She has a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, and an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. She is a licensed Veterinary Technician, who worked at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo as a Veterinary Technician for 12 years, prior to starting the sanctuary.
