Cancer now affects 30% to 50% of Americans, a massive increase from just 5% in 1900, reflecting how modern diets and lifestyles have reshaped your body's internal terrain Excess linoleic acid (LA) from seed oils triggers toxic byproducts, chronic inflammation, and mitochondrial breakdown, all of which weaken your body's defenses and fuel tumor growth Lowering LA intake from 7% to around 2% to 3% of daily calories has been shown to cut oxidative stress markers by 20% in as little as 12 weeks, giving your body a chance to recover A four-phase terrain restoration strategy uses seed oil elimination, staged carbohydrate reintroduction, gradual fiber restoration, and metabolic supports like intermittent fasting and exercise to rebuild resilience Simple daily steps — avoiding seed oils, rebuilding gut health, supporting mitochondria through movement and sleep, and tracking progress — give you control over your risk and long-term health

Send us a textToday's Acid Breath is a descent into the machinery behind the market's tremor. Tariffs ignite, rare earths reveal their dirty chemistry, and America's clean hands look suspiciously like Walter White's gloves. Are we about to Break Bad?I pack away a shadow CPI masquerading as today's real deal, a half-billion hit at Jefferies that smells of 2007 teen spirit, and a twenty-billion tango with Argentina that echoes the Tequila bailout. The dollar doesn't only price the world, sometimes it sponsors it. Sometimes it risks failure seeking meaning. Two mountains, one mining atoms, one guarding files, frame the West's quiet wokish bargains. Send us a textDay eight of the shutdown, no data, no scoreboard, just thunder over St Barts and my voice in the dark. The Philly Fed whispers life and the Fed's month-old minutes somehow steal the show: dovish, nervous, and oddly triumphant. I talk about Stephen Miran's population shocks: millions arriving, then vanishing, the beat that moves jobs and rents faster than the Fed can blink. I take you from Malta to Tokyo, from tariffs to the Kobayashi test, asking why America leads, Japan staggers, and everyone else watches the credits roll. It's macro as theatre, humour, and confession. Objective of Acid BreathTo turn every trading day into a human story. Send us a textAcid Breath - Kobayashi Test - 7 October 2025Government shut, data feed dead, and the market is whispering its sins. I open today's Acid Breath by reading price as confession, not scripture. Regional banks are mating for survival as Fifth Third reaches for Comerica, a fear of dying small dressed up as synergy. A trillion dollars threatens to seep from emerging world vaults into dollar stablecoins, sovereign power seeping through circuitry, not warships. Stellantis vows 10 billion to resurrect itself. Fools. This is a suicide pact with a countdown clock. Then Japan takes center stage, a forty percent yen slide and a Nikkei that feels like a séance, the no win Kobayashi test for policy where every choice bleeds. Dots connect to form a melt up that flatters before it flays, with crypto and gold crowned as strange refuges when trust itself is scarce. This is provocation, not permission, a field guide to Tuesday's hangover and tomorrow's reckoning. Listen in, breathe deep, send me your heresies.Acid Capitalist™

“Seishin” is a focused, four-track EP from Fukushima-born, Berlin-based producer Shingo Suwa on Acid Camp. The title translates to “spirit,” and the record treats that idea as both a feeling and a relay: an original transmission from a time of quarantined isolation followed by responses from trusted collaborators. Clay Wilson contributes two versions: one a deep, tensile workout and the other a companion take sparked by the legacy of Jasen Loveland (1980–2021). Jasen Loveland also worked on a remix of his own in 2021. “Seishin” is not only about losing yourself—it is also about the resonance of spirit and memory, passed across friends, to find yourself again. “Seishin” arrives as a 12” EP in an edition of 100 on white/clear marble and 200 on black vinyl. The digital release includes a bonus remix from Remote Perception, another alias of Jasen Loveland. Even after the tremendous success of her cookbook, “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” and the Netflix series it inspired, Samin Nosrat found that, she was lonely and depressed. What grounded her, and helped her claw back the joy in her life, was regularly cooking and eating with friends and committing to community – one “lazy sugo” at a time . We talk to Nosrat about her journey and her new book, “Good Things: Recipes and Rituals to Share with People You Love.” Guests: Samin Nosrat, chef and author of "Good Things: Recipes and Rituals to Share with People You Love: A Cookbook"; her previous book is the bestseller "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat" Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Critics at Large, Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz share their personal experiences making dishes from “Good Things.” Then, New Yorker staff writer Helen Rosner joins them to explain the state of home cooking today, from the rise of culinary influencers and the New York Times Cooking app to the aspirational dimension of what's on offer. “Not only is cooking supposed to be part of a life, but, specifically, it can be a part of the life of the mind,” Cunningham says. “Your choices in the kitchen can be deeply connected to your desires outside of the kitchen.”Read, watch, and cook with the critics:“Tender at the Bone,” by Ruth Reichl“Heartburn,” by Nora Ephron“Good Things,” by Samin Nosrat“Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat,” by Samin Nosrat“The Joylessness of Cooking,” by Helen Rosner (The New Yorker)“All-Consuming,” by Ruby Tandoh@wishbonekitchen“Jerusalem,” by Yotam Ottolenghi“Ottolenghi Simple,” by Yotam Ottolenghi“Dining In,” by Alison Roman“Nothing Fancy,” by Alison Roman“Alison Roman Cooks Thanksgiving in a (Very) Small Kitchen” (The New York Times)“Let's Party,” by Dan Pelosi“How to Cook Everything,” by Mark Bittman“Serial Monogamy,” by Nora Ephron (The New Yorker)New episodes drop every Thursday. Samin Nosrat's 2017 debut “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” was a breakout hit in the cooking world — teaching people of all skill levels the building blocks of flavor. Nosrat won a James Beard award and the book was adapted into a Netflix documentary. After her massive success, Nosrat found herself in a low. She was diagnosed with clinical depression, and said the joy she once found with cooking, stopped being attainable. But it was cooking for community, and for her found family, that brought her back. Nosrat's new book focuses on bringing families of all types to the table, and building community through great food. Nosrat recently joined us to talk about her book, and what's inspiring her today. Vinnie just had a consultation with a caller who told him why she decided to try Vinnie's advice. (3:00) Many people are surprised by how much better they feel once the inflammation has subsided. For example, following NSNG® can often help alleviate heartburn, and foods like tomatoes can be reintroduced. (5:00) Anna is cooking up some chicken today and marinating it. (10:00) Acid (like lemon juice), olive oil, and seasoning are all you need for a marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes; however, several hours is best to get the flavors to infuse. Internal temperature of the chicken should be (near the bone) between 165-180 degrees F when finished. Oven temperature for cooking chicken should be 350-400 degrees F. Pork rinds can be used as a coating or "breading" for the chicken. Next, Anna whips up some cheesy broccoli. (41:00) This demo shows how easy it can be to create two main dishes and some sides within minutes. (48:00) You'll be able to join the NSNG® VIP group when it reopens soon! On July 4, 1984, police dogs uncovered a shallow grave in the quiet town of Northport, Long Island. Inside lay the mutilated body of 17-year-old Gary Lauwers—stabbed more than 30 times in a drug-fueled frenzy by his friend Ricky “The Acid King” Kasso. Within days, the story became national news, sparking headlines of Satanic sacrifice and cementing Kasso as the terrifying face of America's 1980s Satanic Panic. But was this really the work of a Satanic cult, or simply the grim fallout of teenage drug abuse, mental illness, and neglect? In this episode of Terrifying & True, we dive deep into the disturbing murder in Aztakea Woods, Ricky Kasso's descent into drugs and occult posturing, and how the media turned one horrific killing into a nationwide moral hysteria. We'll examine:The brutal murder of Gary Lauwers and Kasso's infamous demand, “Say You Love Satan.”How the case fueled the fire of the Satanic Panic sweeping America. The media's sensational claims versus the grim reality of drugs, rage, and tragedy. The trial of Jimmy Troiano and the lasting legacy of the “Acid King” myth. From grave robbing to cult rumors, from teenage rebellion to national paranoia, this is the chilling true story of Ricky Kasso, the Acid King of Northport. We're telling that story tonight.

This is the first solo release by drummer and producer Jason Ganberg of the duo, Deep Dark Blue. Recorded and produced in Yucca Valley and Los Angeles California between 2022-2024. After a lot of transition and change I wanted to write and create some music that encapsulated and wrapped up a certain time in my life. Some of these tracks started with me recording grooves in my practice space on my phone, and some from field recordings taken from trips in Mexico and Colombia. I didn't want to set myself any boundaries stylistically so I let myself write in a free flowing way without judgement, tinkering with synth lines, bass parts, samples and grooves until things clicked for me. These are a collection of my favorite pieces during this process and I hope you enjoy this little journey as much as I did making it. - Jason Ganberg Written and produced by Jason Ganberg Mastered by Matt Parent
Summer, 1984—at the height of the Satanic Panic. Ricky is a motor-mouthed teen who wants proof the Devil is listening. In a moonlit patch of woods, a dare turns into a ritual and a killing. What follows is darker: Ricky props the body in a lawn chair with sunglasses, invites classmates to look, and turns terror into spectacle—boombox hissing, insects buzzing, and bravado curdling into dread as word spreads and the cops close in.This isn't a true-crime retelling; it's a brutal horror story steeped in Acid King folklore—teen cult swagger, drugs, and a swaggering kid convinced he's owed infernal fame. The consequences arrive in handcuffs and, at the end, a quiet, awful moment alone in a jail cell. Listener discretion advised for graphic violence, drug use, and suicide. What Ricky Did on his Summer Vacation by Dan Wilder

Foreigner was part of the official selection at this years Fantasia Festival in Montreal. It was written and directed by Ava Maria Safai and we sat down together over zoom and discussed her film. Foreigner - In the age of low-rise jeans and flip phones, a Persian teen trying to fit in with her new Canadian clique dyes her hair blonde -- and invites a monstrous force into her life.I will be sure to keep everyone posted for its release sometime next year, but until then, enjoy this great episode. Ava was a lot of fun to talk to and we discuss tv and other films as well.Persian Julep – Apricot Rose JulepIngredients1/2 oz honey rose simple syrup**6 large mint leaves2 dashes rose water optional1.5 oz bourbon1/2 oz Giffard's apricot liqueurGarnish: sprig of mint, dried apricots, fresh, organic, food-safe rose petalsInstructionsAdd the simple syrup and rose water to the bottom of a mixing glass. Tear the mint leaves in half and drop them into the syrup. Muddle lightly.Add the apricot liqueur and bourbon. Fill with ice and stir until chilled and well-combined, about 30 seconds.Strain into a julep cup filled with cracked or crushed ice and garnish with a fresh mint sprig and some dried apricots. For the Rose-Honey Simple:Ingredients2 tablespoons dried rose buds1 cup water3/4 cup honeyDirectionsBrew the rose buds in boiling water for 8 minutes like you would a tea (I used my teapot).Strain 1/2 cup of the tea into a glass measuring cup. While still hot, add 3/4 cup honey and stir well to combine.Let cool completely and keep in the fridge. It will keep for a couple of weeks, and a little longer if you add a bit of vodka to it before storing it. You can drink the remaining tea on its own, or make some of it into a rose simple syrup by adding 1/2 cup sugar to it.Persian DelightIngredients60 ml Tanqueray Malacca Gin40 ml Salted Pistachio and Cardamom Orgeat*30 ml Acid-adjusted Orange Juice**10-15 drops Persian Saffron and Persian Rose tincture***2 dashes Angostura orange bitterDirectionsMix all the ingredients (except for the Saffron and Persian Rose Tincture) together and add them to 50 ml 2% milk, let it sit for 24 hours and filter it using cheese cloth. Weigh the final liquid and dilute it with 30% water.Pour drink into a glass and add 10-15 drops of Saffron and Persian Rose Tincture.Garnish with a rose petal, barberry, and/or edible gold leaf. This drink can be scaled up to make many servings at the same time. Just multiply this recipe by as many guests as you are hosting. The time spent resting in milk doesn't change based on volume.*Salted Pistachio and Cardamom Orgeat: Add 100 salted pistachios and 3 cardamom pods to 250 ml hot water in a sealed container and let it sit for 24 hours. Using blender blend it well and run it through cheese cloth. Squeeze the cheese cloth to maximize yield. Weigh the final liquid and add equal amount of sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar.**Acid-adjusted Orange Juice: Add 4g citric acid to every 96g orange juice.***Persian Saffron and Persian Rose Tincture: Combine 100ml of Tanqueray Malacca Gin with two pinches of saffron and one pinch of dehydrated rose petal. (We are saying a pinch because the weight was less than .1g so be sparing with this)I did end up finding another recipe but it is from AI, if you would like to try that one, just DM me and I will send it.Foreigner Drinking GameTake a shot when…She watches her show.Take a sip when…every time the three girls pop up.a white person asks a weird question.Take two shots when…there is lice under her skin.Finish your drink when…she becomes a demon. As always, drink responsibly and with others. Carrie Fisher once dropped acid in the desert with Paul Simon. She did ayahuasca in the Amazon jungle, where she was attacked by a giant snake that may or may not have been real. She did so much cocaine that legendary partyman John Belushi told her to ease up. Her mood swings were such a dramatic part of her personality that she gave them their own names. Rosemary Woodruff Leary, a St. Louis native, was best known during her life as the wife of Harvard psychologist and LSD evangelist Timothy Leary. But a new book highlights Rosemary's unsung role in that movement. Author Susannah Cahalan's “The Acid Queen: The Psychedelic Life and Counterculture Rebellion of Rosemary Woodruff Leary," uses diaries and Rosemary's own writing to explore how she guided the public persona and mythmaking of Timothy Leary — including how Rosemary helped him escape prison to become international fugitives. Cahalan argues that Rosemary was so much more than a side character, but “a pioneer whose unacknowledged sacrifice helped safeguard an underground movement.”
