Championship winning crew chief Jonathan Toney joins Davey Segal (6:42) for an insightful and feel-good conversation that spans over two decades with one single team. Toney explains how working with Sheldon Creed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series really isn't too different so far than it was working with Cole Custer, the rash of runner-up finishes Creed has scored, team chemistry at Haas Factory Team in this new iteration of the organization and more. Toney also dives into all the change the team has seen over his time, from Haas CNC Racing to Stewart-Haas Racing and now HFT. He explains why he's stayed loyal to the company despite numerous offers to go elsewhere over the years, why the Xfinity Series is the right place for him to be as a crew chief right now from a work/life balance perspective, the conversations leading up to 2023 before he finally got his chance to be a crew chief for the first time and how rewarding it was to win a championship with Custer in his first year at the helm. Toney also reminisces on the 2011 title run with Tony Stewart, what it was like to be a part of that team, some memorable tales from Homestead-Miami Speedway on championship weekend and more, including the vibe at the team when Stewart came in at first and his Hickory, North Carolina roots. Davey also recaps the tripleheader weekend of action at Martinsville Speedway and addresses the debacle of an Xfinity race that saw Sammy Smith penalized, previews Darlington Raceway and Papa Segal pays homage to Raymond Parks in this week's wayback segment.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. welcomes NASCAR Truck Series pioneer Jack Sprague to the studio to learn about his humble beginnings in Michigan, and his path to becoming a NASCAR Hall of Fame nominee. After getting his start out of his uncle's junkyard and racing street stocks in Southwest Michigan, Jack found his way into the world of late model racing, eventually taking a job at Port City Racecars. Through the help of his mother and stepfather, Jack made the move to North Carolina and began working with short track fixtures Jay Hedgecock and Rober Hamke while getting his feet planted in the scene. Hamke proved to be a great influence on Jack and taught him about setting up cars and racing technique, leading him to become one of the most successful racers at Concord Speedway and in the Big 10 Series. Later on, Jack became acquainted with Rick Hendrick and became a NASCAR Truck Series regular. His first truck ride came through Pee Wee Griffin, after Gary Balough was incarcerated, and he set out on the 1995 Truck schedule with a shoestring budget. Jack explains how a chance encounter with Hendrick and Tom Cruise at an afternoon test session years before, led to a favor being called in with Hendrick Motorsports to drive the famed 24 Truck. Once in the 24, Jack established one of the most prolific stints in Truck history, winning three championships and 28 races. Dale and Jack discuss his venture into the Xfinity and Cup Series, the struggle of stepping away from the sport, his rivalries over the years and, becoming a Hall of Fame nominee.Dirty Mo Media is launching a new e-commerce merch line!
