Clipless vs. flat pedals is a hotly debated topic in the mountain bike world, but now there's a third choice — Hustle Labs' Avery magnetic pedals. We were, frankly, a bit skeptical about this new in-between option, but we've had three reviewers spending time on the Avery, and they've wildly exceeded our expectations. So we sat down with Hustle's Design Engineer, Tripp Hurt, to talk about where the concept originated; how the pedals work; who they are (and aren't) for; what's next from Hustle; and a whole lot more.TOPICS & TIMES:Origin story & Craig's “ecliffany” (2:14)Avery pedal design (4:36)Weight & Who are they for? What sequence of events led Hong Kong to lose its long-held status as a liberal enclave of China? What drove its population to rise up against its government and confront Beijing? And why did China's rulers decide to effectively put an end to the freedoms guaranteed under the One-Country-Two-Systems arrangement by imposing in June 2020 a draconian National Security Law designed to eliminate any political opposition that has already led to hundreds of arrests? In Defying the Dragon: Hong Kong and the World's Largest Dictatorship (Hurst, 2021), the prominent Hong Kong journalist and broadcaster Stephen Vines offers a blow-by-blow account of the 2019-2020 protest movement. The books details the emergence of an increasingly assertive and defiant Hong Kong political identity, the collapse of trust in the Beijing-anointed government, the PRC's increasingly hands-on assertion of its sovereignty over the territory, and the deteriorating relationship between the West and an overly confident but inwardly insecure Chinese state. Nicholas Bequelin is a human rights professional with a PhD in history and a scholarly bent. He has worked about 20 years for Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, most recently as Regional director for Asia. He's currently a Visiting Scholar and Lecturer at Yale Law School. You may remember my popular first meeting from a few years ago with Paul Black of WCM, then a $25 billion asset manager in Laguna Beach, CA. Since then, WCM has gone up and to the right in every way, they sold a minority piece of the business to Natixis, continue to put big numbers on the board, and have grown to north of $66 billion, defying the fade of active management outflows. My guest on today's show is Mike Trigg, a partner and portfolio manager of WCM's Focused International Growth strategy that comprises the majority of the firm's assets. We discuss Mike's background, arrival at WCM in 2005, near implosion of the firm shortly thereafter, and the rising of the international strategy from those ashes. We then dive in deeper to the core tenants of WCM's approach, discussing how the firm analyzes widening moats and cultures tied to competitive advantage. Lastly, we talk about how WCM's growth has impacted the firm. Learn More Follow Ted on Twitter at @tseides or LinkedIn Subscribe to the mailing list Access Transcript with Premium Membership

This faction of the right is a death cult." Next, we turn to the three appellate judges who heard arguments on Tuesday about whether Donald Trump can withhold White House records from the select committee investigating Jan. 6. It is no surprise that the panel of judges appeared skeptical of Trump's case. Then, Joy and her panel analyze the Supreme Court being set to hear arguments from the state of Mississippi, which is outright asking the court to overturn Roe v. Wade. This could spell the beginning of the end of Americans' constitutional right to an abortion. Finally, in "The Absolute Worst," Joy says, "I think we should buy these books even more and give them as gifts," in response to those attempting to ban books that teach the truth about American history, the Civil Rights Movement, and more. These topics and much more are analyzed by Joy Reid and her guests in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.

Tim Keller casts a vision for a Christian community marked by the early church's ethical commitments, which don't easily fit into modern categories of “liberal” or “conservative”. Guest Sam Allberry explores how even though Christianity's sexual ethic seems like a challenge to both the church and broader culture, it holds fundamental good for our benefit and affirms our self-worth. Then, Efrem Smith discusses the obstacles to creating multi-ethnic ministry, the importance of different cultures of Christians interacting with each other, and how the church can attain a biblical view of justice rather than views given to us by cultural rhetoric.
