On this week's episode of Eight One Sixty on 90.9 The Bridge, we dive into KC hip hop. We’ll hear brand new and recent releases from these acts: STEDDY P., Kadesh Flow, Duncan Burnett, They Call Me Sauce, Heartfelt Anarchy, Kemet Coleman, Eems, BLKFLANL and some new jazz from the one of the best horn guys around, Hermon Mehari. Chris also sits down with Steddy P, who has been part of KC's hip hop scene for nearly two decades. In addition to creating his own impressive catalog, in 2006 he started the IndyGround record label and has released music for acts from KC and beyond. As these are historic times, Steddy P. will talk to us about the ongoing protests here in KC and in Columbia, MO. He’ll also talk with us about what white allies and supporters can do to help — what we can sign or donate to help make a difference. Chris asked each musician to send a song from their catalog that fit into the mission of this week's show, and a few sentence on the story behind the song.

Today's episode is a real doozey. Our old friend Farout returns to airwaves, bringing along with him his tourmate of the moment, Coolzey. We recorded this bad bish a while ago, but you're just getting it now because thats the way things go. My sincere apologies to Farout and Coolzey for not being timely. Coolzey specifically plugs a bunch of shows for the end of April, so thats fun to hear in June. As a new guest, Coolzey was given the reigns on what we'd be jammin' and to my delight he picked the Butthole Surfers. We discuss the history of the band and what made them such freaks. (Hint: drugs played a heavy role.) At this point the Goldschläger and weed were really flowing, so to keep things going we play everything from Britney Spears to the Angry Samoans. The conversation gets loose and butt stuff inevitably comes up, natch. Good fun! I guess that's it. Oh yeah, subscribe to the show why don'tcha? If you use the podcast app on your iphone, give the show a 5 star review cause it makes me feel good on the inside. Thank you for being a friend. Find more Farout on twitter at @FaroutRhymes or faroutrhymes.com, Farout.Bandcamp.com and indyground.com. Find more Coolzey on twitter at @capitalrapital or coolzey.net. Send up a smoke signal and gather your heady friends; it's an all new episode of Jam Sandwich! Today I'm joined by Indyground artist Farout, who also just so happens to be an old friend of our producer, Dan Friesen. We literally met minutes before recording the show, but through our mutual love of the devil's lettuce and solid funk jams, we were shooting the shit like old friends in no time. On this episode we spin George Clinton's Computer Games and guzzle a ton of beer I stole from my dad. Put it in, leave it in and chug something cold cause now is the time to get choogled!!
I sat down with rapper, entrepreneur, founder of Indyground & co-owner of The Loop KC to talk buisness, advice for up and comers and way more. Also joined by Roommate Chris aka Don Hancho.
