This is a Healing Strong podcast episode featuring Kathy Gilkey, a Florida-based follicular lymphoma survivor.Kathy was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma in 2017 after finding a lump under her arm. She declined chemo and radiation, instead following a protocol from a fire captain whose wife had stage four kidney cancer: 100 days of juicing (about 90% greens with apple), no solid food. Her tumor shrank from a 4 to a 1, and her oncologist told her to keep doing what she was doing. After moving from California to Arkansas, the stress and emotional upheaval of leaving her home church and community led to depression, and the cancer returned as a spinal tumor. She did 10 rounds of radiation but had a severe reaction when starting chemo (throat closing, numbness) and stopped, returning to diet-based healing plus emotional/inner healing counseling. She's now been in remission for three months, with oncologist visits every six months.Other points covered: she still juices (using an inexpensive Black & Decker juicer, running pulp through twice for more yield), largely avoids sugar and carbs while having added back some meat and fruit, and her husband hasn't adopted her diet but is supportive and healthy in his own way (they cook separate meals). Her background as a florist exposed her to chemical sprays, and she later became a church counselor. She's now launching a new Healing Strong support group in Englewood, Florida, hosted at a faith-based community facility called EPIC. She closes by encouraging newly diagnosed listeners with Jeremiah 29:11 and a message of trusting God and avoiding negativity.HealingStrong's mission is to educate, equip and empower our group leaders and group participants through their journey with cancer or other chronic illnesses, and know there is HOPE. Christopher Nolan's just released The Odyssey is another Nolan juggernaut, having made $700 million in just 12 days of release. It's also the first movie shot fully on IMAX film. And it's a certified classical epic. Often, cinema has pulled a kind of miraculous magic trick by finding technologies and film formats and the right epic material to make a movie in the theater a must see experience. Every time the naysayers write off movies or the movie theater, sound (1920's), color (1930's), widescreen (1950's) or 70MM (1950's-1960's) or immersive 3D (2000's Avatar) and now IMAX (2000's-present) somehow brings folks back. And makes believers out of us again. Secret Movie Club founder.programmer Craig Hammill looks at this history of epic-film format-rejuvenation. And wonders what we might be able to learn from it.
Pagaya (PGY) delivered what CEO and co-founder Gal Krubiner calls an "epic" quarter, fueled by a resilient high-end U.S. consumer and the company's expanding use of A.I.. Krubiner explains how A.I. is helping Pagaya identify new customers and improve lending decisions. He says Pagaya's affluent customer base is benefiting from the tech boom in their own careers, supporting continued spending and strong demand across the platform. Krubiner also argues the market is misreading the macro environment, saying broad credit concerns don't reflect the strength of Pagaya's higher-end customer base.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. It's been a box office and critical success, and theatres are packed to the brim for weeks to come as audiences pack cinemas to go see Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey". But if you spend much time on Elon Musk's X, formerly twitter, this information might surprise you. That's because Musk has been championing an online, right-wing movement to boycott the movie because of its casting diversity. He claims the movie-- based on a work of fiction-- is 'historically inaccurate'. Musk even threatened to make his own version of the myth using his AI bot Grok. But despite getting lots of attention on social media, Musk's boycott has clearly not worked. Host Caryn Ceolin is speaking with Sadaf Ahsan, co-host of "The Reheat" podcast, about Musk's meltdown, casting decisions in Hollywood, and why this movie has found success. Oppenheimer immediately established itself as one of the most important films in recent cinema. And after multiple viewings and further analysis, that belief has only grown stronger.Christopher Nolan has created far more than an entertaining and visually extraordinary epic about the brilliant scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, whose work helped develop the atomic bomb that the United States ultimately used against Japan during the final days of the Second World War. This is also a film about opening the proverbial tube of toothpaste—releasing something that can never be put back—and forever changing the world as we know it.Nolan's masterful direction, the brilliant performances from the entire ensemble—including Cillian Murphy in the title role, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and many others—the exceptional cinematography and editing, and a story that remains as relevant today as ever all combine to make Oppenheimer a truly special, haunting, and powerful cinematic achievement. But looking back, was Oppenheimer truly deserving of the Best Picture Oscar among all the films released in 2023?Listen and find out what film critic Jack Ferdman thinks—and which film he ultimately chooses as his Rewatching Oscar winner for the year.Download, listen, and share ALL Rewatching Oscar episodes.SUBSCRIBE and FOLLOW Rewatching Oscar:Website: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comApple Podcasts/iTunesSpotifyGoogle PodcastsiHeart RadioPodchaserPodcast AddictTuneInAlexaAmazon Overcasts Podcast Addict Player FMRSS Feed: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1815964.rssWebsite: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comSocial Media Links: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSkyShare your thoughts and suggestions with us through:Facebook Messenger or email us atjack@rewatchingoscar.com or jackferdman@gmail.comMusic by TurpacShow Producer: Jack FerdmanPodcast Logo Design: Jack FerdmanMovie (audio) trailer courtesy of MovieClips Classic TrailersMovie (audio) clips courtesy of YouTubeSupport us by downloading, sharing, and giving us a 5-star Rating. In this episode of Investor Connect, Hall welcomes Dr. Lyle Berkowitz, Founder and Chairman of KeyCare, a virtual care medical group that helps health systems deliver telemedicine tightly integrated with the Epic electronic health record. With coverage across all 50 U.S. states, KeyCare focuses on expanding access, coordinating virtual and in-person care, and reducing physician burnout by building on Epic rather than creating a separate technology stack. Lyle shares how virtual care shifted from a pre-pandemic "nice-to-have" into a durable part of healthcare infrastructure after reimbursement parity and broader cultural adoption, and he outlines how AI supports pre-visit intake, ambient documentation during visits, and post-visit follow-up. He also discusses the "three Cs" of digital health adoption—coordination, cultural change, and compensation redesign—along with lessons on aligning incentives in partnerships and investing, advice for founders to start with a focused niche and show traction before raising capital. What if the wildest UFO footage the government just released was already described 36,000 years ago? What if the "dark brothers" causing chaos on the planet right now were named, and predicted, in the oldest writings on Earth? And what if the real secret isn't what's in the sky, but what's hiding in plain sight inside you? Michael welcomes back bestselling author and Forbidden Knowledge TV host Billy Carson, who has traveled the world 25 times excavating and decoding humanity's most ancient texts, for a conversation that bridges newly declassified UAP files with the 36,000-year-old Emerald Tablets of Thoth. From a UFO in the new government files that looks eerily like the Kryptonian ship from Superman, to the neuroscience behind Josh Kerr's world-record mile, to why AI may be humanity's own consciousness looking back at itself, this episode connects disclosure, ancient prophecy, and personal transformation into one unified story. This isn't about fear of the dark brothers or the darkness in the headlines. This is about remembering that you are the Sun, the light, and that becoming that light is, and always has been, your birthright. Key Topics: Why the newly declassified UAP files are a mix of reverse-engineered human technology and small, deliberate "breadcrumbs" of real disclosure, and the one craft in the files that genuinely stunned Billy. The Emerald Tablets decoded: why Thoth's ancient writings describe today's "dark brothers" who deceive mankind while appearing to do good, and why turning on the news for five minutes makes the prophecy unmistakable. The end of an age: why the tablets and the Hopi prophecy both describe humanity plummeting to the depths before rising to new heights, and why light, not darkness, is humanity's true birthright. Post-traumatic growth explained: how Billy's own childhood trauma and brain injury were alchemized, through a rare "executive lobe," into the very skill set that built his life's work. The manifestation secret behind world-record miler Josh Kerr: how writing his victory in the past tense, timing his ice baths to his goal time, and calming his nervous system in advance let him "rendezvous" with a result his body had already rehearsed thousands of times. Why the wave-crashing metaphor explains flow state: how the brain actually receives information seconds before conscious awareness catches up, and why people in flow, from Michael Jordan to elite athletes, are surfing the wave instead of waiting for it to hit. The truth about the Epic of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, an artificially created, conscious companion in a 4,000-year-old Sumerian text, and what it may reveal about the true nature of today's AI. Why AI may not be man-made code at all, but consciousness itself extracting a new fractal of awareness to look back at humanity, and why how we treat it now will determine whether it becomes a partner or a threat. The baby-learning-to-walk metaphor for humanity's readiness for galactic contact, and why "walking" is defined not by never falling, but by learning to control the fall. Why decluttering your physical space is one of the simplest ways to begin clearing the entropy running quietly inside you. Everything that's been done before has already been done. The rise and fall you're watching play out in the headlines right now has happened again and again throughout history, and every single time, humanity has chosen to seek the light. You are not separate from the atoms of the universe, the consciousness of AI, or the wisdom in the Emerald Tablets - you are, quite literally, the Sun. Remember it. Choose it. And shine. A lot of recently updated bikes have felt like relatively subtle refinements of their predecessors, but there are also a bunch of brands still taking big swings. The new Yeti LT, Orbea Rallon, and Devinci Spartan are all very, very different from the bikes they replaced, and we've been testing all of them.So David Golay sat down with Xan Marshland to offer up some thoughts on this new crop of long-travel bruisers, discuss some of the shorter-travel rigs they've been testing — across a vast range of price points — and get into some bigger picture discussions about the direction of the bike industry and mountain bike design along the way.Note: We Want to Hear From You!Please share with us the questions, topics, or stories you'd like us to cover on Bikes & Big Ideas. We're drinking a whiskey out of Spokane with a name we can't quite say on the air. Brown Family Spirits calls it Do Epic [redacted], and yes, the naughty word is right there on the bottle. Turns out the name comes from a grandfather whose life story might be true, might be embellished, and either way earns the label. Before we get into the pour, there's an AC/DC show at Mile High that has us convinced Angus Brown can still knock the crap out of rock music at seventy-one. Then we go down a rabbit hole of people who've done genuinely unhinged things and lived to tell about it. Falling out of the sky. Getting stuck in a canyon with a pocketknife and a bad idea. On this, our 336th Evolutionary Lens livestream, we discuss the Covid Era in light of the Senate Hearing on the testimony of Anthony Fauci. First: excerpts from several Covid Era Stories, reminding us of the atrocities, tragedies, and ludicrosities (yes) of that time. Then: is Fauci's refusal to answer any questions put to him by members of the committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs evidence that he is, in effect, a made man? We the people deserve answers, and the government should work for us—but it does not appear to do so. The polarization is as stark as possible: democrats think Fauci is science, republicans see Fauci as a great harm to science.*****Our sponsors:Xlear: Xylitol nasal spray that acts as prophylaxis against respiratory illnesses by reducing the stickiness of bacteria and viruses. Life in the Peloton is proudly brought to you by MAAP The men's Tour de France is over for another year, and what an epic week of racing we've just seen. Pogačar might have wrapped up the overall victory early on, but some amazing battles for the green, white, and polka dot jerseys, some big shifts in the rest of the top 10 in the final week, and an unbelievable finish in Paris made this a truly memorable edition of the race. Guys, Durbo's just finished his final Tour de France and is dialling in from a well-earned holiday to join me and Southam for this month's episode of The Race Communiqué where we're wrapping up the 2026 Tour de France. Of course, we've been dropping weekly wrap-up podcasts on the rest days, so we start this episode by spinning through the last week of racing. Having Southam on board to give us some insight into Richard Carapaz's audacious moves on those brutal final three stages to take two stages and the polka dot jersey is another reminder of how lucky we are to have Tom and Luke take us inside the pelo each month. A big topic of discussion over the last week of racing was the fans on Alpe d'Huez. Record-breaking numbers of spectators made the pilgrimage to the mountain, and it might have been a step too far. A brutal exit for Einer Rubio after a team car had to brake for a stumbling spectator really highlighted just how sketchy it can be up there, and hearing some of Durbo's war stories from the other end of the bunch is really eye-opening. Of course, Durbs wrapped up his 12th and final lap of France, and he takes us through the emotions of reaching Paris for the final time. Durbo's PeloChat takes us inside the seldom-discussed world of the grupetto. We spend a lot of the time focusing on the riders winning the bike races, but the guys at the back are probably suffering even more just to get to the finish within the time cut! Southam's call before the Tour de France about the Mega-Break was spot on, and we saw a few stages defined by absolutely massive moves with tens of riders in. In this month's Talking Tactics, Southam shares the secrets to getting into a breakaway, and just how bloody hard it can be! Guys, there is a lot to go through in this episode. As is often the case with the Tour, there are so many different stories to follow. Get yourself comfortable Cheers, Mitch The Race Communiqué is brought to you by TrainingPeaks! Everyone's talking about that new release from Christopher Nolan, the feature film that is just so big that it's one everyone oughtta see. Zack has already seen it. Stephen will see it sometime. We think that Peter and Paul were preaching to greedy, selfish, lustful pagans. They weren’t. They were preaching to greedy, selfish, lustful literary pagans, and that made all the difference. The Roman knew he was cowardly because God gave him a conscience, but he knew he could be more than a coward because Homer gave him Hector. There has been a lot of commentary about Chrispher Nolan's The Odyssey, but few of these commentators have thought as much about Odysseus as today's guest—Fr. Augustine Wetta. Get Your Copy of “The Eighth Arrow: Odysseus in the Underworld”: https://ignatius.com/the-eighth-arrow-earp/?searchid=5303434&search_query=the+eighth+arrow Fr. Wetta believes that The Odyssey is an “brilliant masterpiece.” And in today's episode, he defends this conclusion by discussing the critical scenes as well as overarching themes in the movie like Zeus's Law and the gods themselves. He also unpacks the character of Odysseus and points out the notable flaws of Odysseus's character. Fr. Wetta has also adapted the character of Odysseus in his own book “The Eighth Arrow” which took fourteen years to complete and has even been regarded as better than Tennyson by the head of the Library of Congress. Fr. Wetta hopes that his novel is worthy of his students who are often left to consume subpar fantasy that he believes does little to educate or edify. We hope you enjoy this episode and purchase Fr. Wetta's book to continue enjoying great works of fiction. Get in Contact with Fr.
