Despite insistences from billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) that the facility is safe, these humans find out dinosaurs are not as cuddly as they might appear when they get out following a power failure. The film was groundbreaking for its visual effects – specifically its use of CGI creatures that propelled it to break all records and become the highest-grossing movie of all time (only to be broken a few years later by a sinking ship). Was Michael Crichton ripped off selling the rights for a measly 2 million? Who dated whom after filming? Did Jeff Goldblum succeed in playing Jeff Goldblum?
