Before getting into "Contract," S5E5 of 'Billions,' cocreators Brian Koppelman and David Levien discuss diving into Bobby Axelrod's childhood; the greatness of the episode's director, Adam Bernstein; and the costume and wardrobe department's effect on the show; they also explain some obscure references and shout-out some guest-cast performances (0:30). They next speak with actress, writer, and comedian Eva Victor about her signature style-satire videos; the dynamic relationship between her character, Rian, and Winston; how Eva's part came about; set stories; and more (36:06).
Kirk and Kyle talk a bunch of stuff including their dream casting for the Tiger King movie while recording S5E4, S5E5, S5E6, and S5E7 of NYPD Blue Balls. (Recorded: ?/?/?) (Slightly Edited)

Talking Through The End of Everything On this episode 56 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and Kyle are joined again by our special guest co-host Mark from The Walking Dead Talk Through, as we talk through Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 5, which is titled, The End of Everything. This was written by co-showrunners Andrew Chambliss & Ian Goldberg, and directed by co-executive producer Michael E. Satrazemis. We have more feedback for last week’s episode… S5E5 coverage starts at 13:35… Before we get into this week’s episode, we have to share more feedback we received for last week’s episode, S5E4 Skidmark. Discussion on this week’s episode starts at 13 minutes and 35 seconds into the podcast. Althea’s Backstory and The Bog We get to learn a bit about why Althea’s so determined to get the story and at least a part of the story that was The Bog. She chased the story instead of staying with her brother. We get some insights about the group with the helicopter that we also see that takes away Rick on The Walking Dead. If they are trying to rebuild civilization, why are they killing anyone they come in contact with? For that matter, to take it down to basic survival, since a civilization needs people, not to mention more people being born, why would you kill someone who can have children? Why not recruit her? I don’t get it. This episode just made me ask a lot more questions about them than it answered. An impossible relationship? Yes, it was obvious that there was an attraction between Althea and Isabelle, but the whole “I’m going to kill you but I can’t ’cause I love you” vibe I just couldn’t get into. If the actors weren’t as strong this episode, I would not have given a much lower rating to this episode, but I liked the ending and in the end, I liked it more than I could have. Kyle and Mark liked it more than I did. FTWD Ratings are up slightly… This week, FTWD ratings sunk to a new low in the 18-49 demographic. S5E5 The End of Everything got a 0.46 in the 18-49 demographic with 1.708 million viewers, up from the last week‘s 0.45 and 1.655 million viewers. Again, there was no Talking Dead this week so no ratings for it. That’s it for The End of Everything! The End of Everything didn’t wow us. We liked it, but no one loved it. We have to record a day early next week, so please leave your feedback for Fear the Walking Dead, Season 5 Episode 6, which is titled The Little Prince, by 6 PM Ea

In this 20th episode of Berserker Cast, Darrell and I (Emilee) take a look at Falling Skies Season 5 Episode 5, entitled Non-Essential Personnel. This was quite an interesting discussion as Darrell and I found ourselves literally on opposite sides of the same coin. Interestingly, a feedbacker mentions they were wary about this episode due to the synopsis, which sounded a bit like the episode last year where Tom, Weaver and Matt encounter the brothers in the woods on the way back from rescuing Matt. It just so happens that episode was the fifth of season four, just as this is the fifth episode of season five. Both episodes felt like they stalled the overall progression of their respective seasons. They did little to advance the storyline, and instead provide an extended commentary on the state and nature of humanity. Read more... Talking Through Self Help As we careen past the quarter mark of the fifth season with the fifth episode, Self Help, directed by Ernest Dickerson, we finally get to see a little of what motivates one of the newest members of our Walking Dead family, Abraham. While not much is revealed, it is still a tantalizing clue to what makes this man tick. In this episode, we talk about the journey to D.C. and the obstacles our gang face along the way. Why is Abraham so driven to keep going? And why does Rosita side with him up until the end of the episode? For that matter, why did Eugene say that he’s not a scientist at the end of the episode? Did the whole episode really almost get pulled by censors, or just parts of it? These questions and more are discussed, but we don’t have all the answers. We also have more questions about this episode and the future of our gang in The Walking Dead. Ratings were down… The ratings are not quite as high as last week’s episode but they still beat football. Self Help got a 7.00 in the 18-49 demographic, with 13.530 million viewers. That’s down from 7.60 and 14.518 million viewers last week. People were probably curious about Beth’s whereabouts.
