In 2010 two things were big. 3D films and Sam Worthington, both a result of Avatar from 2009. And whilst that franchise continues on Clash of the Titans (which incorporates both) acts as a time capsule of that era of film making. Also acting as a reboot of the 1981 Ray Harryhausen original movie it pits Perseus, the son of Liam Neeson's Zeus, against the Gods of Olympus including Ralph Finnes Hades who is threatening to release the Kraken on the ever increasingly disgruntled mortals of Greece. Stacey Williams joins Joanna Coles as the anticipated release of the Epstein files throws fresh scrutiny on Donald Trump's long-denied proximity to Jeffrey Epstein. Williams recounts how a dinner invitation led to a relationship with Epstein—and, she says, to being deliberately walked into Trump Tower where Trump groped her while Epstein stood by, a moment she now believes was staged. Does her account expose how power, silence, and sexual coercion were normalized at the highest levels—and why Trump remains untouched as others in Epstein's orbit fall? Hosted on Acast. In this episode, I celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Secular Buddhism podcast by announcing a new AI-powered website, EightfoldPath.com, which serves as a modern application of the Buddhist concept of skillful means. Skillful means, or upaya, is the idea that teachings should adapt to meet individuals where they are, using whatever tools or methods are most effective for reducing suffering and cultivating wisdom. Throughout history, technologies like writing, the printing press, and the internet have served as skillful means for transmitting Buddhist teachings, and now artificial intelligence is the latest iteration. The new website features "Noah AI," a tool trained on all my past content, acting as a conversational thinking partner to make these ancient insights more accessible and interactive for modern learners, emphasizing that the technology is simply a vehicle for the teachings, not the teachings themselves. Learn more at eightfoldpath.comThe podcast celebrates its 10-year anniversary, marking a decade of making Buddhist teachings accessible through modern technology. The concept of "skillful means" (upaya) is central, emphasizing the adaptation of teaching methods to individual needs and situations, a principle applied throughout Buddhist history with the advent of writing, printing, and digital media.A new AI-powered website, EightfoldPath.com, has been launched, featuring "Noah AI," a tool trained on all of Noah Rasheta's content to serve as a conversational thinking partner for exploring Buddhist teachings. The website offers free access to transcribed podcast episodes, courses, and the AI tool, with additional benefits for supporters, aiming to make wisdom and compassion more accessible. The shift to EightfoldPath.com signifies a broader scope beyond "secular Buddhism," focusing on the universal "Eightfold Path" as the core of the teachings, regardless of labels. In Burned by a Paper Sun, shadows come in a thousand shapes—some drawn long beneath a dying sky, others drifting and lost beneath a wandering cloud. Yet one certainty has always remained: every shadow must have a caster. But what if that isn't true? What if darkness could stand on its own? In this first episode William is a rational man, but even rational men are left broken by the Great Darkness of 1999. Chris Whipple joins Joanna Coles as his explosive Susie Wiles profile sends shockwaves through Trump's White House. After 11 months of on-the-record access, for Vanity Fair, to Susie Wiles, Whipple explains why the facts can't be denied—and why her description of Trump's “alcoholic personality” has triggered cabinet-wide panic and presidential pushback. Does this unprecedented candor reveal how Trump 2.0 actually functions, or mark the moment the West Wing turns on its most powerful gatekeeper? Hosted on Acast. But the episode turns darker with Trump's grotesque response to the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife—a moment that shocked even his own insiders. Wolff argues this wasn't calculation or cruelty, but something giving way. And it leaves an unavoidable question hanging in the air: how long can a presidency survive when self-destruction is no longer strategic, but instinctive? Hosted on Acast. This week, Scott down with his Lawfare colleagues Alan Rozenshtein and Ari Tabatabai to talk through a few of the week's big national security news stories, including:“Once You Pop, You Can't Stop.” The Trump administration has given a green light to Nvidia to export its powerful H200 chips to China, opening a potentially significant new market while jumpstarting China's strategically significant AI industry—or, perhaps, making it reliant on U.S. technology. What explains this decision? And how does it align with the Trump administration's broader reframing of strategic competition with China as a primarily economic problem, as reflected in its recent National Security Strategy?“Lavatories of Democracy.” Late last week, President Trump signed an executive order setting up a number of mechanisms intended to assert federal preemption over and otherwise deter state efforts to regulate the development and use of AI—an executive branch-only effort that followed a failed push to insert a related legislative provision into year-end omnibus legislation. How effective is this measure likely to be? And how wise is it to try and bar the states from regulating AI development and use in the first place?“Some Things You Can't Make Light Of.” Over the weekend, a pair of gunmen inspired by the Islamic State executed a brutal massacre at a Hanukkah event on Australia's Bondi Beach, killing 15 people and injuring 40. The violence has shocked Australia, a country with strict gun control laws where incidents of anti-semitism have been on the rise, as in much of the world. What is there to learn from the attack and its aftermath? And what could its ramifications be, both in Australia and further abroad? In object lessons, Alan tells us what the buzz is—seeing Jesus Christ Superstar live. Scott, heavy with Christmas spirit, shares his grandmother's recipe for sour cream coffee cake (remember, during the holidays, dense=delicious). And Ari keeps us grounded with a recommendation of “Don't Let's Go To the Dogs Tonight,” a South African film about a White Zimbabwean family following the Rhodesian Bush War.Rational Security will be having its traditional end-of-year episode later this month, which will focus on listener-submitted topics and object lessons! In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Smitha Rao—biotechnologist, longtime beauty innovator, and founder of Pareva Beauty—for a grounded, science-first conversation on what skin longevity actually means. Part of the Lessons in Longevity series, this episode challenges the tired idea of “anti-aging” and reframes skincare as long-term biological support rather than surface-level correction. With nearly two decades in biotech and beauty, Smitha brings a rare perspective shaped by molecule development, patents licensed across major brands, and leadership roles behind more than 200 products. That experience revealed a growing disconnect: while consumers want clarity and real science, the industry often defaults to hype, fear-based claims, and trend chasing. Pareva Beauty was born as a response—built on transparency, rigor, and the belief that longevity is about extending skin function and resilience, not reversing time.At the center of the discussion is Molecur 3™, Pareva's proprietary, plant-based technology inspired by the Hallmarks of Aging. Smitha explains how targeting inflammation, cellular stress, and age-related decline—rather than isolated “anti-aging” claims—creates a more realistic and sustainable path for skin health. The conversation also dives into plant-derived exosomal signaling, why it differs from human-derived systems, and how it offers a safer, scalable approach for topical longevity skincare.Together, Dr. Ekta and Smitha unpack why fewer, better-designed products outperform complex routines, why transparency matters more than vague “clean” labels, and how longevity skincare must earn trust through data—not promises.Listen to the full episode to hear how Smitha Rao is helping redefine the future of skincare—where science, honesty, and long-term skin health come first.Shop Parëva Beauty and use code SA20 for 20% through 3/17.CHAPTERS:(0:02) - Introduction, Lessons in Longevity & Smitha Rao(1:21) - From Biotech to Beauty Innovation(2:50) - Why Pareva Was Created & The Longevity Gap(3:33) - Defining Skin Longevity & Extending Your Prime(5:38) - Rejecting Anti-Aging & Reframing Aging Quality(8:51) - Molecure 3™: Hallmarks of Aging Inspiration(10:27) - Plant Stem Cells, NAD⁺ & Exosome Signaling(14:00) - Exosomes Explained: Plant vs Human-Derived(22:51) - Simplifying Skincare: Fewer Steps, Better ResultsPlease fill out this survey to give us feedback on the show!Don't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!*This is a paid collaboration Hosted on Acast. For decades, women were told that if they wanted equality, they needed to lean in harder. Work more. Organize better. Choose better partners. Be more efficient. And yet, here we are. More educated than ever. More present in the workforce than ever. And somehow… more exhausted. My guest today says this isn't a contradiction. It's a data point. Dr. Corinne Low is a Wharton professor and an economist. She is the author of the new book, Having it All: What Data Tells Us About Women's Lives and Getting the Most Out of Yours. She has spent the last 15 years studying how women actually live — how we work, how we partner, how we parent, and how we divide time and labor inside our homes. And what her research shows is uncomfortable: while women's careers have evolved dramatically, the structure of marriage and household labor has barely changed since the 1970s.In this conversation, Corinne walks us through the data behind why modern women are so tired, why the mental load remains stubbornly unequal, and why cooking, cleaning, caregiving, and the invisible work of running a household still fall disproportionately on women — regardless of who brings home the bigger paycheck. We talk about why “fair” isn't always the right goal — and why sustainability, nourishment, and evidence-based decision making matter more. We dig into outsourcing, why women undervalue their time, and why we're far more comfortable paying someone to change the oil than paying someone to make dinner. And then there's Corinne's personal story, one that the media turned into a headline, but rarely explained well. After divorcing a man, Corinne remarried a woman. And in doing so, she experienced something unexpected: when gender stopped silently organizing the household, equality no longer had to be negotiated; it could be designed. We talk candidly about what same-sex couples get right about partnership, what heterosexual couples can learn from that, and why true equality at home requires interrogating defaults — not just dividing tasks. We also get into the bigger questions women are asking right now: when to have children, how motherhood reshapes careers, why women still take the professional hit for caregiving, and how AI and economic change may actually make women's labor more — not less — essential in the future.
