It's October, so 2025's Season of Spoop begins! This year the theme is "high school horror." To start off this year's series, Nate and Tyler (hosts of the Hate Speech Podcast, The Bruce Campbell Podcast and Animorphing Time Podcast) return to discuss 1998's science fiction horror film "The Faculty" directed by Robert Rodriguez with a screenplay by Kevin Williamson. They talk about what makes high school scary, the supreme late-90s nostalgia in this movie, and whether or not it still holds up. They also get into Kevin Williamson's writing, all the obvious horror movie references, what seems problematic under a modern lens, and many other aspects of the flick. Nate, Tyler, Derek and Aaron aren't aliens, they're discontent. Ever since we saw The Cell (2000), its wild and disturbing visuals have been stuck in our heads. So we decided it was time for a deep dive to really explain what makes this movie so uniquely terrifying and brilliant. In this episode of The Cinema Psychos Show, Brian and special guest Jordan The Grey Witch give their full reaction and review. We'll break down Tarsem Singh's insane direction, Vincent D'Onofrio's chilling performance, and why Jennifer Lopez's role was such a big moment for her. Think of this as our ultimate movie recap for one of the most visually stunning horror films of the 2000s. Here's some of what we get into: Our genuine reaction to the most messed-up scenes (you know the ones). How the costume design connects to Bram Stoker's Dracula. Why we think it's like "The Matrix in reverse for grown-ups." Analyzing the serial killer's psyche and the film's surprising depth. Our final verdict on whether this 2000 cult classic holds up. Jeff was shown that what humans understand about spirituality, life after death, dimensions, God, thesoul, and psychic powers, are just the beginning of what the Greys are all about. And that their capacity, understanding, and utilization of these is much greater than humans can imagine. It's a Ye Olde crossover! Lindsay Valenty, host of ye Olde Crime Podcast, takes a brief respite from the world of historical true crime to visit the wonderful world of Amish fairy-tale retellings! She joins Becky to review “Amish Red Riding Hood” by Ashley Emma ($0.99). Book: Amish Red Riding Hood Podcast: Ye Olde Crime Podcast (Check out Becky on Can You Guess the Cramp Word) Episode Sponsor: SmartLabels. Take the stress out of tracking inventory with QR code labels! Once upon a time, a woman named Scarlett was ostracized from her Amish community for being the girl who cried wolf, or more specifically, coyote. Years ago, no one believed her when she witnessed her father killed by a coyote in the woods of Unity, ME. However, when the predatory beast returns Scarlett will stop at nothing to make sure this threat is taken care of. But this time, she has someone on her side – the handsome widower next door, Jacob. So when Jacob, more or less, is like, “Scarlett, what great fearlessness you have,” she's all, “The better to get vengeance with.” And soon Scarlett's story of redemption may just end with happily ever after. Hi Everyone! I'm baaaack! After 6 challenging months (almost a year tbh) filled with health struggles, medical PTSD, and 3 major surgeries, I'm finally back behind the mic. In this episode, I open up about my journey-what I've learned, how I've healed (and still am) and why it's so important to speak up and advocate for your health. I'm beyond grateful for your patience, support, and for tuning into the Allstart Episodes while I was away. If you've ever faced medical trauma, felt unheard, or needed the reminder that you're not alone-you won't want to miss this one. #healthstrugglespodcast #overcomingmedicalptsd #patientadvocacystories #resilience #healingjourney #lifecoachmaureen #ineverknewbutmydogdidpodcastBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-never-knew-ink-but-my-dog-did-by-lifecoach-maureen--5602763/support.
