Enola G. Aird is an activist mother. A former corporate lawyer. She was born in the Republic of Panama, of Caribbean heritage, and attributes much of her vision and passion for the movement for emotional emancipation to stories passed down in her family about her great-grandfather, Samuel Alleyne, a loyal follower of Marcus Garvey. Enola shares the framework of the Emotional Emancipation Circles (EE Circles, EECs) are evidence-informed, psychologically sound, culturally grounded, and community-defined self-help support groups designed to help heal, and end, the trauma caused by the root cause of anti-Black racism: the centuries-old lie of White superiority and Black inferiority. Emotional Emancipation Circles – Community Healing Network Interruptions: Disrupting The Silence | Facebook Interruption Disrupt Silence - YouTube

Enola G. Aird, Founder and President of the Community Healing Network (CHN), joins us in this second episode of Breathe, Baby, Breathe: The Fresh Air of African Values. From the origins of CHN to the final vision of a world where Black people have moved from surviving to thriving, we embark on a wonderful and deep conversation regarding the racially-charged times that surrounds us in 2020 as well as the steps Black people must take to move forward and reclaim their rightful place in the circle of humanity. The work of emotional emancipation from the lie of White superiority and Black inferiority is essential for non-Black people as well. As Enola asks, "Who will welcome us back into the circle of humanity?"

Ms. Enola G. Aird, Esq. returns to The Context of White Supremacy. Aird is a lawyer, an activist mother, and the founder and director of Mothers for a Human Future (MHF), a nonprofit initiative working to preserve our humanity in the face of forces that are pushing us toward what has been called the â??post-humanâ??. We previously discussed her long record of service "To celebrate healing in the Black community and to mobilize Black people to overcome the lie of Black inferiority and the emotional legacies of enslavement and racism so that we can all reach our full potential." We'll get her thoughts on the suspicious deaths of black citizens in police custody as well as the trauma of watching the perpetual abuse of black people.
