Mai vendégem Bozsoky Szabolcs Zoltán, erdélyi származású magyar futballedző, testnevelő tanár és sportmenedzsment szakember, aki immár több mint 12 éve Kanadában él és dolgozik a labdarúgás világában. A beszélgetés a Torontói Magyar Fesztiválon, a Hungarofesten készült, ahol Szabolccsal nemcsak a fociról, hanem magyar identitásról, kanadai újrakezdésről, sportkultúráról, közösségről és életútról is beszélgettünk. Szabolcs jelenleg a University of Toronto Mississauga férfi csapatának vezetőedzője, emellett komoly szerepet vállal a kanadai magyar származású fiatal tehetségek támogatásában is. Jozy Altidore joins Jason Longshore at Sogility in Fayetteville, Georgia for a wide-ranging conversation ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Jozy shares what the players are feeling now that the roster is set, why Mauricio Pochettino's "be nasty" message resonates with him, and what it will take for the guys around Christian Pulisic to step up on the biggest stage. He also opens up about the training philosophy behind Sogility, how gamified data-driven sessions are developing creative, confident players from a young age, and why he thinks an MLS salary cap overhaul is overdue. Plus, memories of those 2017 Toronto vs. Atlanta United classics and what made that Toronto side one of the best in league history.
The Fire closed the first half of their season on a high note, getting a hard-fought 2-1 win over visiting Toronto FC. Before getting into that, though, John and Tim get struck with World Cup fever and ask if Poch is even bothering to phone it in with the USMNT. When they actually get down to the game at hand, the hosts find a lot to like from a gritty performance. From Robin Lod's improved form, resulting in the opening goal, to Berhalter making adjustments at half that finally seemed to tighten things up with the 4-4-2, all the way to Djé's strong performance off the bench, John and Tim take a lot of positives from a game that was far from the prettiest game on the pitch in the Fire's last game for a month and a half.
Welcome to First Sip from the Charlotte FC Podcast, our look at Charlotte FC hosting the New England Revolution this Saturday, May 23, at Bank of America Stadium. Last weekend was a massive bounceback win for Charlotte FC who found their scoring boots in a dominant 3-1 thumping of Toronto FC, cleansing the palate after a rough patch and proving how dangerous this attack can be when everything clicks. But in this league, you don't have time to celebrate. The focus immediately shifts to a quick-turnaround rematch and a heavy dose of bad blood. The New England Revolution are coming to town, the exact same squad that handed the Crown a frustrating 1-0 shutout up at Gillette Stadium just three weeks ago. Charlotte FC is hunting for immediate payback on home soil, looking to neutralize Carles Gil, protect the Fortress, and secure vital Eastern Conference points. To help us break down the tactics, rapid rematch, and the keys to locking down a massive three points before this unusually long break for the World Cup before we start MLS play again in late July, we are stepping inside the broadcast booth. We are absolutely thrilled to be joined by a true trailblazer in American sports media, a Fox Sports veteran who has called everything from the World Series and the NFL to making history as the first Latino-born broadcaster to call an NHL game in English—he is MLS on Apple TV Play-by-Play announcer, Francisco X. Rivera!

Before the club game pauses with the World Cup starting in less than a month, certain leagues are heating up over the next few weeks, as most European circuits wind down, while leagues like Major League Soccer are about to hit their halfway point. Speaking of MLS, however, this break could come at a great time for Canada's MLS sides, the Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC and CF Montréal, who are dealing with injuries, dipping form and more. Can the Whitecaps enter the break still in first place in MLS? Will Toronto FC be able to stop a lengthy winless run? Can CF Montréal leap their Canadian Classique rivals after recovering from a slow start? They'll all look to make that happen this weekend. Meanwhile, Canadians continue to shine across the globe - Alex and Ben dive into those CanMNT and CanWNT players who are shining brightest at the moment in ‘Canadians Abroad'. Hosted on Acast. In this episode of The Footy Culture Podcast, we sit down with Canadian youth international Marsel Bibishkov to hear his unbelievable journey from scoring 115 goals in a season, to signing with Juventus, training alongside stars like Weston McKennie, Moise Kean, and Wojciech Szczęsny, and chasing his dream of representing Canada Soccer at the highest level.Marsel opens up about moving from Bulgaria to Canada, being scouted by Toronto FC, leaving for Europe at just 14 years old, surviving the brutal realities of academy football, making his professional debut at 15, the moment Juventus scouts spotted him, and the challenges that followed at York United. This is a raw, inspiring football story about sacrifice, resilience, mental toughness, and what it really takes to make it in the professional game.
Charlotte FC finally got back to winning ways Saturday, taking down Toronto FC 3-1 at the Bank. But before that were two lackluster results – a draw with FC Cincinnati and a lackluster 1-0 loss to NYCFC. This week on the show, Matt, David and Corey spend most of their time breaking down the Toronto match but they don't overlook the issues we saw in the other two matches. Topics include: When things aren't going well, is it Dean Smith (and tactics and lineups) or is it the players? What was different about the Toronto match compared to the previous two? What needs to happen in the summer transfer window? And David compares himself Tim Ream and Ashley Westwood and shares his most recent heat map.--Want to get into our Discord to discuss all the matches this season, get access to the Secret Show and ask us questions for upcoming episodes? James Sharman and Craig Forrest from Footy Prime visit SDH AM to break down Toronto FC's offense with Josh Sargent, the defense with its issues, and Atlanta United on the road for a Saturday matinee
Jon Nelson brings you the best of SDH AM from the week of April 24, 2026. Three conversations worth your time heading into the weekend. First, Craig Forrest and James Charman from Footy Prime join for opposition research ahead of Atlanta United's Saturday matinee at BMO Field. The Toronto FC breakdown covers Josh Sargent's early impact, Daniel Shalloway's emergence as a goal-scoring star, the back line questions Robin Fraser is still working through, and Luca Gavrón's keeper goal that nobody saw coming. Then, Atlanta United director of methodology Javier Pérez drops in on short notice to talk about two years of building the academy and twos from the ground up. He covers the U-16 side's GA Cup championship run, a competitive showing against Valencia CF at U-15, and where he sees the next wave of first-team talent coming from, including Cooper Sanchez as exhibit A. To close, Front Office Sports reporter Margaret Fleming joins to break down the NWSL's announcement of its 18th franchise in Columbus, Ohio. The conversation covers rising expansion fees, how Atlanta's 2028 entry raises the bar for facilities league-wide, venue sizing concerns in Denver and Boston, and why the league might be better served consolidating now rather than continuing to expand. Soccer Down Here covers the beautiful game from a Southern perspective. Find the Morning Espresso newsletter at soccerdownhere.net.

The boys sat down to recap the match against Toronto FC in the six up in Canada. Austin FC was able to put up 3 goals, but unfortunately also conceded 3 to see this game end in a draw, where both teams took a point. B says it was a great point, while H isn't too happy about dropping the win in the final minutes. What do you think? The boys also went over the USOC defeat to Louisville and how things are gonna look for the club moving forward… Is Nico going to survive this season, or will he be let go? To finish off, the boys had a mini debate about whether the Rodos era has been “better” than Reynas and when Austin FC fans had the most fun supporting the team in club history.

FC Cincinnati finally grabbed their first road point of 2026 in a chaotic 1-1 draw with Toronto FC, battling back down a man as Kenji Mboma Dem scored a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer. But the bigger concern remains discipline, with Kévin Denkey sent off in a fourth straight match featuring a red card for FCC. Now, with Neymar rumors swirling and a tough matchup looming against the Chicago Fire, the question is whether FCC can clean things up and build momentum.
FC Cincinnati have started the season with a frustrating road slate, losing their first three away matches of the 2026 season. It doesn't help that they encounter a team they couldn't solve at home, but perhaps that allows for some sort of comeuppance if FCC can figure out Toronto FC. The Boys in Red have capitalized on their first home slate of the season, winning two and drawing one to start at BMO Field. In fact, Toronto is undefeated over their last ten home matches stretching into last season. So how does Cincinnati right their ship? We talk with John, founder and writer for TFC Republic, to get knowledge on how Toronto's offense has been reenergized and if they could find another three points against the Orange & Blue. FC Cincinnati's attack showed real promise, but another four goals conceded in a loss to the New York Red Bulls highlights growing defensive issues that continue to cost them. We break down the tactics, key moments, and bigger questions around whether it's a system or personnel problem, plus club updates and a look ahead to Toronto FC.
The Union's horrid run in 2026 continued Saturday night with a 2–1 loss to Charlotte FC, with the Union's equalizing goal lasting only a minute before Charlotte retook the lead through Wilfried Zaha. The Union's 0–6 start is the worst ever in MLS for a defending Supporters' Shield winner, and they are now three losses away from tying Toronto FC for the worst start in MLS history. Todd and José discuss the latest Philadelphia Union news, including Malik Jakupovic signing a homegrown contract with the club. They also share their thoughts on the match against Charlotte, covering topics such as: What exactly is the Union's best starting XI? How deflating is it to score an equalizer only to give it right back? And how do the Union's newest signings rank? We dive deep into the gritty side of professional soccer transfers in this special extract from the 3four3 podcast. Focusing on Josh Sargent’s high-profile saga—from his refusal to play at Norwich City to force a move, to ultimately joining Toronto FC in MLS—we expose the power dynamics at play. On the latest edition of Caught Offside... Welp, it happened. Earlier this season, Andrew said that Tottenham couldn't break him this year and the club promptly responded by saying "Oh yeah? Watch this." We discuss the current state of Spurs as they now sit just 1 point above the drop with 9 games to play. Could this really happen and where on earth do we point the finger of blame? Then, it's over to Arsenal where the Gunners pad their lead thanks to a pretty dour 1-0 win over Brighton. We share our thoughts on Fabian Hürzeler's post match comments and wonder if Arsenal fans care about how the rest of the league views them. We'll also break down Chelsea's convincing win over Villa, their center circle meet-ups, Phil Foden's poor form and Carrick's first slip up.And finally, we're joined by Apple TV MLS Commentator Evan Weston for a chat on some early season thoughts in MLS. Is Atlanta headed for a repeat of 2025? Is Josh Sargent capable of elevating Toronto FC? And where do things stand between Orlando City and Antoine Griezmann? All that and more on the latest edition of Caught Offside! For even more Caught Offside content, get on over to Caught Offside Plus right now!In our most recent PLUS episode, it's time for "3 Random Questions." Call It What You Want, presented by Zillow. Someone from the great state of New Jersey will be crowned a Copa del Rey champion when Pellegrino Matarazzo's Real Sociedad face Johnny Cardoso and Atlético Madrid in the final! Jimmy Conrad, Charlie Davies, and Tony Meola welcome Spanish soccer expert Phil Kitromilides to break down the all-American showdown, the secret behind Matarazzo's instant impact in San Sebastián, and whether Cardoso's club form can translate to the USMNT. The crew debates expectations for Josh Sargent after his big-money move to Toronto FC - what would success actually look like for both player and club? Then, attention turns to two players making their case for March call-ups: Alex Zendejas and Yunus Musah. We've seen greatness and not-so-greatness over the first two weeks of the season. Perhaps the real test will be against a team FC Cincinnati has managed to best even during their absolute lows. Toronto FC come into town with two difficult losses under their belt, but they need one more road tilt before their home opener. The Reds have managed to clear their books of two difficult contracts, only to pull in Josh Sargent, the American striker Cincinnati had been pursuing in the past. We talk with Jeffrey from the Toronto 'Til I Die podcast to get his thoughts on the second year under head coach Robin Fraser. How does this squad operate under some of the U.S. national team's bigger pieces? And speaking of national teams, how do things look in the Great White North with the World Cup on the horizon?
