Yesterday Joe Benigno called in to Evan and Tiki and got into it with Tiki to the point that Tiki took his headphones off and walked out of the studio. Yesterday Rob Saleh met the media and doubled down on Zach Wilson being the QB. Saleh was asked about adding another QB and Saleh said that's a Joe Douglas question. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with audio of Joe Benigno telling Tiki that he ‘hates the Jets'. Joe also said that he was texting with Saleh for an hour after the game.  Jerry has audio of Saleh meeting the media and doubling down on Zach Wilson. In the final segment of the hour, we wondered if she would be at MetLife Stadium for Jets/Chiefs on Sunday night. Gio thinks that will annoy Jets fans if she's celebrating all night.

In the final segment of the hour, we have crossroads moments for both the Giants and Jets on Sunday and Monday night. Boomer thinks the Jets defensecan handle the Chiefs offense but he's worried about the Giants defense this week against Seattle. The Giants' lack of tackling was alarming.    Hour 3 Boomer said the moment Aaron Rodgers went down, they should have brought in Carson Wentz. Give the ball to Zach Wilson and if he doesn't have it, give the ball to Wentz. You don't have to give anything up to get him and right now he is the best option. He had success at a very high level. Boomer also said Colt McCoy would also be a competent choice and better than Zach. Jerry returns for an update and has audio from Rob Saleh saying how much more improved Zach Wilson is. He also said, ‘you can never be too boring when you have the ball in your hands'. Micah Parsons talked about QB being one of the most difficult positions in the NFL. The Bengals got their first win, beating the Rams 19-16. The Eagles beat the Bucs 25-11. In the final segment of the hour, OJ Simpson has also come out against Zach Wilson because it's affecting his fantasy team WR, Garrett Wilson.    Hour 4 Gio compares Boomer's night last night being honored by the Bengals, and compares it to where Zach Wilson is right now in his career. We are on the verge of having both local NFL teams be irrelevant by October 3rd. This is actually a must win for the Giants this week. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and has audio from Matt Ryan saying he has no interest in playing for the Jets. Mike and the Maddog loved Zach Wilson before the draft and Jerry has the audio. Maddog isn't interested in Taylor Swift even if she's ‘nude in the box'. The Bengals got their first win of the season by beating the Rams 19-16. The Eagles improved to 3-0 by beating the Bucs 25-11. The Moment of The Day involves Joe Benigno vs Tiki Barber with old drops of Joe B yelling at Boomer. In the final segment of the show, the cast of the Jersey Shore was at the Jets game. LaPhonso Ellis is a former NBA player who was selected fifth overall in the first round of the 1992 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He would play 11 seasons with Denver, Atlanta, Minnesota and Miami. In his first NBA season, he was named to the 1992-93 All-Rookie First Team.  The Notre Dame graduate had a stellar career in South Bend and was named to Notre Dame's Ring of Honor in 2021. After retirement from playing basketball, Ellis joined ESPN in 2009 and was a college basketball commentator and analyst until June of 2023.  Today on the podcast, we talk to LaPhonso Ellis about living his life for Christ and growing spiritually after becoming a believer early in his NBA career. The Lakers have many, many Hall of Fame players. And now they have one more. Pau Gasol entered the Naismith Basketball HOF over the weekend, and did so in typical Gasol fashion - meaning with class and grace, honoring his family and teammates and, of course, Kobe Bryant. Gasol isn't in the Hall because he is a tremendous person, but it's hard not to focus on that. He is as well-respected a player and person as you'll find in this industry. There are players who have excellent public reputations where, off the record, players/coaches/media/team personnel will roll their eyes or flat out contradict the public image. That doesn't happen with Gasol. Moreover, he's taken the burden—and it is that—of being a leading voice to carry on the legacy of Kobe. Talking about him, honoring him, and so on, in ways and in moments where doing so diverts attention to the quality of player he was. And he was truly outstanding. But Gasol gives up some of that shine and undivided attention in service of something he believes is more important, and to honor his friend. But a reminder, Gasol is in the HOF because he was a stunningly good player, with a multitude of skills and a hoops IQ that was truly off the charts. Meanwhile, whenever a Laker makes the Hall of Fame, it points attention to the fact that the team doesn't have any level of honor below jersey retirement, which requires admission to the HOF. Meaning a ton of excellent players, from Michael Cooper, Byron Scott and Norm Nixon on down, don't have any sort of formal honorary. So let's say the Lakers had one of those... who would get in?
