What in the world convinced two 21 year olds to get married while the rest of us were trying to figure out the right water to shots ratio to avoid a hangover? Tabitha and Pete Fields try to help Stephanie and Travis make sense of it. Six years, one baby, buying and selling a home, and moving to a different state later, they still like each other. We all know marriage comes with challenges, mostly because two people who have lived as individuals now have to learn how to live relationally. Doing this before their brains had fully developed into adult brains came with its unique but relatable challenges for the Field's. From pathological lying to navigating and reducing erratic and intense emotions. They refused to model the broken homes they lived through, so they leaned into mentorship to save their marriage. They also speak very candidly about how intentional they were to deliberately change behaviors that they learned in childhood. They identify childhood trauma not to live in the victimhood, but to acknowledge and heal. Oh and we have a question for y'all, who is worse? The passive aggressive person or the person that is outwardly angry and direct? The answer may lie in perception.Sponsor: Cloud 9 Buttershttps://cloud9butters.com/https://twitter.com/cloud9buttershttps://www.instagram.com/cloud9butters/Become A Patron! - https://patreon.com/westilllikeeachother/
Over the last 18 months, the digital workplace has become the essential workplace. Initially, there was urgency to accelerate technical implementations and roll-outs to support homeworking, but now digital workplace teams can focus on recalibrating strategy, uncovering gaps in governance and supporting colleagues to optimally use the tools at their disposal. In this episode, Nancy Goebel talks with Elizabeth Marsh, DWG's Director of Research, and Pete Fields, Digital Employee Experience influencer and advocate, to discuss what's trending in the post-pandemic workplace. The mega-trends include digital workplace anthropology, which covers digital fatigue, technostress and how the increasing pace of technological change is impacting people; putting AI into perspective, including the challenge around ethics; and no code & low code solutions, which enable teams to develop what they need themselves. The trio also share ‘living examples' of good practice from DWG's Digital Workplace of the Year Awards winners. This enlightening conversation will help you to think about post-pandemic resilience and kick start your digital workplace research reading list! When Slow Motion Cowboys began warming up this recording session, everyone on our crew paused for a moment to absorb their terrific sounds. A San Francisco native, Pete Fields is supported by Dan Massie and the ubiquitous Joe Lewis (who runs one of SF’s finer music venues: Blue Six). So ride off into the sunset with us, ever so slowly.
