To continue "Dead Boy Summer," Aaron and Derek are joined by James Scott, Drake Cummings, and Devin Muller of Film History The History Of Film podcast to discuss 1978 mall zombie horror film "Dawn of the Dead" written, directed, and edited by George A. Romero. They discuss how Romero got access to the mall, the low budget nature of the production, and Dario Argento's cut. They also tackle whether or not the movie is inconsistent from a serious horror and comedy standpoint, what makes the setting so endearing, the political and social commentary, among many other aspects of the movie. Our good bud Drake Cummings was itching to talk about the grounded, funny and harrowing Oakland-centric film, "Blindspotting"! We discuss how a film by, and about, two friends can make you laugh, cry and feel more vulnerable than you may be comfortable with. Follow Drake Cummings on Instagram and Twitter! What are you into? This week, we chat with our pal Drake Cummings from The People's Collective and he shares his love for SEGA's long-running game series "Yakuza"! Tauri Jay is chill for Hulu's "Shrill" and Lex Michael gets hip for Mondo's vinyl release of the Buffy "Once More with Feeling" OST. Enjoy! Follow Drake Cummings on Instagram and Twitter! Nightswarm, FilterChord, and special guest Drake Cummings join to talk about the latest game news, catching up on our backlogs of games, and of course the latest blockbuster, Marvel's Spider-man. We also chat about the latest Nintendo Direct and a bit about the Tokyo Game Show.
Buckle up, this is gonna be a big one. We finish off our big week of E3 chatter with Drake Cummings (who attended the show). We also try to get back into the normal flow by talking about the latest games and news. This episode is about 4 hours so I hope you're on a road-trip.
Not a lot of new releases this week (just two Switch ports), but some interesting news followed up by a recap of 2017. Hosts FilterChord and Drake Cummings.
In this episode we got the chance to sit down with Drake Cummings (who you may remember from a previous episode) and talk about his time on the E3 show floor! We got to hear about all the normal big-budget AAA game releases as well as some of the smaller stuff that Drake got to check out. I said I'd add some games to the show notes in the cast, and those games are: The Big Journey by CiVEL Games, and Stifled by Gattai Games. Also, FilterChord had an issue with recording so there's a little explanation in there to account for that. Hosts: Nightswarm (James Weitzel), FilterChord (Austin Jones), and Drake Cummings from Dive
This week we've had a bit of a shake up, so I took the opportunity to interview and introduce one of my gaming buddies, Drake. Our conversation meandered quite a bit, but we talked a bit about the game industry in general, E3 predictions, and a bunch of other random topics. Be sure to check out Drake's new Youtube page, Dive, where he does deep dives into game topics, companies, and specific games. Hosts: Austin Jones (FilterChord) and guest host Drake Cummings (@Drake_Cummings on Twitter). Dive: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRYTkcIo7YPIXEFePtkb1Cg
