Hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros challenge the belief that setting bigger goals automatically builds confidence. They explain why self-belief is earned through alignment, proof, and disciplined action, not motivation or hype. Drawing from psychology and thousands of real coaching conversations, they show how misaligned goals quietly erode confidence and consistency over time. This episode reframes what real self-belief looks like and how it is built one credible win at a time.If you want stronger follow-through, clearer goals, and confidence you can trust, listen closely. Send us a textThis episode is about the seasons where life keeps sending you back to revisit old lessons, not to punish you, but to prepare you. Trust that the delays weren't delays. The heartbreaks that weren't endings. and that the weight had to fall off so you could rise lighter.I talk about the invisible training seasons, the moments where you realize you weren't being blocked, you were being rebuilt. Where you learn the difference between survival and alignment. Where you stop negotiating your dreams, stop settling for “good enough,” and start becoming the version of you that can actually hold more. This is for anyone who feels like life has been stopping them at the gate. For anyone in a reset, a shedding, or a rebuilding season. For anyone who knows deep down, you're not late, you're being prepared. This is your update, your reboot. Your Imagination Is The Key To EVERYTHING
One of the biggest causes of suffering in our lives is the fact that nothing lasts forever. It's not only true that all good things must come to an end, but all things must come to an end. In this episode, Thom reminds us that Nature has the final say on what is, and what no longer is relevant in the natural process of evolution. Rather than resisting Nature's timing, our suffering is reduced or eliminated if we embrace Nature's timing.Once again, Vedic meditators have a natural edge in putting this into practice. Focused people build uncommon results. In today's episode, Kevin and Alan challenge the way commitment and focus are misunderstood in personal development. They break down why progress often looks extreme to people who avoid responsibility, discomfort, and judgment. This conversation centers on belief, identity, and consistency. It exposes how fear of disapproval limits execution, why most goals are capped by perceived capability, and what it actually takes to sustain results over time.If you are done negotiating with your standards and want clarity over comfort, this episode will sharpen how you think, choose, and execute. Recover Your Soul: A Spiritual Path to a Happy and Healthy Life
Send one way text to Rev Rachel While I am away this month, I'm sharing another listener-favorite replay from the Recover Your Soul Bonus Podcast. This episode comes from our reflections on Al-Anon through the lens of the Recover Your Soul Process, exploring one of the most life-changing shifts on this journey: the surrender that frees us from codependency. So many of us have lived in the exhausting cycle of trying to fix, control, or anticipate someone else's behavior. We analyze every interaction. We hold silent resentments. We tense our bodies hoping we can make everything okay. But eventually the strain becomes too much. We feel tired. We feel defeated. And we know something has to change. In today's episode, we reflect on a powerful reading from In All Our Affairs that asks the simple, courageous question:Am I willing to give up the struggle? This invitation isn't resignation. It's remembering your own wholeness and handing back what was never yours to carry. It's letting go of the quiet contempt, the overthinking, the need to understand every detail, and the belief that your safety depends on managing someone else's life. When we choose surrender, we choose peace. When we stop trying to control the uncontrollable, something softens. If this episode speaks to you, you may love listening each week to the Recover Your Soul Bonus Podcast. In Episode 205, I had some health hacks I was excited about and now it's time to review them... This year brought us so much in terms of family, a new home, new coaches, and a baby girl (surprise!) on the way! I wanted to take this episode to review some of the hacks I had talked about at the beginning of the year, see what stuck, what I actually enjoyed and didn't, and what's going to make the cut in 2026. Since this is my first pregnancy, some things like cold plunging will have to go on the back burner but I'm excited to share what I'm excited about and what I will be taking with me into 2026. Some topics like private healthcare and peptides are topics I want to cover more extensively in later episodes but wanted to mention them in today's episode because I think they are two big topics. It is the quiet week between Christmas and New Year's. The guests have gone home, the adrenaline has worn off, and you are likely left with a heavy realization: The holidays didn't fix it. If you are currently Googling "how to get a divorce" or secretly looking up attorneys while your spouse is in the other room, you are not alone. Next Monday, January 5th, is known in the legal industry as "Divorce Day," where inquiries skyrocket by 25%. But before you make a call that you cannot unmake, Susan Guthrie has a message for you: Stop. Just breathe. In this urgent and deeply practical solo episode, Susan reveals why the "smartest people" wait until March to file, and exactly what they do in January instead. Drawing on 35 years of practice, she breaks down the "Broken Promise" theory, the danger of the "New Year's Resolution Bomb," and why urgency is the enemy of a good divorce. If you are feeling the pressure to act, this episode is your permission slip to pause, plan, and protect your future before you ever step foot in a courtroom. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: The "Broken Promise" Theory: Why the holidays amplify marital cracks rather than fixing them. The January vs. March Strategy: Why amateurs rush to file in January, while strategists use the month for "vetting and verification". The 3 Critical Questions: What you must ask yourself before you hire a professional (hint: do you know the "business reality" of your marriage?). The "First Responder" Rule: Why your first call should almost never be to a lawyer—and who you should call instead. The Financial Reality Check: The sobering statistic about the 41% drop in household income for women post-divorce and how to prevent it. Mistakes to Avoid: Why hiring a "shark" out of fear is the fastest way to burn through $30,000+. FEATURED RESOURCES & DOWNLOADS: FREE DOWNLOAD: The "January Strategy Calendar" Don't spin your wheels this month. Susan has created a free 4-week "Pre-Season" planner to help you audit your emotions, gather financial documents, and vet professionals before you file.

A simple wooden bench beneath redwoods can teach more about mindfulness than a stack of books. Sean Fargo shares how years as a Buddhist monk distilled into one essential practice: sit at the base of a tree, feel your breath, and let nature lead. From Thai forests to a Berkeley backyard, he traces the quiet power of practicing outdoors and explains why fresh air, shifting light, and the textures of the world sharpen attention and soften judgment. We explore a practical, element-based approach—earth, fire, air, water, and space—that makes awareness tangible. You'll hear how to work with sun on the skin, breeze on the face, and the honest feedback of uneven ground. Sean offers simple ways to start today: eyes open or closed, sitting in a park, or taking a slow walk while sensing heel, ball, toe. For teachers, he maps out how to guide groups off Zoom and into parks, trails, and campgrounds, where presence becomes easier and distractions become part of the practice instead of problems to fix.If you've wondered whether public meditation looks strange, this conversation offers permission and a plan. We talk about building resilience by staying with both pleasant and unpleasant conditions, noticing judgments, and returning to raw sensation. By the end, you'll have a clear, friendly roadmap for bringing your practice outdoors—alone, with friends, or with a class—and a renewed trust that nature is a steady mentor when we show up to listen.Subscribe for more grounded guidance, share this episode with someone who loves the outdoors, and tell us in the comments: where in nature do you practice mindfulness?Support the showAdd your 5‑star review — this really helps others find us. Losing weight is probably one of the most common reasons we hear that people want to end their binge eating. It's the physical symbol of success and is most apparent to the world. Reasons for wanting to change their current state may also include bothersome achy knees, elevated blood pressure, or distress about not being a healthy role model. But the big thing that hurts them on a daily basis is the size, shape, or weight of their body. If you want to stop binge eating mostly because you want to lose weight, that's a perfectly fine reason. The goal for today's episode is to help alleviate the frustration that can grow when you're doing the right things to stop binge eating, but your weight hasn't budged. Because if we don't address that frustration, it leads people to lose focus on binge eating recovery and start focusing instead on moving the scale. We will discuss how the order of the stages of recovery matter, why weight loss before conquering binge eating doesn't work, and learn about the steps toward achieving both goals. We want to equip you with strategies to navigate your own journey to complete food freedom, including deliberate weight loss behaviors and maintaining long-term success. What if home isn't a location but a feeling you can access anywhere? On a quiet stretch of California's Central Valley, we explore how mindfulness turns a long drive into a place of safety, gratitude, and deep belonging. Instead of rushing from one address to the next, we lean into breath, body, and the living world around us—the weight of the seat, the warmth of the sun, the whisper of wind, even the tumbleweeds—and discover a home that doesn't depend on walls. We get honest about the old habit of racing to arrive: optimizing departure times, passing at the perfect angle, pushing for speed. Then we slow down, sense into the ground that holds us, and let presence soften the road. Through simple practices—feeling the inhale and exhale, grounding through contact points, widening awareness to include sky and land—we learn to relate to the environment as part of our inner home. Safety stops being a future destination and becomes a moment-to-moment experience in the body.Along the way, we ask a few powerful questions: Can I be at home in my body right now? Can I trust the earth beneath me? Can I welcome the air and space around me? With each question, the heart opens to care, and gratitude naturally rises. That gratitude eases transitions—new places, uncertain paths, and the in-between miles feel less like exile and more like belonging. If you're moving through change, traveling, or simply craving steadiness, this conversation offers a gentle map back to yourself. If this resonated with you, follow the show, share it with a friend who's on the move, and leave a quick review to help others find a sense of home, wherever they are.Support the showAdd your 5‑star review — this really helps others find us. Life doesn't always go to plan. In fact, life rarely seems to go to plan. We can't let those little bumps in the road, or even huge obstacles keep us from moving forward in our life. We need to be able to shift into another gear, change lanes, or take another route. This meditation hopes to help remind us that there is always another way. There is always plan B. One breath at a time.

In this special holiday revisited episode of Think Thursday, Molly explores why mental rest is essential for brain health, especially coming out of a season of overstimulation. She explains how modern life is designed to hijack our attention, keeping us in constant reaction mode and depriving the brain of the downtime it needs to function well.Molly breaks down what happens neurologically when the brain is exposed to nonstop input, including cognitive fatigue, reduced creativity, increased stress, and weaker memory consolidation. She revisits the role of the default mode network and explains why creativity and quiet, not constant consumption, are key to restoring mental clarity and emotional regulation. The episode closes with practical, science backed strategies for reclaiming mental rest and intentionally creating space for the brain to recover and thrive. What You'll LearnThe difference between mental rest and sleep or meditationWhy the brain is not designed for constant stimulationHow nonstop input leads to cognitive fatigue and decision fatigueThe role of the default mode network in creativity and problem solvingWhy overstimulation increases stress, anxiety, and emotional reactivityHow modern technology has removed natural stopping points for the brainWhy attention is the product in today's digital economyKey Concepts ExplainedCognitive fatigue from continuous information processingDefault mode network and its role in reflection and creativitySympathetic nervous system activation from constant stimulationMemory consolidation requiring downtime and restAttention as a limited resource that must be protected intentionallyPractical Strategies Shared in the EpisodeSchedule at least 30 minutes of tech free time each dayEmbrace boredom and allow moments of silence without distractionCreate a no phone zone in one part of your day, such as meals or bedtimeReplace scrolling with hands on, real world creativityPrioritize presence over constant consumptionReal World Creativity Ideas MentionedPlaying music or learning an instrumentDrawing, painting, or doodlingWriting by hand through journaling or copying quotesGardening, crafting, sculpting, or woodworkingCreative movement such as dancing, stretching, or mindful walkingWhy Mental Rest MattersMental rest is not wasted time. Without intentional breaks, the brain stays in reaction mode, making it harder to focus, create, and feel calm.Listener InvitationFor the next 24 hours, find one way to engage in real world creativity with no screens involved. What if the greatest gift you could offer this season isn't something you buy—but rather the way you choose to meet yourself and others—with kindness? As we pause new releases over the holidays, the Finding Mastery team is taking time to rest, reflect, and be with our loved ones — because we believe relationships are part of the practice of mastery itself. So today, we're re-releasing a powerful, audio-only episode from the Finding Mastery Vault: a conversation with THE Sharon Salzberg, one of the world's leading teachers of wisdom, mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation. Sharon shares how love can be trained as an ability, why discernment and gratitude sharpen performance, and how to meet fear without hardening. She also walks us through a simple loving-kindness meditation you can use right away. Her lessons are as relevant now as they were when we first shared this conversation — maybe even more so in a world that could use a little more gentleness right now.So, Happy Holidays from all of us here at Finding Mastery and with that, enjoy this week's From The Vault conversation with Sharon Salzberg.___________________________________________________________________Links & ResourcesSubscribe to our Youtube Channel for more conversations at the intersection of high performance, leadership, and wellbeing: https://www.youtube.com/c/FindingMasteryGet exclusive discounts and support our amazing sponsors!
