In September last year, Chris Powell joined Gareth Southgate's coaching staff at the England men's national football team. Powell's appointment was part of the Football Association's Elite Coach Placement Programme, which sought to place black, Asian and other minority ethnic coaches at various stages of the national player pathway. It is a position he discusses at length in this episode of At Home With Leaders, which is brought to you today by our sponsors Football Manager, the global hit football simulation game. The role also meant Powell, who played more that 760 senior matches before embarking on his coaching career a decade ago, had to spend his 50th birthday at an England training camp. "Normally I'd be planning a party or having a big meal with my family," he explains, "but I preferred this, to be honest!" Powell spoke to co-hosts Matthew Stone, Leaders’ Senior Product Manager, and sports psychologist and consultant Michael Caulfield, whose clients include Brentford FC, Northampton Saints RFC and Hampshire CCC. Also on the agenda were: - How the shutdown might have changed him as a coach [5:00]; - The evolving outlook of the modern player [14:00]; - Why Gareth Southgate welcomes being challenged at training [20:00]; - The capacity for footballers to effect change in society and the implications for their performance [28:00]. Democrats Will Get OBLITERATED In November Over Blocking Emergency Aid For Political Agenda. Republicans skipped vacation in order to negotiate an emergency relief bill that would see most Americans get a stimulus check for $1,200.Democrats ended up blocking the bill after Nancy pelosi came in with a list of demands in a move that shocked nearly everyone. It turns out that internally Democrats saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of American desperation to force in agenda items at the expense of the American people. It goes without saying that at America's most desperate time we should not be playing this kind of politics yet here we are. Normally I'd be reticent to make such accusations but remember that Mitch McConnell skipped his vacation to negotiate this bill only to have it then blocked. That is not good faith on the part of Democrats and the American people should be paying the price for it.Trump is going to landslide in November and with Joe Biden's disappearance who could argue.Support the show (http://timcast.com/donate)
I must say this episode was recorded with the heaviest of hearts. Learning about Kobe Bryant, his daughter GiGi and the rest of the families affected by the fatal helicopter crash put quite a mood on us at Sucka Free but in true Mamba mentality fashion we pulled together and got a a very special guest to join us. Normally I'd get into the details but Caps just wants to say love those close to you and enjoy life cause you don't know when its your time. May you rest in peace Mamba and little Mambacita your impact on life in not just the game of basketball but the game of life will never be forgotten! Thank Kobe! Stay blessed and stay Sucka Free!
The recap is real in this one! Pretty much anything you can (and can't) think of, we discussed it in this episode. Normally I'd list them but it's better if you just listen to it for yourself! Take heed Haze Heads, this is the last one of the season so we jam packed it out for you! Epic! Happy New Year to you from us here at Clear The Haze and we wish you a merry 2020! @clearthehaze
Happy Halloween! Normally I'd tell you what this episode is all about. For today, it'll be a trick or treat that you'll have to find out for yourself.
Normally I'd be excited. And maybe I should be. Obamacare reform isn't going to happen. (Even if it does happen) There's little to no hope of any tax reform which means no increase in the debt and deficit and... There's no budget on the horizon which means getting big spending projects done is nearly impossible. These are all good things, but it would be nice if, for once, Congress could get some significant spending cuts, tax cuts, and regulation reform accomplished. This has been the Republican promise, but alas, as usual, their tough talk turns out to be just that, talk. Today I want to talk with you about government lies and empty promises. We'll use the current state of affairs as our examples. Happy Friday everyone. Enjoy! Jason Support the show.
Normally I'd write a smarmy, self-indulgent intro here. But it's Monday and I'm freaking exhausted. You'll live. See you all next week!

Topic: CluelessGeek: EmilyWe're back for season three! And we're starting with a bang: the classic teen comedy Clueless. In case you're unfamiliar (somehow?) with this film, it stars lots of famous people and music and features a parade of classic outfits and phrases - and best of all, it's based on Jane Austen's "Emma."Normally I'd launch into how I first watched this movie or why I fell in love with it, but I honestly can't remember the first time I watched it. It's just sort of part of my pop cultural DNA, and I love it to pieces. But did Eric? You'll have to listen. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
