Before diving into S5E3, "Beg, Bribe, Bully," 'Billions' cocreators Brian Koppelman and David Levien discuss real-life examples of billionaire feuds, script-to-screen changes, a stellar performance from the assistant director, guest cast members, obscure references, and more (0:40). Then they talk with author Ben Mezrich about his time in the writers' room as consulting producer for Season 5 of 'Billions' (32:44).

Justin and Patrick are back to talk about S5E3, "The Guy for This." We get BIG on the ant metaphors. Jimmy's transformation is now at the forefront of the story, and worlds are blending at last. He's also obviously ruining his relationship. Pat goes bonkers over a Mike scene.

Talking Through Skidmark On this episode 55 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and Kyle are joined again by our special guest co-host Mark from The Walking Dead Talk Through, as we talk through Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4, which is titled, Skidmark. This was written by Samir Mehta, his first episode on this show, and directed by Tara Nicole Weyr, making her second stint as a director on this show. She previously directed S4E11 The Code. We have more feedback for last week’s episode… S5E3 coverage starts at 20:57… Before we get into this week’s episode, we have to share more feedback we received for last week’s episode, S5E3 Humbug’s Gulch. Discussion on this week’s episode starts at 20 minutes and 57 seconds into the podcast. A cat that listens to you! We get a good cold open this episode, with Daniel showing how he uses Skidmark as a diversionary tactic. That little guy seems to know how to get the zombies’ attention and smart enough to know not to let them get too close. I thought this was a great use of the cat, though some would say most cats don’t take commands. However, they do exist. One of my cats, Tazz, reminds me of Skidmark. He listens to commands and usually follows them. We also see Daniel be The Pied Piper of walkers again, something he did in S1E6 The Good Man. More of those kids!!! Quick, get to the choppa! We see that there are more than just Dylan, Max, and Annie that are around. There are more kids, lots more. What happened that made them so scared of grown-ups? Then, we see that symbol we saw when Althea was taken, and We see the helicopter again, and it’s pretty clear this is from the same group… you know, the A or B group… that took away Rick and Jadis in the helicopter on TWD. It seems we’ll get to know more about this group next episode. No, get to the plane, I mean walker chopper! This episode had a unique way to take care of walkers… the plane propellers. That was a pretty cool stunt, helping to save Daniel and at least a truce be called between Daniel and Strand. I thought the scenes with Daniel and Charlie were nice, too. Could he become a foster father for her? FTWD Ratings are down to a new low… This week, FTWD ratings sunk to a new low in the 18-49 demographic. S5E4 Skidmark got a 0.45 in the 18-49 demographic with 1.655 million viewers, the lowest since S4E12 Weak, down from the last week‘s 0.54 and 1.756 million viewers. Again, there was no Talking Dead this week so no ratings for it.

This was written by Ashley Cardiff, her first episode on this show, and directed by Colman Domingo, who plays Strand on the show, and is making his second stint as a director on this show. He previously directed S4E12 Weak. We have more feedback for last week’s episode… S5E3 coverage starts at 27:30… Before we get into this week’s episode, we have to share more feedback we received for last week’s episode, S5E2 The Hurt That Will Happen. Discussion on this week’s episode starts at 27 minutes and 30 seconds into the podcast. Spaghetti western walkers!!! We see this episode lean into the backstory of John, as a former trick shooter at a western theme park. The vibe of this episode, especially the music and look, was reminiscent of the old spaghetti westerns of the 1960s. I thought it perfectly fit in with the Texas motif, and I enjoyed it. Some found the San Antonio Split beyond their suspension of disbelief, but I thought they sold it well by saying it was only the second time John had been able to successfully split a bullet to two targets. Crazy, yes, but I bought it. Dwight!?!? We had already been told by the showrunners that Dwight was going to be crossing over to Fear from the main show, and I was skeptical as to the believability of this crossover, and not sure I wanted him on the show. Now that it’s upon us, I thought it was very well done. I wasn’t always receptive to Dwight’s character and story, but I found myself very drawn to his character’s story, heartbroken that he hadn’t found Sherry yet and how that had led to desperation and anguish. Having him found by John and June, the two characters who could best sympathize with his story were appropriate and very fitting. And he fits! He’s a character that has a lot to atone to and is on his own redemption arc. He’s also a character that needs the group’s help. So, if he can find Sherry, and help others, he’s a perfect fit for this completely different show from two years ago. A paper trail… Some people complained about the clues Sherry left behind for Dwight. There was some confusion as far as why he thought the car John and June were driving was the same car that he was looking for that Sherry had been driving, and where the registration was. If you recall way back in Season 7 of The Walking Dead, Sherry left Dwight a note that told him where she was going, a cottage they stayed before the apocalypse. When he left at the end of S8E16, he went there and found another note for him that said Honeymoon. We can assume that there was a note for him there, and then another, and probably another. Whether it was in her previous car or where she was staying, Sherry took another car and left behind the registration with another note on the back. Apparently, this car had the same year, make, model and color of the car on the registration, but after comparing the registration VIN with the VIN on the car itself, John was able to determine this was not the correct vehicle, despite matching otherwise. Those kids!!! It seems the showrunners are using deceptive kids as a plot point again this season. That feels a little overused. So, are we correct to assume that the kids are responsible for the walkers tied up by their guts? What about the severed zombie heads? Did they do those,

Tonight's show contains SPOILERS up through the last episode, + possible information from current AMC official promo materials! Welcome to S5E3! After tonight, there will be 5 more episodes until the mid-season finale. Season 5 will be doing the traditional 50/50 split season, with 8 episodes running until July 21st. We don't yet know when Ep 9 will resume the season, but our best guess counting back from the first Sunday in October makes Aug 11th a likely candidate. We will keep our listeners informed when we get confirmation of those dates. Typically we start the show a half hour before the new episode airs live each week, with recap from the previous episode, and discussion of what is to come tonight. At 9:00 pm, we'll go dark or mute, and watch the new episode together, and give episode ratings from 1-10 and commentary during the commercial breaks. We will also give our listeners trivia on the show as well as the cast and crew, including bios, birthdays, and more. Our show is SPOILER and COMIC FREE. Please don't discuss either spoilers or the comics in the chat or on the air - we prefer our discussions, reactions, and comments, to be just about what we know from the show presented. Episode 3 is called "Humbug Gulch" Official AMC Synopsis: "June and Dorie take shelter to hide from a threat, but a misunderstanding with a desperate survivor leads to trouble. Meanwhile, Alicia and Morgan face a dangerous obstacle."

In this 18th episode of Berserker Cast, Darrell and I (Emilee) take a look at Falling Skies season 5 episode 3 entitled "Hatchlings". Aside from being a little disappointed by the misleading nature of the episode title, based on the word as it was used in season 4, both Darrell and I were very happy with this installment of the post-apocalyptic drama! Tension between the characters was excellent, we got some great information about the alien species communicating with Tom, and, as always, an exploration into family and making connections. “Four Walls and a Roof” continues the awesome streak that is Season 5 of The Walking Dead. The death toll rises as we get the first death of a major character this season as well as a few others. The ratings for this episode are still high, but Brian blames the World Series for the slight drop we see from last week. However, The Walking Dead still tops cable viewership for the third week in a row. In this week’s discussion, we talked about what we liked about the episode, as well as a few things that missed the mark. We talked a lot about Gareth and the termites, but we also managed to talk about other parts of the episode, too. Some questions are answered while new questions are raised. Talking Poofy (Scott Brennan, Adam Richard, Toby Sullivan) present The Poofcast 77 (Season 5 Episode 3) guest starring Colin Batrouney and Wes Snelling. Dear Talking Poofy asks the question how young is too young to perve on? We don't really answer it, but instead rabbit on about One Direction and groping straight men. Sexpert Colin Batrouney addresses a comment from a listener about the rise in popularity of barebacking porn and whether that is due to more people barebacking in real life. We are also joined by gay theatre impressario Dorian Dawes who is promoting his new comedy about love and dating in the digital age. All this and the return of Lorna and Lorna. WARNING The Poofcast contains adult themes, sexually explicit discussion, coarse language and the bigoted opinions of fictional housewives who may be from the 50s.
