Sonalie Figueiras began her Green Queen media journey 10 years ago in Hong Kong to fill a much needed void- Eco-Wellness; bringing health and wellness together in harmony with the planet. Green Queen is now the largest eco-wellness impact media platform in Asia-winning awards on the way. In Part 2 of our 2 part interview, Sonalie and I dig deeper into their mission at Green Queen. Sonalie does not believe we can solve our climate problems with technology alone. She does not think we should leave our future in the hands of "tech, finance or industry titans!" Sonalie also makes a very strong point regarding the need for governments to get onboard with more regulation on climate change, less or even zero subsidies for the meat and fishing industries and to stop placing all the responsibility on the consumer! We discuss some of the biggest points illustrated in Seaspiracy and how many of the topics in this documentary, they have been writing about for over 10 years. Enjoy Part II of our interview episode, as we address questions that you could possibly be asked in an interview (and what the correct (????) answers are). If you have more questions about interviews, or life in general, you can DM us on Instagram @baptismbychoir. In this episode, we failed to always use the correct terminology for Soprano/Alto and Tenor/Bass Choirs. We would like to state that we love and support our students who fall everywhere along the gender spectrum, and we are actively unlearning our learned experiences of our binary choir pasts.
Enjoy Part II of this three-part series of "speed interviews" of stories of sobriety. In today's episode, Chelsea interviews two men with two different addictions. Her first guest, Mark, has been a trial lawyer in Chicago for 22 years, first as a prosecutor, then moving on to investigate police-involved shootings and allegations of excessive force committed by Chicago Police officers. After a number of positions in the last three years, he has been a criminal defense and family law attorney for nearly a year. He is married with three children. And he is a virtual life-long addict who bravely shares his compelling story about his journey of sex, fantasy, and secrecy addiction. Chelsea's second guest is Robert, who from a very young age became addicted to alcohol as a result of trying to compensate for the lack of friendships he had with people his own age. Robert has been sober since 5/27/2006. He is a below-knee amputee (6/15/2017) and a competitive powerlifter. He loves spending all his free time with the family and their dog and cats along with traveling. Both guests are motivated not only to bring awareness to addiction but help shape and maybe change our perspective of people who struggle with addiction. ---- Something you'd like to share? Welcome to episode 24 where we continue the conversation with John Woolf. This is a great dive into HOW YOU the Provider need to better understand YOURSELF before you can ever truly help others. This episode SHOULD make you uncomfortable and make YOU question WHAT you need to do to best help your patients. John’s share of his conversation on how to have a conversation with a patient that requests something that “the evidence doesn’t prove” is PURE GOLD!!...It’s about COMMUNICATION, CONVERSATION, and LISTENING…. What I like to call the Hard Shit!! We talk about WHY taking a “Pain Science” Class and learning the BioPsychoSocial Approach is useless without first UNDERSTANDING yourself….. We then move to how this training and how these skills are incorporated into the Patient Experience and HOW you bring it into the first phone call and all the steps up to the patient meeting their Provider. As John says, “We’re trained better to feel with our hands than to feel our own feelings”….
