After a calamitous defeat to Swansea City before Christmas, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson could not have asked for a better response from his players. Four consecutive wins has lifted the Reds to ninth in the Championship, but crucially, within six points of second place. Are they now genuine contenders for automatic promotion? Iwan and Sam certainly think so.Swansea's steady progress under Vitor Matos continues, although Iwan believes some are "getting carried" away with the improvement, given they've yet to beat anyone above them in the table.Cardiff City remain top of League One, but their lead at the top remains three points despite a fruitful festive period. And Newport County are off the bottom of League Two, giving themselves some welcomed hope into the new year.

Mark Griffiths looks back at a match with a cruel conclusion.
A big statement of intent - that's what Carl, Iwan and Sam made of the three late attacking substitutions made Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy that turned an acceptable away draw into a huge win at title rivals Stevenage. It increased their lead at the top of League One to four points, but also sent a clear message to their rivals on the manager's winning mentality.Swansea City had a super sub of their own as Liam Cullen struck to ensure a second successive home win that silenced talk of a relegation battle... for now. Newport County put a shocking FA Cup display behind them to earn a point at Crewe, giving Iwan new hope they can climb off the bottom of League Two as the hectic Christmas schedule arrives. And after Mo Salah's remarkable outburst against his treatment at Liverpool, Sam recalls his attempts to persuade Sean Dyche he was wrong to drop him to the Burnley bench.
A full review of the Blues' midweek defeat to Swansea City with Jake Smith and Danny Thompson. Then, with the help of rival supporter James Marsh, the duo look ahead to Saturday's clash with Blackburn Rovers at Fratton Park. Northern Ireland and Swansea City's Ethan Galbraith joins Michael to discuss the step up to Championship football, establishing himself as a regular starter for his country, his thoughts on upcoming World Cup qualifying play-off against Italy and tells us about the role Leyton Orient played in re-invigorating his career after leaving Manchester United.Oran Kearney joins us ahead of his first game in charge of Ballymena United. As a former player was it an easy decision to take on the job mid-season or did time served as Coleraine boss make this a difficult decision? He talks about his new coaching staff, Bertnel Thompson retiring, targets, familiar faces in the squad, and having to cancel a ski trip due to the timing of this job coming up. Plus we catch up with Portadown's Eamon Fyfe and learn about the conversation the led to him becoming their main forward, the faith his manager Niall Currie has shown in him and now finding himself in the best goal scoring form of his career.
In the company of Kevin Stokes, Jake Smith talks all things Portsmouth Football Club, including Saturday's abandoned Championship match at The Valley and the Blues' next fixture against Swansea City. John Mousinho's pre-match interview also features alongside the post-match thoughts of Hannah Coan and Jay Sadler following Pompey Women's 1-1 draw with WSL 2 leaders Charlton Athletic at Westleigh Park on Sunday.

It may only be early December, but the message is clear for Swansea City - this is now a relegation fight. And the next two games - at home to fellow strugglers Oxford United and Portsmouth - could define the whole season.Wrexham, meanwhile, are looking upwards after extending their unbeaten run to eight games. Manager Phil Parkinson has now reached 200 league games with The Reds, with a hugely impressive 59.5% win rate. With so many clubs now opting for a head coach rather than a more traditional manager, are the likes of Parkinson becoming a rare breed? Iwan and Sam share their experiences of working under some of the best in the business.Premier League scouts are flocking to Cardiff City to watch Dylan Lawlor, and Rhian Wilkinson can breathe a sigh of relief after claiming a first win for Wales in a tough, yet historically significant, 2025.

The celebrity investor coming into football as part of an ownership group is nothing new these days, but there were more than a few eyebrows raised when it was announced that Snoop Dogg, alongside footballing legend Luka Modric, had become a minority investor in Swansea. There must be something in the Welsh water. Swansea is storied club with a hugely passionate fanbase and a recent history of Premier League football and both elite player and manager development. Getting to the bottom of what facilitated this high profile involvement is one thing, but CEO Tom Gorringe is facing all the usual challenges of creating an elite playing environment delivering results on the pitch while trying to ensure the business is exceeding expectations to allow the club to spend money and challenge for promotion. There are some statistics in here that shocked us, some conditions that have to be taken into account that are unique to this club, but when reflecting on this conversation, this is a team absolutely moving in the right direction. It's maximisation of financial opportunity without losing your values alongside how we're still gunning for a Snoop Dogg, Just Eat, Rossi's collaboration to take place pre game (one for Swansea fans/if you're not go and google the iconic fish and chip establishment). For the first time in history, three Welsh clubs have reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup in the same season - cementing some encouraging and improving early-season form for Cardiff City, Swansea City and Wrexham. There's not much to shout about at Newport County, though. Sam's Gillingham record-breaking side were the latest to increase the pressure on manager Dave Hughes, but at least the Rodney Parade faithful made their presence felt on the away dugout.Iwan recalls having to play with a retired goalkeeper in an FA Cup semi-final, and Carl confesses to shameful red cards in his parks football days.
Mark Sutherns joins James to discuss a dramatic start to Nottingham Forest's season that has seen the popular Nuno Espirito Santo depart and be replaced by a man James knows very well, Ange Postecoglu. There's discussion on where it went wrong behind the scenes for Nuno, which led to what felt to many, like an inevitable departure, despite his brilliant achievement in bringing European football back to The City Ground. And what we can expect from Ange, with the man himself saying changes will now be implemented, starting with tonight's trip to Swansea City in the Carabao Cup? But many are sceptical following his spell at Tottenham Hotspur where despite delivering a trophy the team fell to a 17th place league finish. Have lessons been learned? Should Forest fans be excited? Or nervous? And which players are likely to fit what the new man wants, and does he have the personnel to achieve it?
