Glenn begins the show by recapping the Liverpool/Roma matchup and Mohamed Salah’s terrific performance. He breaks down his analysis of Liverpool when Salah is on the pitch versus when he’s off. Glenn also gets into the Bayern Munich/Real Madrid game. Since the World Cup is less than two months away, Glenn asks the public to call in and give their thoughts of which country they will be cheering for, since the United States is out, and what they think the outcome of the tournament will be. Glenn brings up the CONCACAF Champion’s League Final match between Guadalajara and Toronto FC. The Houston Dynamo becomes a topic of discussion and their big match against Minnesota United. Staying with Dynamo news, Luis Gil gets acquired on loan from Querétaro FC, and Glenn gives his opinion on the matter. Soccer Matters’ own Victor Araiza calls in live from Guadalajara, Mexico to talk about the CONCACAF Champion’s League Final where he is in attendance.
Paddy steps on his Dads Canary, Leigh discusses the London marathon, the boys discuss Liverpool/Roma and the merits of Salah as World Player of the Year. This week, one of our favourite actors - David Morrissey - returns to the podbooth to talk to James Dyer (and not Chris Hewitt, as advertised on the pod; there was a scheduling snafu) about his new show, The City And The City, playing Gordon Brown, and more. He also has advice for Chris re: his Tuesday night clash between the Liverpool-Roma game and the Avengers: Infinity War screening. Then, Chris and James are joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara as they discuss which quiet place they'd retreat to in the wake of an attack by nasty sound monsters; chew over the week's movie and TV news; and cast a vaguely shambolic eye over the week's new releases. Do, please, enjoy. Hey, did you know the Call Me By Your Name song hasn't been on the pod for three episodes now? You know the one. "Call me by your name! Call me! Call me! Call me by your name, oh yeah!" That one.
