It's the end of season one with this rather strange episode in the history of TWD, with themes of sexual assault and suicide in this weirdly super-high-tech facility with the lone scientist who seems to know more about the ZA than anyone. They'll thank you for it :)If you're in a Walking Dead Facebook group (or any other WD group), let them know too! Editor - Sam Restivo NAPOLEON editor Sam Restivo credits the dutiful mentoring of editor Claire Simpson ACE for how he found himself co-chairing the editorial duties for Ridley Scott's latest film. Sam first worked with Claire as her assistant editor on the tv series RAISED BY WOLVES (2020). From there, Claire brought Sam as her assistant to his first Ridley Scott feature, THE LAST DUEL (2021). He would assist Claire one more time for Scott's HOUSE OF GUCCI (2021) before getting the promotion for NAPOLEON. Ridley Scott's NAPOLEON is a look at the military commander's origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine. SAM RESTIVO Aside from his work with Claire Simpson and Ridley Scott, Sam has worked as an assistant editor on TV series like THE WALKING DEAD (2014) and BETTER CALL SAUL (2015) as well as being an additional editor for features such as THE GREATEST SHOWMAN (2017) and ROBIN HOOD (2018). Today on Too Opinionated, our good friend award-winning actress, producer, and stunt performer Elena Sanchez returns to the program! Elena stars alongside William Forsythe (Raising Arizona), Jeremy London (Mallrats), and Amber Reign Smith (The Other Black Girl, Rap Sh!t) in Open, a film intertwining the surrealism of nostalgia with the complex reality of modern relationships. Open follows a woman in a troubled marriage who falls for a former teen heartthrob fallen from industry favor, while having nagging (and empowering) hallucinations about fronting an ‘80s new wave band. Elena plays "Emma," a long-time friend of the couple who gets caught up not only in the complicated waters of her friends' open marriage, but also in the hallucinated 1980s music video paradise that intertwines with the real world. Elena learned to play the drums for this project, as “Emma” is also the drummer in the hallucinated band. The film released a vinyl soundtrack on 10/17 with 10 original songs created and performed by the composer and filmmakers for the movie – Sanchez is credited on 3 of the singles. Elena's feature film debut as an actress was the highly anticipated second installment of The Hunger Games films, Catching Fire, where she portrayed Cecelia, the tribute from District 8. She has since shared the screen acting opposite Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell, and Tim Roth, as well as performing alongside the likes of Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallone, Chris Pratt, and Gerard Butler. Elena's television appearances include roles on CBS's NCIS: New Orleans, FOX's Sleepy Hollow, and AMC's The Walking Dead, where she memorably killed off bratty villain Sebastian Milton in the final season. Elena has won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in Avengers: Endgame, has been nominated five additional times, and has been nominated for two Taurus World Stunt Awards. Welcome back to a new week and a new episode! Coming off of Thanksgiving weekend the brothers sit down and jump in and get back to it! We have some more news coming out of the MCU and the Marvel camp. Will the Captain America movie be bad? The Marvels had the worst drop off ever. We have a new spinoff series happening again in the Walking Dead universe and we have a release date. Some crazy news out of the music world with a band filing lawsuits. Jumping over to sports there was some really exciting news from the Dallas Stars camp. One legend is getting a statue next to their arena and it's well deserved. MLB has the 2024 Hall of Fame ballot out and we take a look at the new eligible players and some of the ones still there. MLB free agency is still in a slow spot while we all wait to see where Shohei Ohtani signs. Our NFL teams played on Thanksgiving Day and it wasn't much of a game. The rest of the league games were going on and some were good, but is the NFL mediocre now for the most part? Then we end up on a couple of crazy and funny stories as always. One will make you hesitant to date and the other will have you wondering if you should ever eat Taco Bell again. Hit that play button for us out there and enjoy! In 2016 two friends, one in the USA and the other in the UK started a podcast as they loved watching and discussing The Walking Dead - the show launched in time with the spin off from that main show; Fear the Walking Dead. I am of course discussing this show and those early podcasts where me (Sam) and my then partner in crime Alphie would discuss all things Walking Dead. Time has marched on... Alphie no longer on the show and with Stephan joining this podcast now talks all sorts of stuff and thangs about Marvel, Star Wars and much much more. It all began with FTWD however and so this is an odd moment as it comes to an end, a chapter that is closed and probably - in my opinion - for the best. We review the final six episodes of the shows final season here and we hope you enjoy our chat. Disclaimer: Maddison Clark fans... just do not listen.. you will not like anything I have to say.
It's the aftermath of the zombie attack on camp, and the group is shaken and has a bunch of decisions to make, like weather to kill Jim just because he was bitten, whether to go to an army base or the CDC, and in Shane's case, whether to shoot his best friend so he can have a shot with his wife. What a stand up guy. Glad to be joined by Peter this week to help Lucy and me talk it out! Want to help us keep the rewatch going? Please let your WD-loving friends know we're doing it. It's announced this week that the Amico has launched, just not as a console but as an Android app. Will the necessity of needing two devices, one to serve as the Amico and the other to serve as a controller prove too difficult for this "family friendly" system? And why after saying that games would cost $8 or less is an attempt to charge $15 for the games being made? Do we think the real console will ever see the light of day? I used to say that Fear The Walking Dead was a completely different show than The Walking Dead, but that's not accurate. Though the characters and setting are different (and there's no source material to draw upon), it's still about balancing pragmatism with Tikkun Olam (fixing/building a better world). As we say goodbye to the series that has brought many of us together with such joy, it bears repeating: you may not have gotten what you wanted, but you liked what you got.
Just before our livestream discussing the series finale of Fear The Walking Dead, Sherrandy arranged a surprise guest for us! From Camera Operator to Director of Photography to full-blown Director on The Walking Dead to suddenly becoming Executive Producer/Director on Fear The Walking Dead, Michael Satrazemis not only took the time to bring us back to where and how it all started on Fear The Walking Dead but to thank us for always keying into what he and everyone else involved were trying to accomplish. The takeaway here is that we saw in one another our own personal struggles and all the ways we've shown our mutual appreciation, gratitude, and support over the years.
